Just one thing I don't understand... this player behind the killing has killed 25 ships with only 2 losses all in 0.8 or higher areas.... how is this play not getting Concord'd?

Once you undock you are not safe anywhere in EvE, that's the way it has always been. Get it through you head, CCP intended for this type of gameplay and still support it.

Wow. The loot fairy really likes Steve Keebler. A Stratios and 4 Macks in one afternoon. Nice. But wasn't Tippia just saying that surviving on gate scraps was less profitable a couple days ago and that these kinds of ganks were on the decline?

The irony is that if (ganking were) even close to as common as these self-made victims proclaimed, there would be no posts because it would be such a natural part of life that no-one would bat an eye when it happened.

I said that trying to steal gank loot is pretty much a non-starter these days because they're so rare. So far, nothing has really been provided to disprove this.

Steve is a single data point, not a world-wide trend. People have been stupidly stuffing their T1s full of overprices stuff since the birth of the universe; the fact that they're still doing it doesn't indicate that ganking has become more common. If anything, it shows that it's exceedingly rare since the thought apparently doesn't enter people's minds that it's a bad thing to do.

Or worse: it does enter their mind, but a rational calculation shows that the risk is so close to zero as to not matter.

Every time someone comes on the forums screaming in shock and horror about being ganked (and inevitably be shown to have all but invited that gank through their fitting and cargo choice) and kicking up a storm about how ganking is out of control, it only reinforces the sense that it's increasingly rare. The irony is that if it was even close to as common as these self-made victims proclaimed, there would be no posts because it would be such a natural part of life that no-one would bat an eye when it happened.

For the record, I was only joshing Tippia with my comment. It isn't possible to refute someone's "observed reality," and I have no doubt those words were (as they all are with Tippia) carefully chosen. I just thought it was funny that I read this comment like yesterday and today there's all these indy kills with billions in loot drops not 3 jumps from the Perimeter gate. haha
