6+ million were wiped out in Europe, 2 out of every 3 European Jews was killed.

For the record, the number of Jews in the world still has not fully recovered, there are still only ~14 mil jews worldwide today... so the effects of the Holocaust (and yes the Russian purges) are still being felt.

I'm all for a good-natured barb here and there, but IMHO Dr. Gu+¦mundsson, the head E.v.e. economist (or whoever made his powerpoint section) went too far this year:

The section in question involved the discussion of a transaction tax meant to curb what is seen as an increasing wealth disparity in EVE (which I admit is very much a growing issue); while not outright mentioning them by name, the good Dr. very clearly hinted at the presence of the so-called "Jewbal" which colludes to accumulate wealth for themselves and the "Goonswarm" alliance. One can very easily see the parallel between the name this group gave themselves in good humor (they're mostly Jewish in real life, if I recall correctly) and the racial caricature of a Jewish man used in the powerpoint presentation today; I personally have to take real issue with the demonizing of an entire IRL religio-cultural group for the sake of some cheap laughs (to the E.v.e. community's credit, none were had that I noticed while watching the stream).

Luckily CCP Anal took over the talk before any other tragic guffaws were made...
