Odyssey would have been released as a successful expansion, If you had just left out the one glaring screwup.
You could have held your heads high after dealing with the DDoS downtime so well.
As the miners realised that Ice & WH mining wasn't completely stuffed and they just needed to adapt a little. It would've been generally regarded as a good release. Not great like Apoc or anything, but hardly another Incarna.
CCP Fozzie and Rise working their arses off for many months, making good changes after feedback from us about what was good and what was crap. Those 2 have done an outstanding job creating not only goodwill in the forums, but making EVE a place I want to be.
Falling in love with CCP Seagull as she powered through the clearly visible nerves and presented at fanfest like an absolute champion. Not because shes female but because shes got guts. These thing foster goodwill with me, I don't want to speak for anyone else, but I'm sure I'm not alone on this, and they make me regard EVE as my own, these things make me want to keep sending you money.
CCP Peligro, whom I had considered a bit of a turd before fanfest gained multitudes of personal respect from his presentation at fanfest. CCP Soundwave, on the couch, relaxed, you all did so well.
Yet you blew it all with just one post. Actually several posts from CCP staff, but we know who the main offender is.
It just baffles me.
Someone somewhere was thinking, 'well this is all going a bit too smoothly, the playerbase seems a little too quiet, what can I do to mess this up? boot.ini? Eh been done before. $900 jeans? So passee. How about a company wide email? Um, not quite that fearless. Wait a minute, I think I've got something!'
If you imagine Apoc - Incarna on a scale from 10 - 0, I'd probably rate Odyssey about a 6 or 7. It's better than mediocre I think. I'm probably weighting too heavily the minimal downtime, the fact that POSs didn't kill their owners and silly things like that.
However with one failed decision you've knocked 4 points off and now it sits around a 2. All the good and hard work others have done has been undone with just one decision.
I won't be continuing, I'm not getting over it, if anything I'm getting more worked up about it. I'll check in on the forums and news sites periodically to see if the problem still persists, my guess is that I will activate those PLEXs the same day the problem goes away. I have 20 days left on this set of PLEX. I'll use that time to shiptoast and pull my pixels into one location in a station far far away.

A lot of regular posters seem to have vanished off the forums recently, I wonder why.
I was very annoyed by the way some CCP employees had had handled the situation. Incredibly unprofessional and down right pathetic in their attempts to shut down peoples opinions and sweep it all under the rug.
At the end of the day they hired a community rep who is largely not liked by the community. The thousands of likes highlighting people's concerns in the deleted thread to a positive 100 seemed to say it all.
What's more hilarious is that when questioned about previous forum warnings people are getting told "your petition is closed". I mean just look at the other guy who was banned and then immediately suspended due to "suspected participation in RMT".
Anyway I'm not going to quit the game because
1 - It's awesome. 2 - I still love the majority of CCP staff 3 - I like the EVE community
Besides I'd rather get banned than quit. |

I wish the forums were more open. They call things like this an "attack" but these are just words, and players have no power.
They just have the freedom to leave, and CCP isn't scared of that considering they ban them anyway, or develop other games or ignore them.
It seems oppressive. CCP has all the power in one of the few places players can express themselves and they delete and moderate their words.

At the end of the day though, this board belongs to CCP and they can be as oppressive as they want to be because they don't have to answer to anyone but themselves.

In 2007/08..09? These forums were like the wild west, you could even post images. I think that coincided with the last time this game was actually growing.
I know that when I go to check out a new game and I see about 4 whiteknights / shills posing on the forums I assume the game is dead. |

Oh no, I wasnt suggesting you were being a bad egg, and as for your praise for their work I did see that too.
I am not suggesting you arent entitled to an opinion either, just adding my two cents to the idea that CCP were being too heavy handed in their approach, and I was just saying that they already have rules for this situation, and I agree that they dont have to justify them anymore than any other company does. I've already canceled my 14 accounts. but they're prepaid for a few months still anyhow. So that's always cool.
What's sad is this flop of an expansion, if you can truly call it that isn't what prompted me to cancel. It was the absolute terrible job of the few staff members that served only to inflame those with reasonable complaints this passed weekend. Being stuck unable to play the game dor 2 days didn't bother me at all. I knew these guys were working hard to make sure it came up working regardless of whatever else.
Then the other day happens and I lose all respect for CCP as an organization and the direction they are taking with their staffing decisions. I have no power but my wallet so I'm speaking with it. And no, no one can have my stuff, half of it's already biomassed. |

I honestly thought it was going quite well. Getting little annoyances fixed, the ship rebalancing was excellent overall despite a lot of my favourite ships getting changed in manners that didn't personally suit me.
Some of the module changes (inactive invuls for example) didn't suit me and my level 5 skills, but I could see the bigger picture and just dealt with it.
This was valid until recently, now I just don't know.
I'm also very close to being un-nerfable skill wise. 90 days to go I think. |

Pretty much this. I'm not sure when people got the idea in their heads that they had any sort of say in who CCP hires. Seriously, you have no say, you will never have any say, it's none of your business, and if you think it is, you're wrong. If someone turns out to be bad at their job and is let go, that's one thing, but no one should be fired because a handful of people are mad that someone they don't like got hired.
(also, she's a dust community rep, so I'm really not sure how people here think this is not only affecting them, but heralding the end of eve, but hey, "eve is dying" that's the joke, right?) |

Last night you talked about leaving, I said I can't let you go It's not just emotional feeling I need your body and soul
You give me one good reason to leave me I'll give you ten good reasons to stay You're the only one I believe in I'll be hurt; I'll be hurt, if you walked away
(Chorus)
Too many broken hearts in the world There's too many dreams can be broken in two Too many broken hearts in the world So I won't give up the fight for you
The world is full of lonely people Who never held onto love Last night I tried to reach you But somehow it wasn't enough
So I said, can't you wait any longer I'll give you all that a lover should give It ain't my pride but my love that is stronger I'll be hurt; I'll be hurt, if you walked away
(Repeat Chorus *2)

Dare I even post.... Ok.. what the heck. My 2 cents on the MINTCHIP issue (not going to obscure the point).
1. CCP can hire anyone they want. Period. Obviously CCP Mintchip had some qualities that CCP believes will benefit their company. To hire anyone on any other basis would be foolish, and I always give the benefit of the doubt when it comes to foolishness until proven otherwise.
2. Everyone deserves the chance to prove themselves. Some of the crap I read on an earlier forum post was ridiculous. CCP Mintchip deserves the chance to succeed or fail just like anyone else starting a new job.
3. She is the DUST Player Rep. Not EVE. So all this vitrol is very much wasted.
4. So much hate, so early, forces CCP to defend MINTCHIP because to not do so would put every other developer at risk for anything they do for the game. That is an intolerable situation for any gaming developer.
HOWEVER,
1. A lot of this drama would have been avoided if CCP Mintchip would have been introduced as CCP CLEANSLATE in the DUST forums. No reference to her blog or youtube videos. Later, during a fanfest or some other event, her identity could have been exposed, but only after she had the opportunity to make a name for herself as a competent CCP employee. To come out from the beginning with so much baggage, puts her in a difficult postion.
2. As a DUST player rep, announcing your new job on the EVE forums, was probably a bad move.
3. We as CUSTOMERS of CCP have the right to communicate our displeasure with their decisions. As long as it is professional, this communication should not be censored or deleted. And in the end, we as CUSTOMERS have the right to stop using the company's product if we feel their decisions are egregious enough.
Personally, I didn't even know who MINTCHIP was before this all happened. And, after a little research, I don't care. It will not affect my game play or how I view the game. |

We get a fair bit of say game play wise, and that's great, but I think people are seriously overstepping themselves by saying they should also be included in the HR manager's job. Their ideas have always been against the grain of what Eve is. Eve is gritty, dark, foreboding, tough, and uncaring. This person continuously spoke out against those characteristics and said they should change to make the game 'better.' This, obviously, did not set well with people.
And yes, we are owed an explanation by the company who 'prides itself' in staying close to its community. They rode that credit again and again and again. So yes, we are owed an explanation because CCP maneuvered themselves that way. And who are you to say we cannot criticize their decision? What authority to you have to decree our right to speak out forfeit because 'mother knows best,' so to speak?

Not yet. They need to set the code and such up to have them spread across all of Eve. Right now they're limited to FW, but the orbital strikes and such are having an impact. I think there was an event that actually pushed the Arch Angels out of their territory because DUST players roflstomped them, hard.

1) She works for the company that manages Eve now. 2) Yes, we are. We're obviously so 'close' to the developers, like they preach so often. So, why not explain? 3) They do make the hiring decisions, and we make the well founded and reasoned criticisms. 4) We do not have that authority but we do have the ability to want answers, as CCP put the community on a pedestal for holding up Eve and making it what it is. No, I will not quit. 5) We are paying customers who put hours into Eve and attempt to make it better, not just consume. 6) See Answer 3. What's I'm saying is pretty obvious. It's not on the level of Kennedy assassination at least.
Do you think that as a person she was the most qualified for the job? Out of everyone they could have hired? Really? I mean honestly? Really?
It's not even saying anything bad that they hired her for name recognition, it's just obvious. |

Agree With op. Tbh I won't claim I'm gonna quit but this could be the start of a bad road for ccp. Its annoying because after Seagulls speech at fanfest I was really back into this game. The main thing that happened isn't the big deal here its others from ccp calling people misogynistic and insulting us due to our opinions who has done damage to this game and we see as being in a place to do damage in future. We are entitled to these opinions and a lot of people didn't cross that line but we're still grouped with the few. |

Agree. I point this out only because her hiring has awakened a beast on the forums. If CCP truely wanted to avoid this then what I suggested was valid. If they did not, then they should not be surprised about the reaction.
If they didn't have an inkling that there would be a problem, they are out of touch. |

1) An employee does tasks for a company to make a product. Thus the product is altered. In this case, the product is Eve. 2) Check interviews, old posts, blog posts, etc. The very existence of the blogs, social media, and forum sections specifically to solicit crowd sourcing from the community speaks to this. They are the tenants of strong community building and branding. CCP maneuvered their brand to not only be a dynamic space sim, but a company 'in touch' with its community demonstrated by the sheer amount of interaction going on. 3) See post #52 for the criticisms. If you are not capable of reading and understanding the criticisms, then you are not credible in this argument at all and can be dismissed. 4) Why can we not want to know? Why are you using ad hominem? 5) See point 2 as to why it indeed does matter. 6) Good for you. 7) Sociological. Emergent behavioral patterns originating from a group which then spreads out to cause more action. Social media is a good example of latent action spurred on by an event.
I once again suggest you read Post #52 to understand the actual logical reasoning behind this as opposed to dismissing the claims of others as 'agenda based' or misogynistic. We don't care that she's a woman. We wouldn't care if she was a sentient lemur. It is their past action that is the issue.

Here we go again..
1. The task in question is answering questions and forum moderation for Dust.. how does that effect Eve?
2. Yet at no point would I consider any of them preaching.. like I asked before.. give me a link to something which can be classed as preaching.
3. I have read them but all I see is personal attacks and nothing which states that she can not do the job that she has been hired for. In fact she has things which would make her a good candidate such as having over 25k subs on her youtube channel which would indicate that people like her, which is good for a community rep.
4. You can not know because if has nothing to do with you. Also, I am pretty damn sure that CCP are not able to post what her qualification are because that would be classed as private data.
5. See point 2.
6. Thank you :)
7. Lol.. well you have me beat by that one. Far too clever for me :)
Her past actions have no relation to her job. So she posts youtube vids, which in my own personal opinion are awful, she complained about the Eve community.. who hasn't, and as for the rest I will not talk about as what she does in her personal life is up to her and nothing to do with anybody here. |

1) The role of a representative is not limited to interactions, even though it is a major part of it. They need to collaborate and determine long term plans to engage the community, how to handle problems, and how to bring grievances up. The employee in question has a history of pushing for more PvE and a leash being placed on the :grimdark: of Eve. With this bias, the person could push more of her agenda through players and brush aside the others. 2) I did not use the term preaching, you are putting words in my mouth to discredit me despite the fact it is demonstrably false. It is the frequency of which it happened. If someone has the image link of her posts and ramblings against CCP/Eve, feel free to pm them to Kobol. 3) I do not think you understand the difference between a personal attack and stating facts that are personal. She may be capable of running A community, but there are different types of communities. This particular one is not happy with her. Additionally, you are using a number fallacy. "Likes" are not an indicator of quality work when applied to a specific situation. 4) That is not what you said before. You said we can not WANT to know, as in we don't have the right to want to know. We do. Again, we don't care about her resume. We want to know why they hired someone who has a horrible repertoire with the community. 5) N/A 6) You are welcome. 7) I do this for a living.
Her past actions, as anyone's, does relate to the job. I would not hire someone to my company as a face to the customers when they have long been an outspoken person against the product until their time of hiring. It is simply bad PR. Additionally, bias would be a concern unless more resources were allocated to monitor them to prevent biased action. What do you think a resume is for? Or a criminal background check? Or ANY background check for that matter before being hired?
Prince Kobol wrote: I have no idea if she was the most qualified for the job because I have no idea what her qualifications are and what the post required and was not involved in her interview.
That's the point, nobody here knows.. hence why it all amounts to nothing then personal attacks as nobody has the facts apart from CCP and they are the only people who matter.
You must learn to infer based on the evidence available to you. Not all conclusions in history were met because the path was direct. While it is true we do not know her qualifications, we can infer based on the evidence available, including disposition to the game, attitude to the player base, conduct on social media post event, already evidenced poor PR ability, and a number of other factors. This history alone would ensure that I would not hire such a person, especially if the community of my product is very passionate and outspoken of said product.
Additionally, CCP has learned a lot about community relations and damage control. So, why hire someone they knew would cause so many problems? One can infer that her controversy would, as a DUST rep, would likely attract people.
It is not personal attacking, it is critical thinking based on the evidence at hand.

The most funny part is that it seems people don't think CCP will give her some guide line along with the paycheck... Do you guys really think she will trash talk the game as a community manager?
It's pretty obvious they are getting her because they know she can handle community management job as proved by her channel. They will then give her guideline to follow to use her skill to further the company. They are not hiring her for her opinion but for what she can do. They are thinking as a buisness instead of a bunch of irritated fanboy like the forum are right now. |

Again, this is not related to her qualifications or ability as a community manager. What is questioned and would beg an explanation is why she, of all people, was hired given her history and reputation with the community? I studied PR as an undergrad and one of the key things when hiring a community rep or any client/customer facing employee is to assess the persons online sentiment towards them. Customers are not idiots despite some beliefs. If they see a rep being employed, and that rep is loathed by the customers, you have problems.
The only possibility of being hired were to be if she brought some kind of financially tempting plan or skill to the table. The ROI would need to be HUGE to warrant the risk. But, THAT is jumping to a conclusion (Occam's Razor).

The big lie here is that she trashed EVE the game. I don't follow her well enough to be able to say she never criticized the game (and really who hasn't?), but those tweets didn't say that.
She didn't hate the game, she hated certain playahs.
And from the behavior exhibited recently, I can't say I blame her. Am glad she got over it. Don't make me hand you a wizard hat. |

i'm curious...why do people in this community post walls-o-text? when i played other games, people would keep their posts short, and it was nice. i think it should be mandatory to have a tl;dr version for every wall-o-text
tl;dr: post shorter posts "Imagine if the bars to your prison were all you had ever known. Then one day, someone appears and unlocks the door. If they have the power to do this, then are they really the liberator? You never remembered who it was that closed you in." - Ior Labron |

I would say it's pretty obvious why she was hired. If you've ever seen one of her youtube video's you probably think the same as me.
But then again, it's true that I very rarely understand what CCP is doing.
So it's possible they could look at any random application and think

Seems that CCP, having gone through a formal hiring process, is far more likely to have the relevant information. What you're doing isn't critical thinking, it's looking at limited facts and jumping to conclusions.
Having read through this thread and the deleted one, this 'loathing' isn't universal, not even amongst the subset of people that use the forums. Fact is, most [/i ]players don't have a problem with her, it's just that the ones that do are particularly vocal. But none of the people opposing her hiring have made complaints about her lack of ability to do her job. It's all about how they [i]fear she will do, or things that she has done in the past - which are unrelated to her current job.
The bit about what she brings to the table is pretty much irrelevant - she's already been hired, the decision has been made. How it was arrived at is not really our concern.

You and I both don't have the evidence to claim fact about anything outside of what is available to us and what can be realistically inferred. The new employees history being questions? Sure, evidence is available. Saying MOST people don't have a problem with her is fact? We need numbers. And again, this isn't about her ability to manage a community (for the fifth time). This is about her disposition towards the game and wanting to know why someone so against the :grimdark: of Eve was hired. I honestly don't care about her resume.
Quote:The bit about what she brings to the table is pretty much irrelevant - she's already been hired, the decision has been made. How it was arrived at is not really our concern.
No, it is not irrelevant as it is a possible explanation for her hiring. The anti-questioning and pro-obedience rhetoric from people on these forums is getting absurd.

You know, someone who would then be unemployed because the assumption is they left some other job to go work for CCP. Nice that you don't care if that person ends up homeless or not or has what is perhaps a dream job for them.

It's nothing to do with sample sizes. You've quite consistently made out that "the community" has an issue with her hiring - it doesn't, a small, vocal minority of people within it do.
Although - if I concede that the sample size is too small or we don't have enough information on what the larger playerbase thinks, it then follows that it can't be claimed that a majority, or "the community" has opposition to her hiring either.
Anslo wrote: This is about her disposition towards the game and wanting to know why someone so against the :grimdark: of Eve was hired. I honestly don't care about her resume.
Sure, you can want to know, but you don't have a right to demand answers. CCP may or may not choose to make a statement about it. I'd imagine it would be quite difficult to answer it in a way that might satisfy everyone without revealing personal information from the hiring process. But to be honest, it's really none of our business. As long as she doesn't have a negative impact on the game, it's not your business. It's CCP's call.

Ok, so neither of us can claim to know what the overall playerbase opinion is. A threadnaught just means a lot of people posted. It doesn't say how many were on each side, or how representative those opinions were. What is a fact (yup, it really is one this time) is that out of the overall playerbase, a minority of people voiced disapproval on the forums.

Ok, maybe that was poorly worded on my part. Of course you have the right to demand answers. You just don't have the right to answers. CCP has the right to ignore you. You can have the opinion that this wouldn't be good business sense for them to do so, but what makes good business sense for them is something that they'll decide for themselves. Also, from what I've seen, saying she doesn't like and often badmouths the game seems a little misrepresentative. Maybe I'm missing the smoking gun evidence here, but the opinions I saw were pretty tame and were about a section of the playerbase rather than the game as a whole. Am I missing something? True. I'm looking at the problem from a more relational sense. The company is dependent on a rather passionate player base, so watching and planning around reactions of that base (or planning ahead) is key. But from a purely business perspective...who knows? I just thought it a bad move to hire her, of all the people available, to rep anything related to CCP.

Chribba does not have children. He reproduces by tearing the fabric of space time and cloning himself. In regards to her comments; she deleted them. Twitter, TY, FB, blog, all deleted. She forgot her Twitter and someone screen capped it right before she deleted it though.

Therein lies a lot of the problem. Those who don't get it now probably never will. Everything just looks like "he said/she said" to the newcomer on this topic, because she purged just about all of the evidence being held up against her. It's basically the equivalent of trying to prove someone guilty in court after they were allowed to ransack the evidence room and burn the contents. |

Hey OP,
Did you know that those banks that got bailed out in 2007 are still getting money (Quantitative Easing) permanently, to the tune of billions a month?
And those banks were bailed out because of poisoned assets brought on by the housing bubble that the same banks started with their debt monetization scheme.
Yet there is an article on ZeroHedge regarding the skyrocketing cost of housing that SHOULD be dropping because the banks are taking that permanent QE money and buying up foreclosed houses.
Houses that were owned by people who are being robbed by the Federal Reserve as it prints money to give to the banks.
Now, if you want to be angry about something, you should start with that. Ok?
So after you quit Eve, and good riddance I say, please join the various Occupy or End The Fed activist groups and lend your support to fighting this mess.
I may be leaving too if the majority of the player base is like you. I just won't want to be associated you see. That's how pathetic this is. |

Yeah, because none of us have rage quit and called CCP bad names. Hell, I was one of the harshest voices during the Fearless debacle. I was right there at the Jita monument (and disco bombing the Perimeter gate warp in, but that is me). We all have our moments where we hate this game and the company but overall we keep coming back because we love it.
Ok, so she is not as "grimdark" as us. So what? She has less active say in how Eve runs than Dolan, the man of many mustaches. She is a COMMUNITY REP for a game that while tied to the Eve Universe is its own seperate game. She is not balancing ships, making game design decisions, or making any decisions at all in the Eve universe. She is a cute face that maybe will do some videos for Dust and attract the attention of undersexed boys in a manner similar to Nikasaur in League of Legends. She will not have an actual impact on our game.

I doubt she got the job by being apathetic about the game. Part of a company's hiring process is normally aimed at finding people who are enthusiastic about whatever they'll be involved in. Whatever remarks she's made in the past are from before she was under any obligation to weigh up how the rest of the community will view her words - she wasn't an employee then.
I'm also not particularly worried about whether she fits the whole "grimdark" thing, either. She's a DUST community rep. Her role is to interact with and foster the DUST community. Let's be realistic, she's not about to somehow singlehandedly fill New Eden with unicorns and rainbows. Even if she wanted to, it's not happening. |

I'm assuming I haven't seen all this relevant stuff but that it was there, but I have more faith in the CCP's HR team to recruit someone appropriate than I have in the forum mobs to decide. I did see some of her opinions, they seemed quite tame. I'm sure I've come across worse on the forums.
I also think it's quite appropriate for anything that could be seen as harmful to her new role at CCP to be removed. Whatever comments were made, they were from before the time she was a CCP employee. She was under no obligation to represent the company in a good light, or even to be balanced. If she was pissed off with some players, she had every right to say what she thought without considering if it would be appropriate to say as an employee - beceause she wasn't one. However, now she's been hired by them, it's quite appropriate if some, or all, of those are now deleted, because the context that they will be interpreted in has now changed.

I white knight like a boss, unapologetically. Just ask damsels in distress CCP Punkturis, Trebor Daedhow or Mike Azariah. (So far Trebor's been the only one to put out the "proper" reward. Thanks Treb. Best I ever had. It is true what they say about experience.)
Whenever someone is using specious logic to justify an unwarranted personal attack, I find it difficult to stay silent.
What other CCP hire has required them to provide evidence to support the hire? Not one. That's nuts. Particularly not for a community rep. They don't have to justify hires to the community that way. Even crazier since you can easily check the number of followers to her channel, and even read the comments saying "I started playing EVE because of your videos". There actually is publicly available evidence that she helped CCP for years before even being hired. She did pretty well building a following with amateur self-produced spots. If she does vids for CCP, they can help her raise the production quality.
Even the part were she got frustrated with getting harassment and quit EVE makes sense to me. CCP hiring her, healed that bad publicity and they gained an employee that understands being harassed and can help others deal with it.
As for her being female, not sure I can blame her for that or see that as a problem. She was born that way. Not every female has that many followers on YouTube, and has led that many people to the game. Its not just about her gender, that's an obviously false assertion.

So fkn sad.
So much hate but the Jelly is clearly flowing between the lines. I don't understand the poor behavior this community has toward the girl.
Look at it this way - most of you have more in common with her than not. Example: Most of you only sleep with men.

Honestly, had a certain CCP employee not "bucked the trend" about being anonymous regarding past lives, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
In fact, outing a CCP employee's past life can get you in trouble around these parts.
I mean, would we be having any sort of discussion, had the post gone "Hey, I'm CCP GunStorm, the new community rep for DUST. I'm known for my video blogs on games, and being one of the few geek girl gamers in the world. I'm really excited to be on the CCP team!"
Nobody would have said a word. Don't worry miners, I'm here to help!

From what I've seen there is really not one piece of evidence that can back up CCP's actions on this decision, once again from what I have seen. Just because someone has a youtube channel full of videos that imo suck (I'm mean suck bad) does not make them gud enough imo. kil2 (CCP Rise) earned his position, not because of his gender (if that even matters but apparently it does in some circles) but because he contributed something tangible and productive. Everyone kissing a@@ just because needs to seriously quit and think with your big head, not the little one.
Yeah, 'cos obviously people who disagree are only doing so because they're trying to get laid... that's a pretty stupid argument you got there. |

Not that you should have more faith in the 'forum mobs' but....

You just interpret it that way because you disagree with me, which probably says much more about you than it does about me.

I have a problem believing they changed their mind after months and months of bashing and were suddenly so enthusiastic about it all..

Let's be realistic, she's not about to somehow singlehandedly fill New Eden with unicorns and rainbows. Even if she wanted to, it's not happening. No, but as a community rep, she is to bring the concerns and grievances of her community, being the DUSTies. Since she's so pro-HKO, I can see her pushing to make DUST less harsh, less grimdark, etc. Just something I don't like. Eve is what Eve is. And please stop trying to separate DUST from Eve. They are the same thing in the same verse. That was the point of making DUST, to expand the Eve universe and make it one giant thing. That and a LOT of Eve players are on DUST.

If so - small world...
I find that without a good mob to provide one for them, most people would have no mentality at all. |

Maybe, if you were there in the interview room and read her application and CV, you would understand the decision. Or maybe you still wouldn't. But you weren't, so.. good luck dealing with that problem?

And if the DUST players want unicorns and rainbows, she'd be absolutely right to push those concerns on to CCP. She wouldn't be doing her job if she ignored it.. but IF it became an issue at some point, the problem would lie in the fact that it's what DUST players wanted, because what SHE wants wouldn't be relevant. But anyway, it's all conjecture. Maybe the sky will fall somewhere in the future, but right now it's up there doing fine. |
