L4 missions whilst intoxicated are bad. Cost: Pride, a corp mate was near enough to help pop the tacklers so I could warp
Trolling channels whilst intoxicated is bad. Cost: Variable ;p
It's only one jump into low-sec does not make it safer. cost: 1 hauler
Following a 0.0 insta-chain to 'see where you end up' really isn't a good idea.
Events + low sec + Infinius Odium = lots of popped newbies. Cost: My first ever cruiser, and first ever pod. (ok it was a while ago now ;p)
Copying in game numbers to spread sheets is a good idea, but only if you triple check the numbers Cost: Panic when launching an outpost, because we were short 1000 construction blocks and downtime was fast approaching
Having found an error in your spreadsheet, then not fixing it before the next time will lead to having the same problem Cost: Nearly having to pay the MC an awful lot more money to guard for longer :)
Noticing that you are missing a few instas in the middle of your route, or that one or two are 'a bit off', but leaving it until 'some other time' is not a good idea.
Firing back at that flashy red guy as you run to the gate means you can't jump for 30 seconds and he'll gank you. Cost: 1 caracal -- We are recruiting
We sell carriers. |

Don't look at the fullsize marketwindow while doing complexes and running eve in a window and the clicking the top right "x" thinking it would close the market window. Cost: Saying what the **** out lound with actually noone being around

Do not engage a gang of 4 Battleships near a low-sec space station because you outnumber them by 2 Battlecruisers and a Caracal. 4 BS + Sentry guns > 4 BS + 2 BC + 1 Cruiser Cost: 2 Megathrons, 1 Dominix, 1 Ferox, 1 Prophecy, 1 Caracal and a LOT of expensive mods.
Too put a finer point on this. If a pilot in your gang engages under these circumstances, leave him to DIE! He deserves it.

When picking up cans after a mission with a gang mate - Don't web the last can being tractored by said gang mate for a laugh if he isn't in your corp! (Cost: 1 x Muninn with all the trimmings )

Hehe, great points to note and here are my top three;
3. Putting all of your distributable attribute points into Perception so you can learn ship skills more quickly is not the wisest move when generating your first character. (cost: first 2 weeks of playing)
2. 60 seconds left on the countdown until downtime is not "more than enough time" to finish the final stage of a deadspace mission. And, no, your ship won't be fine when you log back in. (cost: 1 Gila and fittings + 1 hour to rerun mission)
1. Just because it's a T2 BPO, that does not mean it "must be worth more" than the apparently low asking price. (cost: 500 million ISK)

My top tips
Dont fall asleep in a belt whilst ratting (cost Gila + mods)
Dont use old BM's you made in 2003 (cost pride + 2 BS + the gang *****ing at me for the rest of the day)

Leading gang, when you`re just smoked weed - bad idea. Cost : 6 RAT battleships (we killed 4, tho ).
Thinking : "This deimos is in structure, i`ll manage to kill him", when you are in shieldtanked vaga, and your shield is about 5%. Cost : Vagabond, bought 3 hours before that accident.
Dueling with another vaga, and picking his loot, having half armor, and full local of enemys. That tempest landed 60km from me, and managed to see only 4 damages in logs. Cost : Yeah, another Vagabond.
Having uncontrolled friend in teamspeak, who warped on ATUK camp without my order. Yes, we tryed to rescue him. Cost : Mega, Arma, and my vaga (DAMN IT). Friend left battlefield in his battleship.
Thinking, that Cerberus with 8k shield is able to tank 2 arbitrators and a Prophecy. Jammed, webbed, 10 t2 med drones raped me in about 30 seconds. Cost : Cerberus.
Asking newbie from your corp to scout you hed pipe, just because you are too lazy to log in covert ops on second window. Cost : Scorpion.
Forgot to refit your ship to travel config. Just after i jumped HED - i realised, that i have 5 x nanofibers, instead of 5 wcs in my raven. Cost : Raven with t2 sieges.
Giving away leadership of the gang to player with bad connection - is bad idea. Cost : My tempest, corpm8 apoc (this happened 2 times, btw). ----------------------------------------------- Logged in a system, next to you =) |

9. ItĘs much easier to sell minerals at a station 10 jumps away if I bring them with me. (Cost: Had to sell for a much lower price closer to home)
And the corollary:
9.1 Hauling missions are easier to complete if you don't rocket off after receiving them without transferring the items to your hold. (Cost: Probably two days worth of my 14-day trial)

Thanks to the long cycle time of strip miners I used to feel the same about minning. Then, I started to take up new hobbies while minning. Like but not limited to: Beer Reading a book Working Sewing Cooking Playing another MMO Fixing the pipes Board Games PSP Landscaping Going to the movies Mowing the lawn
It's almost like the game plays itself sometimes.... and that's not always a bad thing.

-Don`t go out in front of your gang with a caracal and think "I can tank that 750k BS" (Cost 1 nicely equipped Caracal)
-Don`t try to warp out, just f***ing fire back at once! That thorax IS scrambling you and you can take him if you fire at once... I started shooting when my shieldtank was at 30% (Cost 1 even nicer equipped Caracal)
-Don`t think 6 npc cruisers are nothing to my 1 cruiser and those npc frigs hardly do any dmg even tho there is 15 of them. Npc-players tend to come closer to you... (Cost 600000 in repairs)
Nice tread btw!

..if you notice your agent gave you two pickup bookmarks for a courier mission in the current system it isn't because you have to carry two items.

Almost sold my fenrir freighter yesterday for 1,183,000.00 isk and thought it's a good deal and I can get a new one for 1 billion in another region. I brought it already to that station and was just one click away. Then I noticed the -98% below average price in red.
Hint: Never try to make 'smart' deals, when you almost fall asleep e.g. I've also bought stuff on escrow on a conquerable station of our enemies in that situation. ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |

modules fitted to your ship need to be online before they can be used, this includes warp core stabilizers, figuring that out when you are being scrambled is too late __________________________________ the sig of Freya Runestone decided to take a vacation ... then on the beach it found a little bit of gold - Vanamonde If I may be so bold, it was only mould, Vanamonde - Cortes |

- When you are 2 weeks into the game, ratting in low-sec and see another player jump in flashing red, don't think you can take him just cause he is flying a ship that looks like your friend's Merlin... it's not a Merlin, it's a Harpy (Cost: 2 frigates with equipment worth 4 times more than the ships and 2 pods)
- Big asteroids have nasty warp-scramblers fitted that activate on close proximity and they are allied with the NPC rats (Cost: 1 Thorax with 5mill worth of loot)
- Borrowing a friend's frigate to pick up that 5mill loot among the above mentioned NPCs that just killed your Thorax is not a good idea (Cost: 1 Tristan and appologies to the friend)
- Buying the last shuttle in this God forgotten station in the middle of 0.0 in Syndicate and flying it back to the previously mentioned NPCs (now joined by cans from 2 of your ships) to "just pickup whatever you can" is not that great of an idea either. (Cost: having to come out of 0.0 with loss in your wallet and flying a Velator )
- (This happened to people i know) Inviting a new player to the game, and while showing him the station's in Empire it's not a good idea to tell him to "test" his guns on you (Cost: having to buy your friend a new frig while you yourself are only a few weeks into the game) - Telling the above mentioned friend to just get that new frig and undock ASAP means you have to pay for his frig again (Profit: lots of laughter on TS )

Sadly, I have another item to add to my list...
0. If there were 2 podkills there in the last hour, and a guy with a low security rating is just hanging out on the other side of the gate, it's probably camped and I shouldn't go "check it out anyway just for kicks." (Cost: 1 shuttle, 1 clone, another 6 mil worth of implants)
*Sighs* Oh well, at least I thought to take a shuttle... ------------------------------

1. An Incursus is not an interceptor, no matter how many go-fast bits you throw on.
2. An Incursus set up to be an interceptor will NOT live against 2 cyclones with missiles.
3. It's a lot easier to get on with a loss when it was only a frigate.
4. L2 mission loot in hisec is not worth losing a 7m cruiser for.
5. Barges are SLOW, like ice mining.
6. You can have the most fun with the smallest ships. No matter how cheap they are.
7. Pods are not fun.

1)NEVER leave a Thorax in a belt while getting dinner. I saw a pretty blue explosion just as i hopped back on. cost: 1 thorax, and on another occasion 1 catalyst
2)DONT go through 0.4 space as a shortcut while still close to the start of the game. Cost: 1 Tristan

Dont get drunk while ratting in 0.0, go to a safe spot, jump out of your geddon and into a shuttle. Then dont fly off in a random direction to see how far you get while in bed. Cost: geddon (stolen), shuttle, pod, dignity

Rules to ,live by No 127652, Do NOT use a Mammoth on Auto Pilot to haul stuff in empire while watching a movie and forgetting to ensure that the "Avoid Low Sec Areas" flag is checked. You may suddenly find yourself 70km away from a -10 PvP rat in 0.3 space.
Cost (1 Mammoth + Cargo, 4 Wolves and a bunch of T2 280mm Artillery cannon)
