Still, it's the start of qualifying as just a one trick pony. Might've been impressive the first time. But now....

That he was allowed to push the button in the first place was the problem.
It's a lesson (in all games really) that officers are to be trusted only so far, due to this potential. In WoW it's not deleting the guild bank and taking the gold (that all can be replaced), it's splintering the guild and taking your best players away. Which is why officers are best to be RL friends and/or family, as you have to meet that guy/gal in RL...and no game is worth destroying both being friends and having a family.
Like BoB, Solar trusted random strangers on the internet. That's like giving someone your pin number to a total stranger. If you can't recruit offline with friends or family to protect assets, you really shouldn't have an alliance. As you will get hit like this, especially in a game where crime is allowed.
Street smarts is needed, and geeks better get with the program. There's no cops here, and fun and games can end pretty badly. "In a world of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." ~George Orwell

Little too easy when one player can destroy the work of thousands with very little effort. These things would make more sense if they were done by a core group of officers. One player, no sense at all. Alliances suck so all in all a good thing. |

I find it funny that people who are affected negatively by this complain about unfair game mechanics and that it's not fair. And then the same people say that ganking and bumping and gate camps are completely fine and 100% okay and allowed.
Make up your ruttin' minds.
I for one, think that all is fair in love and war. What the Goons managed to pull off with this is awesome, it's a feat worth recognizing. |

From what I understand, Goons had nothing to do with it except maybe giving some disgruntled, barely active Nulli CEO a bit of advice. It obviously wasn't planned or the mop up operation wouldn't be going so damn fast.

I don' t know about that. There are insinuations that it was planned, albeit short notice. We'll never really know for sure unless someone speaks up.
That being said, I'm surprised (or maybe I've missed it) that nobody has argued the fact that the account seemed to be shared among several people. Having an account hacked and things (isk, sov) restored is one thing, willingly sharing your information with others is a completely different scenario. As with the theme of Eve: you risked it, you lost it. Tough shite.

My point was that it almost certainly wasn't a goon plot to bring down S2N and advance the Fountain war, contrary to what a lot of people seem to be thinking.
According to Totalini over on TM.com:
Quote: It was Xenophilius Lovegood. A director in LNAW. Xeno used to be a member of the diplo team and High Command in S2N, he got removed from the high command and the diplo team for being inactive for about 6 months. He suddenly became active after this and pretty much emoed out and used his friends account to do as much damage as possible.

Indeed.
22. You may not share your account password with anyone. Infraction of this rule is done at your own risk. Further information on account transfers can be found in the EULA.
Admitting it was shared is going to make the hacking portion much harder to prove as the "hacker" can claim it was shared with them, and it just turns into a big he said/she said. My twitch stream to help new players: http://www.twitch.tv/biohazrd51

One thing it did was expose this blue horseshoe. Theres been a lot of talk about the blue donut over the last year and hurf blurf about how nobody wants to fight anybody because of 'sov'
Then goons go on the warpath and everyone with no dog in the race can just show up for fights.
Sov gets dropped in 200 renter systems and all of a sudden Shadoo is tweeting about how he has to resub to 'fix' the problem, the problem being that the rent must flow.
Over 24 hours an ungodly amount of hitpoints and sov is grinded whereas before everyone said it was too much hassle, until the rent is threatened, thus revealing the blue horseshoe and the heart of everything that is wrong in 0.0 today: renters- alliances that will conquer space, not to live or play or cultivate it, but to rent it out, then unsub |
