Looking at the Front Page it seems they are starting the story off from the EVE Exodus Expansion.
I suppose at least the rest of the expansions will be delieved on time - SoonÖ shouldn't be a term the Eve China customers ever have to hear

Whats wrong?
The "remember me" doesnt work correctly, you have to hit reply or "login" and it will automatically log you in then as opposed to just logging you in from the start.
When editing a post, it takes you to a page that doesnt exist and you have an option of going "back one page" or "back to forums" not "back to thread".
Smileys require random [] brackets around them. URL formatting also doesnt work correctly. HTTP://www.google.com is ignored unless I put url tags around it. (Other forums can detect a web address and add the tags for you :))
Signatures are not seperated from the main body of the post by any discernable divider. Not even whitespace.
I think that pretty much covers it :) ----- Memorable Quotes <Jarltan Dimtras> OH MY GOD MY GF IS A DUDE |

That may be true, but it seems most posters find any kind of racism against asians (blatant or not) is acceptable. Though with the Western/Euro-centric bias that most posters have here, I'm hardly suprised and chalk it up to general gwailo/gaijin ignorance.
Remaining on topic, I find it odd that anyone would even want to play on a shard with PRC internet-gaming laws applied to it. It wouldn't be as fun as it now with the limitations and curfews.

Never been an issue for me, though i wouldnt complain if they fixed it. But i dont really care either way.

Thats buggy. It works sometimes (mainly if you do it right after editing a post). But again, i just push delete twice real fast, no problemo. Wont complain if they fixed it but it dont really affect me.

Thats actuaally a GOOD thing in my book. I **HATE** auto-parsing, especially emoticons. Double-especially because all those forums never have an accoount-wide "disable emoticons in post" so i always have to tick the same goddamn box for every fuggin reply. Auto-parsing = dumb. Plznokthnx.

Is anyone actually aware of the fact that China is the biggest growing country in the world, financially, and that there actually are Chinese people that have money?
They're humans just like the rest of us and they play for the same reasons. There's a minor horde of farmers in both Europe and the states too, the only difference is the fact that the Asians managed to actually organize it instead of running around like headless chickens

so true... As much as I enjoy eve, I always thought a real strong point was that it was a single server.. ignoring the fact that there are farmers, It saddens me there'll be a whole continent I'll not be able to play with.. (yes I know they can come to tranquility and vica versa.. but thats not the point)

Please. Some people have just a sentence as signature, and it's hard to tell where the post stops and the signature begins. Extremely annoying to try to make sense to a post, only to realize half of it was a signature with no relevance to the post.

"Somewhere in the dark corners of my head, called the brain, I have a faint memory of EVE having the strong-point in their ads with the fact that they have only one server for everyone"
The official explanations if i recall right went to the effect of very different law regulations (enforced limits on how long can one stay online playing) and different approach to gaming (secondary market of game items and such being considered natural part of the game) ... so it was either switching TQ to the same standards and practices, skipping Chinese market altogether, or creating secondary server conforming with local rules. o.O;

ISK selling relies on two things:
1. People with lots of money to buy the ISK. 2. People with very little money to sell it (as its not a very profitable individual business).
In China, a very good yearly wage is 10 grand a year. In America, a similarly good wage would be 100 grand a year. Without those comparatively rich players to buy the ISK, the prices for ISK will be so low that it won't even be worth it to the Chinese to farm it either.
Therefore CCP must be geniuses, splitting the market by placing a void between buyers and sellers :P

Pretty much. The PRC has rather specific laws about the internet and such, and much of it is highly monitored and censored by their government. By containing the cluster to Chinese customers only, it means CCP dosn't have to worry about the government there raising issue about dissidents using EVE as a way to communicate or exposing it's citizens to outside thoughts and ideas not approved by the People's Republic. They've also got decency laws and the like. Odds are, most of the chats there will be logged, too. But China's got a lot of avid gamers, so that's the price of doing business with them.
Other online companies, like Yahoo and Google, have been forced to cooperate with the PRC in handing over names of dissidents using their services to spread their messages and the like in order to continue operations there.
At least, that's my understanding of the situation.

Edited by: SpaceDrake Storyteller on 13/03/2006 07:14:51 Using the translator, I have gleaned a few points:
1) Horace, who I'm guessing is Oveur's (or possibly Kieron's) Chinese counterpart, states that basically nobody else outside of China will be allowed to play on the China cluster. BUT BUT BUT, he then goes on to insinuate that there will be a third shard (or possibly more!) for other Asian gamers!
Horace
再次希望大家在论坛交流的时候保持成熟冷静的风度,和我们一起努力创造一个和谐纯净的EVE世界,谢谢。
Quote: Google's somewhat butchered version of it: Not open to the entire Asia.
Our denotation " the opening " involves the question which sells to the game channel as well as the market camp. The Asian other countries and the area plays the family certainly has the possibility connects the Chinese server (also does not remove adopts the IP shield possibility), but because proxy agreement, sells reason and so on channel, market promotion as well as server language, network connection quality, erects to mainland China's Chinese edition server cannot officially in except mainland China, Hong Kong, outside the Aomen area promote, the charge operation.
As for China and Taiwan, Korea, Japan and other Asian regions will become Eve separate target markets.
Horace
Once again I hope that the forum for the exchange of time maintaining mature cool manners, and we work together to create a harmonious pure Eve world, thank you.
The topic.
My reaction in a bit.
2) The Chinese have gotten prime fiction we haven't: lingustic examples for all four races!
http://www.eve-online.com.cn/race/gallente.htm
Quote: Gallente language mainly come from the French, some people speaking Flanders and Latin variations. Because French pronunciation, many silent Gallente language at the end.
Examples: Charmerout-stars is the quintessence of a regional name, the Italian for "beautiful" or "beautiful passages". Poteque - The largest company names Poteque medicines. Poteque simple explanation is that (this phrase is not standard Gallente language) "a better future". Ampaert-old Gallente A very special female members, the term is an intention to "more fruits and productive." Finally stressed that the empire is the name Gallente, known as Gallente subjects, their language named Gallente language.

http://www.eve-online.com.cn/race/caldari.htm
Quote: Caldari essentially Finnish language as the basis of a mixed Asian-speaking.
For example: Osunen-a group of the surname. There are many examples where the name "-nen" for the end, meaning "From", so Osunen said "From Osu."
