Pheona Black wrote:Hey Guys,
Whats the matter with you?? I have been playing EVE since 2004, and since that time, I have never seen a more consistent game on the internet, unless it was some simple role playing game with a limited possible number of players.
If you only had any idea what it takes to run a game as complex as this one, you would realize all the possibilities of equipment failure there are. The failure can be caused by a number of things. Since I have been playing eve they have updated and modified the game to keep it interesting. How many other games can you count that do that.
If you remember some time ago, there was a game called Beyond Earth by EA. As soon as that became popular, and was overloading the servers, they took the easy way out and shut it down.
But not CCP, they increased the number of connections and updated their system.
Are there any other good space games that can say that.?
Quit knocking the people who brought your favourite game to you. A day or two of not playing won't hurt you. If you don't like the idea, go find another game to play and leave the serious players to EVE.
Your doing a good Job CCP, don't let these people put you down.
i will use the time to jump in my dragoon and haul 2sixpack-¦s of some cheap beer from my wormwhole ;) lets do some real stuff^^like building a real boat! or even ship together-¦-¦to proove that internet is a way to future ;) |

Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong. This is what it says whenever I try and login. it has been saying this since before the mass connection issues can anyone help explain what I need to do to fix the issue? |

I've only been playing for a few weeks and I can't help but point out the class of some folks or maybe I should say the lack of class is unbelievable. I have met some great folks and downtime happens but using such colorful language makes you look like an ILLITERATE, UNEDUCATED FOOL. You know who you are.
On the other note I look forward to meeting some of you in the skies. Thanks for fixing the problem CCP. |

I wanted to spend more time with my hubby....But since he works out on the road, and is only home a week or so here n there, I started playing EVE so we could connect more.
But on a serious note........There were very few issues with connectivity until they brought the new launcher online. They found out the very first day, when everyone was doing the downloads and updates that the servers could not handle the load, since everything is now routed thru one main login server for EVERYTHING EVE related. CCP needs to find a way to isolate that server from everything else. |

because the cost of an investigation would be more than the downtime, in a distributed denial of service most of the attack is coming from innocent people, they can try to do some reverse engineering of an executable, check a common place all the people involved in the attack are connecting too/etc, but the c&c server was probably set up and accessed via vpn and tor the entire way.
catching people is not easy. |

Emma Peirson Estemaire wrote:Anya Klibor wrote:I'm not one to complain about the servers being down, but this is getting ridiculous. How often are your servers going to do this? I have to agree with this pilot. The purpose in buy time to play EVE. Is to play EVE. Everything evolves around time in EVE. And it just happens that the weekend is my best time to play. Compensation for the time lost is the least EVE can do for it pilots. Everyone acts like its a gift when 50k in skill points are given out. When in reality if you make 500 to 600 mil in a day/night. You just lost out on the possibility to buy a plex. That may have allowed you to continue your alt for another 30 days. If I were given the choice between 50k in skill points or a plex. Give me the plex.
Or you can just get your 500 / 600 Mil a Day/Night when the Servers get back on and stop asking for free ****. Get over it, or move along. Do you seriously expect CCP to give each person a different amount of Money varying from Skill Points, which Ships and modules they can fly, and how effective their character could be? As much as I disagree with anything given for downtime, SP's is the best way to be fair on everyone. I'd rather CCP be working on the game rather than putting effort into your wanting. |

I'm okay with the downtime as it's part of running a mass server. I do like the bonus Sill Points that have been passed along so far and I think it's a great idea when players have lost Skill Training time when Skill Queues end while the server is offline. A bonus of ISK, a nominal amount, would be a nice touch as well due to the unscheduled downtime as many players would have normally spent Real Life time making some if they were online playing. Food for thought
