I guess i dont understand why so many people in eve in general are nasty to each other. You cant even make a post within these forums stating your opinion without someone adding a nasty reply calling ya names or making fun of your grammer or something.
I fail to see why there are so many nasy ugly people in eve. Everyone with a paying account has forum acess. You also have a right to post a topic but simply because your view doesnt match someone else view your called names and made fun of. Nice world this eve. Got news for ya my strenghts arent in spelling and grammar. Im an MD. Im 46 yrs old and a great number of us are strong in science and poor in writting. Just try to read your doctors notes. But dispite my 13 yrs of upper education im made fun of. People really need to pay attention to how there hurting others in this game. Everyone has feelings. People have strenght and weaknesses. We're all peopl. Now u watch and read someone wanting to be smart will start calling me a fool or moron or go for the throat.Yea they'll probley even make fun of a waste of space for such a post. But ya realize what i said is all too true!

Because you have a bunch on losers on here, who can't accept the fact that we all don't blindly follow CCP.
Real PvP is on the forums, EVE the game is just a pretty techdemo.

Because sometime in the past 10 years or so parents/guardians obviously stopped teaching their children how to treat others with any form of respect.

I would like to tell you it is a part of the Eve community where it is all in good fun but this is a know effect of free speach mixed out with internet.
It is relatively easy to issult and abuse poeple when you are hidding behind an avatar of any sort (would it be the Eve forums or any other online form of community). I would say ignore post with any form of abuse or insults even if it includes a question. The poster should learn to behave.
Mind you a bit of smack talk is okay for kiding around as long as it is all in good will. As many humourist in Quebec would say a joke stops to be funny when you think it is true. Laughing at someone in good nature is healty but aim less insult or flaming just ruins the community. This community, like all the others, as mature and immature users. The sad part is immature user will take mutch more room.

Forums are for discussion and communication. People get impatient with people that aren't very good at expressing themselves, are hopeless at spelling, and aren't even vaguely acquainted with the rules of grammar. Why? Because it makes it difficult to understand what you are talking about and it makes it look like you just don't care about the people trying to read whatever you have written. It is why we have standardised rules for spelling and grammar after all.
A lot of people say: "Well loads of people are writing in their second or third language." Sure. Quite often though, people writing in a second language are a lot more precise and take a lot more care with how they express themselves than native speakers. I don't think anyone expects perfection. Just a reasonable use of full stops (periods), the odd comma here and there and most important of all: paragraphs.
If grammar and spelling is a weak area, then consider typing posts in Word (or Open Office) first and using its spelling and grammar checking facilities before posting on the forums. At least then people will (maybe) attack your ideas and not their presentation.
Unfortunately, there are also a lot of people that have no idea how to discuss or debate either. If you attack the poster rather than the post, then you aren't winning an argument, you are being an arse and making yourself look stupid.
For the most part, people in Eve are pretty helpful and friendly in my experience. There are one or two repetitive topics that crop up over and over again where people have fundamentally misunderstood what Eve is all about, however, and people tend to get a little impatient with that and respond quite negatively.

Nice to see I'm not the only one around here who was born in the 1950s (well, you could have a 1960 birthdate I guess).
As for the rudeness on this board, it's pretty much what I would expect from a game where theft, fraud, deceit, piracy and murder are considered fun and "fair". I would be shocked to see such behavior accompanied solely by polite discourse.
And yes, kids these days are less polite than we were brought up to be. What goes around comes around...we didn't live up to the standards of previous generations, either.

Did you ever think that some people are just mean? I mean instead of going into speculation on the age or the living situation of a poster which a lot of people tend to do.
I think I will always remember this quote from my early MMO days:
"You may be older than me, but when it comes to PVP you're a ******* fetus"
Now what you do in real life really has no bearing when you're discussing the mechanics of this game. If it was available, I'm sure a great number of the local posters would have a PhD in Eve.
As for grammar, well, thats something else.

Im sure the advent of instant messaging on cell phones has gone a long way in destroying all the hard work of Chuacer (spelling? - im a science student!) and Shakespeare. Some people are just too lazy to write in full! It is frustrating for those of us who froth at the mouth at a finely constructed sentence...
Find comfort in the fact that generally people are friendlier ingame than in the forums... in my experience at least. Ignore the tossers hiding behind the veil of 'freedom of speech', which is ironic really.

I presume you are talking about wireplay, which you know wasn't so bad back in the day (q2 era), but after it came back, different story.

Not even close, the GPL (grandprix legends) forums/community are way ahead.
