SO I am COMPLETELY green on EVE, I started to play on Monday, and one thing I am really pleased about is how friendly and helpful (most of) the players are! I have been streaming most of my playtime, and people show up and tell me all kinds of cool things in the stream chat. I pretty much learned most of the stuff I know now from them(creds!). They have been showing me good loadouts for my ship, how I should skill up for different things, and I would also like to thank all of the people that have been donating ISK to me, I know that 10 mill isn't that much for someone who has been playing for a good while, but I appreciate it alot! I really REALLY like the way you basically can start with any race and background and just skill your way up to anything, but I think that many newbies like me will waste allot of time on skills that you in the end, will never use. With that being said I still got the impression that you will get the skills that are more or less appropriate for you(and your missions) trough the mission line you choose. which is pretty brilliant if you are a lonely newbie like me! The way that you receive missions is actually pretty brilliant (at least on my level), as those who are looking for lore and a story can read trough all the stuff that agents tell you before missions, while people like me, who just follow orders can skim trough the objectives, undock, warp to the location, do the mission, go back and complete it.
EVE is a game with so much content and so much to learn! I constantly learn to do new things, and that feeling you get when you master something new; dayum gurl! I think that all in all EVE gets a lot less credits as a game than it actually deserves, because even though I haven't been playing this game much at all, I still enjoy every second of my game time! I think one of the only things that are pulling this game down is that it is really hard for newbies like me to get into how the gameplay works and the different mechanics. There are tutorials, but I just found them confusing, so I relied on help from people I know, and it has worked out pretty good for me this far. I am without doubt hooked on this game and I look forward to play, learn and have more fun in the future! O7! (I seriously hope i used o7 right this time) |

The first thing that popped up in my my chat, the second one, I do take a lot of advice from other players, but I usually think it over before I bo anything that might be stupid. And the "don't fly what you can't afford to lose" one is pretty obvious, I would never want to risk my most valuable equipment, or fly around in lowsec with 1000 plex... But thanks for the reminder! |

welcome to the only MMO where other players care for you , even when they blow up your ship first
my advice , learn what the game has to offer and choose your career path you want to follow and do not let others tell you , you need to play the game their way
have fun I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire |

have fun Thanks for the advice! I will eventually choose one path, but right now I'm all about trying different stuff. It's a little like elementary school, where you try all kinds of stuff before you go on to specializing in one thing.. (at least that's how I like to think about it) I also realized that I posted this with my first character, which I halfway abandoned so I could make a new one another place to play with my friends, but it does not really matter that much. |

Point taken! I am pretty skeptical of nature, so I'll trust my gut feeling. I know that there is a lot of bullshit scams on the market, so I usually double check prices too. |

agreed. OP, you'll do alright here. Might even go far and be one of the "big names" with that attitude. (and yes, you got the salute right -- though no need for a capital 'o' or the exclamation mark ) One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

I don't know about the big name part, but I'l just go on in my own pace and take things as they occur. One thing is for sure, people who don't play EVE don't know what they are missing. I actually feel like EVE is a bit like Minecraft was in alpha/early beta. The people that play are way to addicted(mostly in a good way), and those who have heard of the game but don't play it them selves tend to call it ******** out of pure ignorance. |

Will do! I have no plans of any pvp action just yet, as I am still working on getting familiar with the game, but I'll give you a buzz when I am getting to that! Thanks for the offer! |

Pretty sure that was a "Will do" regarding learning the fine art of ganking and tear extraction.

I think part of what makes Eve confusing is the option paralysis that new players can suffer from. You can do anything and so its fun to try out everything; this leads to a pilot who can fly everything poorly and has 5 million SP's that are all over the place, also too much time spent balancing faction standings imho.
Once you finish the Sisters Epic "Blood Stained Stars" You might want to consider picking a race and sort of focusing on it. This will limit the amount of material that you have to take in and make your skill path much more clear. Faction kill missions pay better and they are a bit more interesting because they get into the back story of the wars between the empires. And it will help you create a bit of backstory about your own character, this is useful because it creates a buffer between you and your character that will help to limit feedback from the game.
There's a youtube series called "lets play eve online by DrOgres" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrMoHNXiCEI here is the first one, it says episode 2, he deleted 1 because it didnt come out well. Its done by a player who has been playing for a while and decided to start a new character from scratch with no material help from his main. It has some great insights into the game and definitely introduces a game that is better than what the tutorials present.
Most players themselves are very friendly, try not to talk to too many people in game and make lots of freinds, Eve isn't actually about being nice to one another.
Best of luck -áKick ass soundtrack and Eve Pewpew http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gvc4KljpRGI |

We have standards here in New Eden damn it.
