I don't think a ****load of money is CCP's goal, or they'd have sold out and made some carebear friendly game like World of Wardencraft.
Also, if SOE owned EVE, you'd hit f10, picka system, then right click and select 'go here'. Then you'd teleport to that system instantly. Also, you would retain your implants when podded, assuming you could afford the basic 1k sps clone that cost 2.5trillion isk.

the same SWG with its own built in macro maker? select target, shoot, wait 20 seconds, goto line 1. stick a matchstick in the keyboard so you spin in circles in a field full of easy mobs and go watch a couple of movies. you come back with a boat load of xp for doing nothing. good thinking SOE!

Oh the days of SWG, played it for a year, had the triple crown, still sucked, then some noob macros for a day and kicks your arse. Got my force powers went to where ever it was and the guy that gave you the powers said you have to wait or something, after 2 days i quit and never went back.
SOE suck bigger than a big sucky thing on big sucky day in big sucky land.

Well I've never played any multiplayer online games other than EVE, and after reading this thread I'm sure I picked the right one!! Scary... still I guess there's a market for that sort of game, not everyone's as intelligent as us lot.

I cancelled my SWG subscription back in February of this year, and I'd been playing since one month after release. In my noobishness (SWG was my first MMORPG), I failed to realize that waiting for SOE to fix what was wrong with the game was a lost cause (I also failed to realize that SOE inevitably just makes things worse, not better), and spent many months with my SWG subscription still active while I played EVE.
Anyway, all ramblings aside, all of the derogatory things that have been mentioned in this thread in regards to SOE are true, in my experience. I'm extremely glad that CCP seems to care more about producing a quality product than lining their pockets.

With SWG, I really hated the fact you had to find someone to train in order to advance your skills beyond a certain point. And those damn butterflies/frogs/weevils. Come on, at least Eve's basic cannon-fodder don't sound so feeble even if they are!

i got way better support from GM's on planetside than i have EVER got on eve.
granted i was having to speak to them alot.
1000X more often than i do with Gm's here.

SOE would probably cancel the drone changes, and introduce tier 3 drones with small neon colored skirts who do melee damage in an physical space, requiring heavy physics.

Mmmm, SOE or NCSoft? imagine EVE like Lineage 2... extremely unbalanced PVP, spending around 3 years to build a Battleship, being bad (pirating) punished, magic hangars...
