Well, while Blizzard and all those others had user names and passwords stolen, CCP managed to pull the plug before bad things happened. I think that CCP has the best network engineers out there. Just waiting to see how the DDoS will be mitigated.

While i think we do deserve a compensation for the lost day ( I agree it was not CCP's fault, but neither was ours, and we are the ones paying for this game ). I would much rather go with a +1 day in subscriptions than free SPs. I absolutely agree with postponing the patch because I bought a char and I was supposed to inject and train the last 2 cruisers to level 3 before the patch - now I wont be able to, and I will lose the corresponding BC5 skills.

Well it's been two days ......Why is the server down ? Man I had some major things going on when the Tranquility Server went down.
Hope CCP can get us up and running again.

The Tranquility cluster has been taken offline as of 03:06 UTC in order to enable us to investigate several network issues that have occurred this morning.

We currently have no ETA for the server to be brought back online, however we will update this forum thread as and when more information becomes available.

We apologize for this unexpected downtime, and any inconvenience it may cause.

Um, just how do you think the skill queue works, anyway? Perhaps you've noticed you can't queue up more than a 24 hours of training?

If you're a new pilot with a lot of short skills left to train, you can tack on a longer skill at the end (unless you're a real new pilot and don't have any yet). But once you get to the point where pretty much all available skills are longer -- and your 10+ day skill is on its last legs -- you can't follow it up with another 10+ day skill until you let it burn down to less than a day.

And some of us have lives, and only have time to update our queues at certain times of the day.

Your "prior planning" theory is nice, but sadly lacking in real-world practicality.

Yes I understand it was not there problem, but they need to keep fourms on a whole different server. Not everyone is a dim witted Facebooker / tweeter leave that **** for brainless teenie boppers.

I'm not mad at CCP they got attacked. But they could at least give an ETA for today.

So now that I can bypass the Launcher log in and just open the client and log in I am happy. But the problems did start after they changed how we log into the game.

Again when it's not broke, do not try and fix it, as you can see, you opened up a can of worms for yourself. This all could have been avoided is my point.

The hackers found a weakness and exploited it. Not CCP's fault for the hackers choice to attack, but is CCP's fault for giving them an exploit to exploit.
