The storyline agent Zalloronde Algogille, at Oursulaert III - Federation Navy Testing Facilities, needs to be moved. Lots of people try to avoid hub lag for a reason, and sending them there several times a week does not help.
Please move the agent to a Federation Navy station in Aunia / Dodixie / Eglennaert, that sort of area. Nice and safe space, no superhub.

Great, I'm stuck in an Oursulaert node crash because the game mechanics essentially force me to be there. It's not like I can move to a different storyline agent. God knows I would love to, though!

That's constructive; if a part of the game's broken, let's just ignore or never try to use it instead of implementing a simple solution

Its the simple truth. Like it or not, i couldn't really care. And moving an agent is hardly simple. Mine was out for about 2 weeks when they moved him.
Put up or shut. AKA adapt or quit.
Im sure CCP are more than aware of the problem, hence the fact they started moving agents in the first place.

Perhaps you missed this suggestion. Not everyone is aware that you do NOT have to do storyline missions. If you ignore them, you do NOT lose standigs. You only lose standings if you accept the mission then FAIL

Perhaps he needs the standings increase to get to better agents?
Your suggestion is unhelpful at best, as the OP mentioned, lots of people try to avoid Ours, it does not help that game mechanics pretty much force you to go there to progress at speed.

Agreed. spot on.
The only reason I ever visit Oursulaert is to do his missions.

Agree the agents need moving, bu tha Aunia/Dodixie/Eglennaert is now possibly the laggiest section of the universe
All the decent agents based in the Scoluzer region now live there and even through there is never more than 100 ppl in local the lag is ridiculous.
The agents need splitting up, not just moving

Edited by: Jarek Naumen on 13/02/2006 14:13:25 Yeah i got stuck in Oursulaert too when i had to do a storyline mission for Zaloronde Algogille.
And for those who say: "oh you don't have to do storyline missions" , you are just proving your own stupidity and ignorance. This is not about storyline missions it's about LAG and overcrowded systems. Moving ALL agents from Oursulaert would be a simple means to lessen the traffic there. Oursulaert/Jita pretty much crashes on each sunday and that is just ridiculous.

Moving him to Luminaire would be good. Only 3 jumps away and rarely too laggy. There's already a Navy station there too. That and a Ours bypass! |

Strangly enough i dont think the agent move will help
I lived in Rens for a long time spanking agdel and the L3's there. after the agent move (which wasnt a big issue) but it didnt slove the rens lag/superhub problem. its become a real lame system now and STILL has 150-200+ people and all in and out of BTT. a few people moved with the agents but most of all. it just changed it into a crappy system. the bigest cause of the superhubs was the Nerfbatganking of Yuali and the gate removals.
as to the game mechanics thats just BS and i dont mean Battleship. there are ALOT of agents spread around that give out missions and kill/trade/courrier/mining all types.
CCCP created a Multi varied agent system. and its the Players that do not use it effectivly. Personally i found a nice Lag free system with FIVE !!!!! L4 agents nice belts good Quality agents, Good quality missions. it was only after the agent move that forcved me to find a new place to live.
This wasnt CCP's fault. It was because i was stuck grinding and was too lazy to play any different.

Fingers crossed!
I've ignored a couple of important missions from this guy in Oursulaert now because I just don't want to go there and lose a ship because of the lag.

You don't understand. It doesn't matter where I move. The agent I'm talking about is a Storyline agent, and no matter where I do missions, I get sent to him. Each time. I'd have to switch to a different faction to avoid going to Oursulaert. So this is most definitely a game mechanics imbalance, which lag or no lag needs sorting anyway.

hey hey
Np i thought u ment normal agents, however Storyline agents are a pain wherever u are. but i found a handy workaround.
Grind missions till u get your storyline, Grind more missions and you WILL get a storyline from another agent. hence problem solved theres a couple more workarounds with storyline agents too, But hey, thats just me adapting to the ingame mechanics.

Because of work committments, I cannot guarantee I will get a second storyline mission before the week is up. But hey, that's just me adapting to real life.

another workaround then,
change your normal agent. i found this would help as agents tend to send you to the same storyline agent. Working for the smae corp over and over just sends you to the same agent. Change Corp and you should get sent to the corps storline dude or dudette.

I have worked for L3 and L4 agents at Federation Navy, Chemal Tech, Astral Mining and CreoDron, in a multitude of divisions spanning pure kill, pure courier and a combination of missions, in Sinq Laison, Verge Vendor and Essence regions. All sent me to Zalloronde Algogille, in spite of other Gallente Federation storyline agents being available right next door.
The situation is absurd.
There are Federation Navy stations in regions of other sovereignties, but the agents there are by and large crap.
Whatever random number generator they use to generate storyline referrals, it is completely broken.

Here's an idea, don't try to go to Oursulaert on a Sunday during peak times. I am not suggesting ignoring the mission, but you do have a week to do them. Also, they would not likely move the agent out of his existing region, so suggesting a move to Aunia, Dodixie, and the like not such a good suggestion.

Well, one can also hope the lag is improved (in a lessening fashion) by the new clusters.

I point to last Wednesday night and the three node crashes within an hour, followed by server reboot and the deadspace pocket disappearing afterwards. The agent accepted the mission as completed the following day, I just got a load of hassle, no bonus and no 3m in bounties.
I'm hoping the lag situation is improved after the cluster replacement. I'm also hoping the storyline agent referral system is reviewed for bugs.

It seem that your advice has been taken, this agent (my only storyline agent at the moment) has in fact been moved to Aunia. Unfortunately (for me!?) the missions he gives me are still all talking about and reside in Oursulaert, which means a 10 jump round trip to get the mission started, do the mission, then return for the reward and the next part of the missions.
I hope this is just a side effect of this particular series of missions being started BEFORE the move and that any subsequent missions will be aimed at Aunia, but at the moment this is a huge waste of time and very annoying, it needs fixing.
