Early investigation of the issue is pointing at a loss of network connection to the server, not a Tranquility crash. Difficulties in reconnecting to EVE can be attributed to 14k players attempting to re-establish their connection to EVE and hammering the log-in server.
Further investigation of the loss of connection to the server will follow. At this time, no more connectivity issues are expected.

Ahem ... coming from other MMORPGs ... a downtime/disconnect of 2 minutes is very acceptable IMHO.

Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong.
tranquility gives 14k of people and i only see this and internet runs
second attempt i come in but what was this

We're getting ready to deploy the Turbo Gerbils, just in case.
If items were lost due to this issue, please submit a petition. The GMs have been instructed to reimburse losses accordingly.

well, the ilford BT server is dead, just checked the traffic report, and I'm getting booted continuously, sometimes I get logged in, sometimes not even that far.
