The only other stat i'm remotely good at is this:
25 Spaceship Command skills trained, for a total of 11,379,802 skillPoints.
10 of those 25 are on lvl 5.
23 skills left to train in that group.... although i have the pre-reqs for 4 of the new ones already.

Did you get all 7 agent skills?
Which Dreadnought and Frighters have you trained.
Have you bothered with that trade skill that need l5 of a trade skill that needed l5 trade... Something that lets you have tons of orders?
Can you post/url of screen shot of skill thingy or complete list. So i can spot and compare which ones im missing or have you havent etc.

crap he has more sp then i do.. though mine are less spread out
33.5 mil in about 160 skills
and 29 mil on 135 skills, better focus on my secodn account

All of the "basic" S M and L skills trained to 5. All of the support skills (obviously) trained to 5. The whole projectile tree apart from 1 skill is at 5 and both hybrid and laser each have one S spec skill to 5.

I keep a list of my skills on my corp's forum. I just do a quick search and it'll tell me how many of a skill level I have. I've played around with the EMD some too. Real nice way of keeping track of your skills.

I didn't want to derail the thread with either a) whining or b) flaming me for whining
Maybe in Jan. I'll post elsewhere so folks can take their pot shots there... But to be short and sweet: the Science (as well as Industry from what I see) careers are not fun for me. There's little to no tactical decisions to be made. The reward aspect of Science is based solely on whether you win in the lottery, something that I have only managed once (granted, I only have 4 agents, but 6 x zero == 4 x zero in my mind). From a personal satisfaction view, I don't see that this character is effectively more productive than a Science alt with probably as little as 6 or 7 mil SP, and certainly no more than 10 or 12--enough to run 6 agents in 1-6 areas with L5 skill. And with the low chances of winning the lottery, L5 skill is probably not that much of a win.
The only fun gameplay I can see in Eve is combat, particularly PvP, and since I neither like Eve's combat mechanisms nor enjoy PvP for the sake of it, I have zero insterest in switching.
And since I don't believe in character selling, you won't be seeing a doppelganger show up Given the overall usefulness of the science skills, I bet it would only fetch a price nearer to that of a 20 mil char, if that.
And I have very little Stuff, none of it useful, to give.

If u gonna quit, sell the char to someone, for like 40-50b or something ,and do something fun with the money, like give some to freinds, do a small event etc, would be both a fun thing for you to do and for people who will participate =)

I can understand the sentiment, but it's kind of silly in my opinion to quit because of this... Tech 2 is hardly the end of the road you know Stuff from COSMOS will certainly require special skills to make the stuff, not to mention coming Tech levels. On the other hand, it might feel silly paying waiting for stuff that will come later.

Very doable, and I like the statistic because it is a measure of specialization. I've built the ratio into my underlying spreadsheet and I will add a top 10 on this with the next forum update. The top two figures in my current database are 364 and 357 thousand points per skill (myself and Rhyslin, respectively)...I know there are higher figures from a recent post on the subject but I'm not going to go there and extract those figures. Hopefully those competitors will post their information here once the top 10 list is out

I'm already up to 12 mil SP in Eng/Elect skills, but, going out to a fight? Are you crazy?
For one, there's no way I feel like doing what I would need to do to get enough of an ISK stream to support a combat lifestyle, between clones, ships, etc. While I suppose clone jumping might allow me to protect my implants, I don't actually have enough cash to replace either of the +3's I care about (and yes, still just +3's).
Second, I really don't find combat interesting....

333107 SP/skill for me. 28316264 skillpoints in 76 skills and only 45 of em are lvl5 atm. So still room for lotsa improving on that end. Makes for 60% of all my skills are lvl5 though, guess that's pretty high. ( 2 are at above 80% too lvl 5 too ) Hmmm specialisation is lovely. And in the coming 6 months or so I'll add 4 new skills at most.( squadron command, battlecruiser, command ship and med arti spec. )

Everybody has those, got a missile tree I never use ( only 6 skills though ) and small energy turret, and mining drones, and destroyers which I never fly and never will.

119 skills, 39.36 million skill points, 63 level 5 skills. All learning and advanced learning skills except Presence are level 5. My specialties are trade (all 12 trade skills, including black market trade, are level 5) and mining (Apoc, Covetor, relevant industry skills). Other level 5s are support skills in engineering, electronics, navigation, mechanic and drones.

Have 220 skills and 41,417,347 skill points for 188,260 SP per Skill. But if you look at the 4 areas I have concentrated on, Drones, Gunnery, Science, and Spaceship Command, it jumps up to 293,916 SP per skill, and five of the skills are actually at 0 SP still.

Well, what I did not say was I only did the SP in those areas with the number of skills in those areas. Not the whole 41 million vs those 4 areas. So in the 4 areas I actually concentrated on, I have that. Oh, and yes, I have Amarr BS 5 and Large Energy Turrent 5 too, goes well with laser specialization :)

Well, I a far from pure PvP, but If you take the 10 million off for Industry and Science, I have 31 million SP in combat related skills.

All relative, Got 2 mil skillpoints total in those 3 fields. But it makes up for less then 6% of my total skillpoints, rest is pure combat( and learning )

Well there's another option possible:
Most SP in one skill (or highest rank skill trained to lvl5)
on a tie you takes second (or 3rd or 4th ...) skill.
Lots of people will have 1 rank 8 trained to lvl5, but where's the people with a rank 9 or higher trained to 5 ??

I still have 3x cruiser, 3x BS, 3x Large turret, some missile skills, *all* gun/missile specialisations etc to train before i get stuck with the 100M+ skills
I already got some of the expensive skills, if you call up to 40M expensive. (transport ships, research proj. man., adv. lab. ops., all drone specialisations, cynosural field theroy etc)
I could already train capital ship construction, but thats too expensive for now.
Friday i'll have *all* electronics skills, for industry im only missing adv. mass prod, i have all science skills that have R&D agents, for engineering im missing only the capital skills, same for mechanic (plus outpost construction)
A quick look in the ECM queue gives me 8 new skills in januari, and 20-30 overall "affordable" skills yet to be trained.
How many skills needed to get into the top 5?

Well I'd say judging that the last place in the top 5 is 239, and by time you are to that number it will likely be around 245 it is still doable. Probably not without purchasing some rare or expensive skills, but it is doable. The Capital skills are probably going to be some of the harder ones to get because of the time involved training for them, where as ones like cosmos don't take as long to train for but they cost a bit more.

For me its still just a hobby, granted: the 201 skills I have are not all very usefull to me, and some were somewhat expensive.
I still hope to do something usefull with this char, like say T2 production (give me a few days and i can build any T2 component/ship out there.. oh and also: give me a BPO :)
I'll settle for a place in the top 10 then, that should be doable...
Whats the number of skills i need for a top 10 position?
PS: I have 201 skills on only 13M skillpoints, is there a prize for that?

about the number of level 5 skills, i think it would be better if you take the number of ranks of level 5 instead of simply the number of skills at level 5
to me, someone with 150 ranks in 50 level 5 skills is better than someone with 140 ranks in 55 skills |

You would need an additional 22 skills to be in the top 10, by time you get there I'd estimate 25-30, so still doable, nice skill number for the number of SP.

Tripoli: Could the 3 "top 10" lists be maintained in the top post?
I can get 20 extra "affordable" skill in 2 months and a bit.
This does not include skills like "Outpost Construction" (90M) or Capital Ship Construction (67M), or the connections skills or anything like that..
If I could throw that kind of money into it, things would go faster, but as it stands: I have no T2 BPO, so my production skills go to waste ...
Anyone need help from a widely skilled production char? (I can produce any given T2 item within a week of skilling for that BPO, also any T2 components, or, if you provide the skillbook: capital ship components)

Got my hands on "Mining Foreman" (and hacked the ECM Skills.xml to be able to see it), and finished "Targeting V", so i now have *all* electronics skills.
PS for those that had "Mining Foreman" break ECM:
 Exit/Close ECM
Go into "Skills.xml"
Find the line that says: "<skillCategoryName>Leadership</skillCategoryName>"
Right after that line insert:

The ECM ppl will flame me for posting this, because hacking the xml is not supported, and they are working on a properly tested new version of the skills.xml, which will include this skill, and presumably several more, maybe even the new "ScaryRace Technology" skills (although i dont know how they'll manage to get the ID of a skill that isn't in the itemdatabase)
This trick HAS NOT been properly tested, I use it and it works fine for me, I cant guarantee anything for you!

Also broke 39 mil skill points today. Sadly my non-ideal skill training is going to continue for quite a while to come. Skill collecting means training some of everything, and I'm about to start crunching a lot of perction/willpower skills, which use some of my worst attributes. Perception is my worst.
Oh well, I knew I could never compete for total SP anyways thanks to Dr Caymus. It's not even possible for me to catch him with the way he uber-specializes.
Well, now that I've got all eight COSMOS skills out of the way, maybe I can start building my wallet up again. I'm flat broke thanks to those stupid rare skills.

Question, request Can Tripoli or someone post the entire list of available Cosmos skills, The list of cosmos skills Tripoli has trained/is missing. The number of cosmos skills that exists in the eve db, as oposed to the number that can be gained within the game (ie if a region has no agents can you still get that faction skill) and if anyone knows a rough price guide. Like the old Agent skills some of them such as labor connections was ultra rare since no one used that sort of boring courrier agent...

Character manager lets you export a html with skills by training time, it will list all your lvl 5s on top as being done. ( doesn't give rank information though )

Im pretty specialized
37,2 mill sp on 143 skills all in Amarr ships and lasers.
Less than 500 k in Carebear skills.
11,4 in laser gunnery 9,8 in Amarr spaceships
Can(and do) fly a Dread and Carrier with all relevant skills at lvl 4.
The Gallente ideals of Freedom, Liberty and Equality will be met by the Amarr realities of Lasers, Armor and Battleships.

A couple of you guys have suggested starting a new thread which would place the lists at the top, allowing for frequent edits to keep the lists current. I do believe a figure of 55 million is theoretically possible (but not anywhere close to 60 million. I'm probably a million points or so behind my personal theoretical max as a result of missing a few days (cumulative) of training, training a couple of million points worth of suboptimal (to me) skills, and not plugging in +5 implants as soon as they became available. I'll do some more research and calculation on this when I get back.
One thing I did not do was vigorously engage in activities that awarded extra skill points (I'll be careful not to use the "e" word here) during the period of time that this was possible early in the game's history. Some players reputedly amassed million or more (maybe alot more?) extra skillpoints in that way.
And also, my attributes are almost perfect for my career, but not absolutely perfect. The Minmatar/Sebiestor character (like Rhyslin) can be formulated to perform fractionally better.
Of course, the database stats give rise to other questions:
Are there +6 or +7 implants in the game?
Do the CCP guys have a few "ringer" accounts in Tranquility that would show up in the data?
Are they testing boosters in Tranquility?
Mwuhaha...this is getting exciting

Back in the days you used to gain skill point by activating modules. Thus you could ramp say mining lvl5 just by mining and learning something other on the side. There were few of these skills, which might give you the 5m to top the theoretical maximum.

Just saw the post about this on the page before... still would like to know who is #1, and how long has he been #1.. Dr. C was always #1 but perhaps not... and we never knew it!
Also- as to the feature you mentioned about players increasing their skills by other means... I do remember some claims that using some items alot back in the day increased skills in those area's... tbh I think I believed it too, I believe this was in mechanic's... but could have been my imagination, and of course its not true now...

This feature was actually in game until about christmas 2003, if I'm not quite mistaken it was the castor patch that changed it.

Just passed the 54 million point mark
The next revision to the Top 10 lists will this Sunday, March 12 at midnight GMT. This revision will be in the form of a new post so that the lists will be at the top for easy editing.
To encourage participation, I am thinking of expanding the lists a bit...maybe 12 or 15 per list...let me know what you think.
The Total Skill Points list will continue to be a compilation of participants that have reported here. So....if you unknown 50-60 million-point characters really exist...show us a screenie of your attributes and skill totals by category and join in

And alas the longest thread I've ever started will come to an end.
If you're willing to keep track of them all, I think a top 15, heck even a top 20 list would be great. People love seeing their name near the top.

Just an idea of what would be cool and also let some more ppl compete on some rankings, but also rather lot of work to maintain so up to whoever is gonna do that, would be to have statistics of each category. Who got most gunnery, science, drones and so on.
