EveWho.com has been seen on the EO forums before but this is the official announcement.
Stats at time of posting:
2,363,834 Characters
148,505 Corporations
2,392 Alliances
About: EveWho allows the public to easily list the members of a Corporation or Alliance.
Disclaimer: All numbers based on known characters and may differ from in game values. All characters found by scavenging killboards, forums, eve-search, and finding holes in character id sequence data and filling them.
Features:
- View members of an Alliance
- View members of a Corporation
- View employment history of a Character out of game.
- Easy links to several intel sources, such as EveKill & Dotlan.
- Average Security Status of Corps & Alliances.
- Top 10 lists for many, many different comparisons between Corporations and Alliances.
Upcoming Features:
- Listing of everyone in a corp at a certain date or all time.
- Comparison of memberships between multiple corps (all time).
- Character association based on corp memberships. {maybe}
- Corporation history in alliances. {maybe}
- Working with EveKill to get Top Pilot statistics.
- Working with EveKill to obtain information about SuperCap pilots. {maybe}
Will Never do:
- Accept isk to de-list an entity from EveWho, not even for 5 billion
Upcoming features is limited on my time to write code, how lazy I feel, and how difficult it is to write queries that are quick and efficient for that particular item.

It's not open source.
It's built with php.
It uses the CCP API with custom created fetchers and methods to figure out id blocks that are missing.
How can i know this?: I talk to Squizz, and was there during the development of it ;) |

Yup, use CCP's api for this! It's silly for me to add an API which is already handled and done well by CCP.

A new feature I should have added a long time ago has been added!
You can now view the history of people that have joined a corporation:

Nope, I don't censor the comments. You probably got autofiltered for spam. *checking* Yup, you sure did, lots of links like you posted will look like spam to any filter. I went and ahead and put them through for you.

yep, but those are links to evewho so kinda pointless to spam with them :)
Then i tried just a list of nicknames and that also didnt work, maybe at that point my account was already flagged as spamming

I've noticed folks searching for corp [TICKR] and alliance TICKR and the results aren't always what they are expecting. I've adjusted the search code to give you the results your want.

Just reached a milestone of 3 million characters being tracked. Yet, this is still only a fraction of the total number of characters created in Eve Online all time.

Characters are updated every few days. Also, I might not have the missing character in the database. If you know who it is search for their name and they'll get added automatically.

Just wondering if you take idea requests. If you do I got one for you.
The data you have has the Current Corp and Corp history for a character. Say your a member of a corp for a long time and you take a break. you come back everyone is gone, players are blown to the wind. What I was thinking was a "where are they now" kinda sorting. You already have the page for corp former members. What would be great on that page is not just their name but a column for there current Corp.
Dotlan does this great for former corps in an Alliance see link below. They list the former Corps but list there current alliance. Now of course you can click on each name and see where they are so the data is there but it would be simpler. Also a alliance column might be good. So each ex-member of a Corp you can see they are in CorpA & AllianceG now. Just an Idea, Fly Safe

The api function is pretty annoying.
If you're using it, that means you're reading in player names for a corp. Corps with over 200 members known will have 10+ pages. On the 10th page request it triggers your "hammering a website isn't very nice ya know.... please wait 30 seconds" message.
I appreciate the desire to prevent needless scraping of your website, but the measure you've employed is a little too simple and is prone to trigger during legitimate use. |
