We really need a combat damage window similar to a chat window that we can scroll through and see what really happened with the ability to log the output. The way it is now I can barely tell what's going on since all of my weapons' damage output gets overlapped in the single "popup" style window. A lot of time I get shot and have no idea what kind of damage I'm taking etc. etc. This window also needs to include damage type like what kind of weapon was used against you and what kind of damage it hit you for and vice versa.

I so deeply agree they need to revamps that window, I think I'll just keep bumping this until they give in :)

Although it wouldn't be right if people would know exactly what weapon was being fired on them and which ammo is in it.

agree to 100%. and that little silly window we have should be movable. Right now it pops up almost in the midle of the screen. Very irritating imo.

Good point Indigo Seqi. I agree that the weapon and ammo shouldn't be displayed but at least display the damage type. EM, Thermal, Explosive. etc.

Look at the bottom icon on the Neocom "log", it shows just this kind of thing and you can select all/copy and then paste it elsewhere.

However, it can have a bug where it just repeatedly shows one line at the top, refreshed for every hit.

Also, an option to log this to a *file* for later perusing without having to faff with copy/paste would be VERY VERY VERY good. I've a script I run against such output to find average dmg/hit for weapons and it'd help a lot gathering that data Very Happy.

I know about the neocomm thing but I need something I can use in battle on the fly without having to look for it. i.e. chat style pop up. See my original post.

Yes. It would be nice to check the effectiveness of different weapon setups quickly and to be able to turn the damage display off like minimizing the chat window.

I find that one of the problems with the current damage log is that if several of your guns go off at the same time, only one is recorded. Really irritating.

Avaton,

A make-do solution, drag and drop the Neocom log box into your chat boxes. You will then have it as a tab option with your set of chat boxes. It will not be "pop-up" exactly but it will be "chat style." Wink Optionally, You could add the log box to whatever box you commonly keep open on your display in addition to chat. For example, I keep a box open on my display with tabs for my cargo hold and addresses. Those boxes are not usually needed during combat, and the log box could be added as a tab to that set. It is true that using the Necom log box is not as handy as a pop-up.

Hey cool! Thanks for the tip about docking the log window in the chat window. That's pretty close to what I wanted. Now if it just reported the damage type and didn't go bonkers and erase it's entire contents sometimes it would be exactly what I need. Very Happy

Docking the log box in the chat window has been working great BUT, I'd love to be able to turn off the time stamps as they are just clutter and the ability to see the damage type is sorely needed.
