If true, this is looking more like Columbine with more explosives :/ Heads full of worms, aye. I'll never get that kind of thinking. No one will be my friends so i will kill everyone! Kind of self defeating. Have been listening to BBC World News Hour on the way to work this AM. They spoke with the boys' uncle, who characterized the older suspect as a 'loser' - a dropout who was doing a whole lot of not much, despite having much potential. BBC's Russia Desk has spoken with the boy's father, who seems to have a lot of difficulty connecting teh younger boy to events in his mind. Apparently the younger brother was expected to be a real star. Both boys were into martial arts; wrestling and some form of Asian martial art. The younger is reported to have had a scholarship in wrestling. Other stories on the BBC include one about the man seen being hustled off in a wheelchair, both legs with rough dressings on; He lost both legs, but when he woke after surgery, he managed to request a pen and paper, wrote out an accurate description of one of the suspects. This was before the pictures had been released - and handed the description off to an FBI agent. Increasingly, the 'Columbine' angle seems to be accurate. Thing is Boston news said that one of them was pretty popular and had many friends, they even interviews one of the friends. Its hard to get a real picture with so many conflicting stories.
With time, truth will surface and it will backup not less than five opposing and mutually incompatible political reads. Man-made tragedies often are bound to end up being of use to someone's Cause... Interesting........... Takes a HUGE effort, and cannot last - soon, basic survival needs will force the lifting of the lockdown. Still a disquieting lesson. Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

Honestly, if I had done something like this, my family would have disavowed any knowledge of me. That's pretty much the approach the Uncle took - Shocked, and cutting them dead. The Uncle is in the US somewhere, I understand, whilst the father is in Dagastan, and is apparently rather out-of-contact. Also still seems to be having one hell of a hard time connecting his children to events. Which is understandible enough. Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. Honestly, if I had done something like this, my family would have disavowed any knowledge of me. I've now heard 3 call-in conversations NBC has had with people who went to high school with the younger guy, and he just does not fit the loner profile at all. Very outgoing and social guy. All his former classmates are in complete shock. That matches. Older brother possibly dominating younger brother, older brother on a downward spiral, decides to lash out. Bad things ensue.

Even at the age of 9, I found the 'racist' things in it to be strictly accurate depictions of how people were treated at the time of the story. Depicting 'racism' is not the same thing as actual 'racism'.
I remember when Warner Brothers banned TV broadcasts of the Speedy Gonzales cartoons as they were afraid of backlash from the growing Latin community. They finally relented after over a decade after receiving a ton of mail from Mexican citizens about how they consider Speedy to be a National Hero.
But they still won't release the two Speedy cartoons that had his cousin "Slow-Poke Rodriguez". Those are indeed 'problematic'. There is much to be said in favour of modern journalism. So apparently the younger brother is the nicest person you could have hoped to meet. Many friends reporting they are shocked etc etc.
Older brother seems to be a blank.
But now being reported that the older brother had a makeshift suicide belt on when he was shot and injured. So I'm guessing he took at least one round to the head, as thats the practice here with suicide bombers. Put them down hard, and put them down permanently.
Given that the boston bomb has ball bearings and other projectiles that could have done a lot of damage. "I think you should buy a new Mayan calendar. Mine has muscle cars on it." --áKenneth O'Hara

Reports are that the older suspect died of gunshot and blast injuries - also that the vehicle the suspects were in had its windows blown out. Belt may've gone off anyway.

That tells me its rather low grade and amateur. The ones here are nasty because those making them know their stuff.
