Since about 18:00 the whole of EVE seems to have suddenly got excessively laggy. Something's gone wrong it seems.
Time for a reboot?

Talking to an agent and opening cans etc is very laggy and this is in an empty (save for me) system.

the server needs to be rebooted immediatly, nearly everyone in gallente corp chat is saying they have lag that they dont usually get, i too have really bad lag (i never ever have lag), also i keep getting error messeges when trying to accept an agent mission and alos random error messages every few mins ;) CCP PLZ THIS IS PRETTY SERIOUS LAG!

Yes I am suffering badly, and that damn mission window popping up everytime i do something is irritating.
Bouncing of cans and it says im too far away.

I've been flying around in system with a completely blank overview for about three minutes. All windows are lagged like very laggy things. I thought we'd vanquished the lag demon with the new cluster?

We were getting rubber-banding warping 4 people to a gate in a fairly deserted part of 0.0. At about the same time people all over the place in chat channels started having big lag issues.
Something's definately gone fubar in the last hour or so, so might be an idea to get the reboot out of the way before the Friday busy period really gets going. Not that there's any guarantee that'll fix it, but worth a try.

yup in Pure blind there was some lag ago and i prolly lost my mega due that (unless if posible for a typhoon start mwd from 35 to 17km in 5 secs)
Anyway seem not lag now and all systems running fine.
It's not a whine My ceo is going to take full responsability for his crappy corp standings and i even got a good fight against a 2 years old char ^_^(time to use a punishment stick)

logged on today at about 15h eve time and there was no lag at all, go out for 3 hours and now it has taken me almost 15 minutes for the client to load the station once i logged in.
Then joined a player channel and it took 2 minutes for that to display..... something aint right ?

Major rubber banding at gates, auto pilot doesn't approach or jump, but still warps. Before that when collecting loot I could be sitting on top of a can and being told I need to be within 1500m to open it, a few seconds later I rubberband and find myself 10K from it! Major lag.

Yes, the current lag is terrible...
However;
"Reboot a 70 blade itegrated database cluster ain't like dustin' crops boy. Without proper calculations you'd fly into a star or bounce too close to a supernova..." (or something like that)
I'd rather they root-caused it and fixed it. Hopefully they're getting lots of data on what to do on that right now.

Yeah its very ugly atm, autopilot not working, module activation takes 10 sec, can opening is delayed like 20 sec at times etc.

It takes me 20 seconds to switch characters at the character window (which is usually 1 second), and five minutes just to go from the char window to my in-game ship (which is usually 5 seconds).
I can't re-name my containers in my cargo hold because I don't have permission... traffic warnings are being spamed on my screen...
The end is nigh!

Especially as the server was down most of yesterday evening for patching.

I guess either way it reflects badly on interested trial parties. If this is a one-shot deal, then there's A LOT of whining going on. If this is a normal thing, it needs to be fixed. No? ;)

Lots of lag around the Hulf constellation in Metropolis.
The approach gate, jump, and warp on the other-side routine, through the autopilot, takes a good full 5 minutes.
Weird tho, since performance was nice after the DT until about an hour or two ago.
Good luck to CCP in resolving the issues !

CCP always patches on thursday... Don't know why not patching on tuesday so you can fix the problems during rest of the week or something like this.. after RMR it was nearly the same :(

The server recently had a big hardware upgrade about a week ago, and a big patch yesterday. Chances are a few bugs need to be hammered out. But no, this is the first time the server has been messed up like this since I've started playing... other than patch day.

Not really most of the errors are because of tha patch(supposedly)

Its starting to become the norm after patch day sadly, but the other 92% of the time its playable :)

Get rid of the frakking traffic advisory. Post-patch the game is running like a 74' pinto with sand in the crankcase. My corp is in a 0.3, rather lowly populated area and there is 20s and more lag from activating gates and weapons to actual use.
Dump it and quickly figure out what is lagging everything so badly.

FFS, can't change container names....it takes 5 min. just to dock, after getting docking permission.....it takes God knows how long to drag and drop cargo now....it takes 5 min. for the ships to respond to commands....the chat window lags...everything lags.
Reboot....the....server.
Everything ran perfect before this patch.

I don't think it's a problem with the new nodes, as it's too global. It could be a software thing with the patch, although it kinda has the feel of a networking hardware failure, like a dodgy router or something.

I am just on my way home. So its kinda fun. here is what I am getting:
I warp backwards.
I warp to gate/ then I warp out again/and then warp to gate backwards (Thats on AP)
I do not Jump, I need to manually Aproach the gate, and click JUMP to jump. (Autopilot is still Active)
This are so far the most fun episodes.

every patch it's starts all over again *****ing and whinning from n00bs that know better or not, please stop it i think really CCP is working on the problem, every patch there WILL surface problems..... it's normal it's ******* software.
If ya can't play to bad do something else with your live....
Saying you gonna leave the game OW PLEASE DO more isk for us
players...

The strangest thing is... out of everywhere I've visited (about 20 systems) since the lag started... Jita has the least lag.

These comments are usually left by players who are not playing eve at the time but actvely surf forums from work. Basically saying "we don't care since we can't play eve atm anyway, but we will shill nevertheless just to annoy you."

i do wonder y after a new server that the lag is so bad, yes i understand a new patch almost 73Mb ( not sure i`m keen on the new content in this btw ). after player eve almost religiously for +2years i can honestly say that the lag imo is getting worse irrespective of the blood patch. it seems to me that the last 6 months the lag has increased in almost all activeities, i`m sure ccp are working on this and will continue to work on this but i am susprised that ewven after new yaddarrrware this still seems to be the case, however i`ll still carry on playing as i love this game but please concentrate resourses on removing lag rather than new content as i am sure 99% of the eve comunity would now prefer a lag free experiance and no new content for a while rather than new content and a game that so many of us love but is becoming more and more unplayable. ccp 4tw ( evbentually).

They are not rebooting because they are trying to fix issues to which they probably cannot remedy, and are testing on the live lagged server cluster instead of just taking it down.
A rollback? well i think they got their balls in a vice on that, especially after all the new bloodline chars and accounts created... then more problems for them.
I geuss CCP's best thing to do is hide and not post lol.

@ the players that have been here a while. You know yall keep saying that this is normal after every patch. You really want to tell the new people that after every patch that EVE will be screwy? Like thats going to get them to want to stay. Also isnt this is what sisi is for, To test out the patch before going to the live server so we dont have the problems like we are having atm. I dont understand it myself, I was active on sisi the week before the patch and no problems. But yet now the patch goes live and problems out the wazoo. So I say quit saying its always like this because imho it shouldnt always be like this, that is what sisi is for.

I think there is no reboot because Dev did'nt find the "bug".. and a reboot, without any idea of what happen, would only give one another reboot some hours later.
I don't like it, i can't play.. but i can understand it...

getting a bit rediculous now but 9 mins to reload my guns in the middle of fighting 9 angels not a good predicement to be in at all can we get something sorted please then after it decides to reload it tells me not enough space to reload and yet my guns were empty..... please reboot the server......

Took me 10mins to log in, 15mins to get the system to 'load' up, hanged at the gate the entire time, crawled to jump gate, jumped into Jita for LESS lag crashed, rebooted, changed skill and logged.
In all honesty, if anyone seriously attempts to hunt, kill etc or anything remotely dangerous with the server in its current condition, then I pray Darwin takes his vengence on you quickly.

It's not too bad in some of the nodes, although I'm receiving quite a few bugs. I'd say just be patient and wait for them to fix it, since it's quite obvious that they should already know about something this big.
New cluster + New patch = Super-mega-death-lag on the first bit of problem for either |
