Freaking quit it people!
He volunteered to edit a video representing a minority playstyle in a videogame, among many he probably plays, which are one thing in his life. The other things got in the way, he got a bit burned out maybe, maybe he underestimated the scope of the whole thing.
So what?
He doesnt owe you anything and him saying he's almost done and that it'll be released shortly does not entail he now owes you either. He's just trying to reassure you he's doing the best he can to deliver and he's not sitting on his ass.
It's funny how i though the best thing solo'ing in this game thought me is to understand other people, i was probably wrong, or maybe most of the complainers aren't soloers.
/back to being able to cope with waiting for a pvp video

I think it's just the people who were very excited about this from the start. That excitement has kinda faded. One of the best things about EVE videos is that you can, to an extent, recreate them - at least while the ships and the meta are the same. The further away you get from when those videos were created, the further past the 'best before' date you get. The new release schedule is helping this video feel less and less relevant, and while things are probably much the same as they were months ago - it doesn't feel that way.
Personally, this project was exactly what I wanted to see, it's the aspect of this game that I love to think about and even though I'm **** in practice - I can theorycraft for hours, watch some short videos and sometimes even undock and go try something. Seeing a collaborative project from the solo pvpers of eve, watching a video compilation of the best fights and then taking some of the fits and trying them on for size was exactly what I wanted to do. I'm sure others are just as if not more passionate about solo pvp and the idea of this video as I am, and because of that I think it's easy to see why people are unhappy with how it has (or has not) turned out so far.
Personally, I still love watching some old videos but the magic of feeling I COULD DO THAT!* isn't there any more - they are no longer relevant. And while I am sure I will love watching this when it's done - I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was released earlier.
Saying that, it could just be that I've read this thread and the updates and responses from both sides are becoming increasingly toxic. That and the white knights are pissing me off cause they're **** *****.

On other forums I was always joking about EVE: The Sociopathy Simulator, but I'm honestly regreting this now, since I apparently was really close to the truth if people like you are around. |

Just a quick update. I finished one of the fights that caused alot of troubles, which leaves us with 2 fights that still need most work and 1 fight that is nearly done. In addition there is the intro which is still causing trouble.
We are getting close, but I will be gone for the weekend so can't work on it there.

Now that you mention the easy way, I've finally sat down and made my own collection of failures into a video.

Well I'm sure no one here will disagree that we we're not getting anywhere near the storytelling of episodes 4-6, (I've ignored 1-3 as even existing) but who expects that kind of character development, etc. from an eve pvp video anyway? Also tech has come such a long way since the 80's I don't imagine even Return of the Jedi can compare to the graphic quality of an Eve pvp video (even done the "easy way.") |

A short update.
I finished a fight last night which leaves us with 1 fight unedited \o/
Aside from that fight there are still 2 other major tasks: The intro which I will cut down a little bit to save time (I still want it to be cool but not that fancy as I original intended). And gathering it all up which may be more complicated than expected as each fights has been edited to stand out on their own and I haven't really been paying that much attention to the overall picture. Still, should be manageable.

Alright guys. Today I managed to finish the intro (or rather a draft) I have shared it with a couple of people so I'm waiting for feedback before I wrap up the small details (should be fairly manageable). Once that is done there is only 1 fight left and then putting it all together.
