Quick comment on Tripwire: it's becoming a go to utility in our C4 corp, especially now that we have a couple of statics and higher frequency of random WHs.
Kudos for your efforts. I love the ability to see a visual and hierarchical representation of systems, easily get womrhol.es and Dotlan info, and see where my corp mates happened to be. That said we have to continue and maintain our in-game BM naming standards - for a simple reason: there's no way to activate a warp from Tripwire - directly. I can only imagine it's difficult or impossible due to API limits etc. It will be nice however to streamline the use of both somehow.
Nevertheless - it's a great tool. Please keep on polishing this wonderful tool. I hope that it'll be a shining diamond in your resume!

Depending on your BM naming standard this might be a usefull feature to make tripwire a bit more in line with the standard you use: https://tripwire.cloud-things.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12 |

Seems there are issues caused by a recent patch that is making a scrolling UI get cut off ...
I am in the process of fixing it now and will release a hotfix ASAP.

Loving Tripwire so far. Really handy tool!
But I'm having issues with how the holes are names. Say that a set the letter option " a" to get C4a C4b etc...
The reason one (or at least WE) name holes C4a, b etc is so that hole can be 'referred to by it's 'name'. This is so I can say to my mates that I see a drake running a site in C3c, for instance.
The way Tripwire seem to handle this is that it sets the letter for each and every hole. So if there are two C2 holes in one hole they will be called C2a and C2b. Fine. But if another hole also contains C2 holes they will be named C2a (and C2b etc) in that hole. This is confusing.
I would like the option of telling Tripwire to only use the same letter once, for the same Class of holes. So ther can be only one C2a, only one C4a etc. Does that seem like something that could be done?
Now, perhaps this is already possible and it's something I've failed to figure out. If so, please instruct me or point out how to do it.

The issue your having is a common one - the code behind the class bookmark naming isn't working correctly and is going to be completely re-coded w/ new features including the ability to manually name them and the systems.
Keep an eye out for me posting a thread discussing this feature and how it should work soon.

Server Upgrades!!
Thanks to donations from various people using the PayPal Donate button at the bottom of Tripwire I am able to upgrade the server - doubling it's current power!
This upgrade will require a short outage of about 10-15 minutes that will happen @ 01:00 EVE time.

Love Tripwire, thanks for the work.
This isn't your fault and I know little about the process that makes the things you do work but the statics listed for J212812 are a U210 Losec and a M267 C3. The M267 C3 seems to be an error and the correct static is a T405 C4.

I tried to confirm this but the only thing I could find was that it should perhaps only have a single static via U210. This static stuff can be tricky sometime... can anyone confirm this system's statics?

Tripwire news:
Some new features coming to Tripwire for EVE Phoebe on November 4th. For now all I'll say is one feature will be wormhole mass tracking, more will be announced soon.
Tripwire popularity hits new record: Last week ended in a record breaking Sunday with nearly 10k hits! http://puu.sh/caHfS/d63e6c8b03.png
Special thanks to all those who have donated lately - Tripwire isn't as big of financial burden on me anymore!

I have been using tripwire extensively these past couple days, and I'm reasonably sure now that among all the other tools I like this one best v0v thanks so much for creating it :>
Yet, I have a couple issues / requests / questions (if some of them have already been posted / answered elsewhere, pray excuse my ignorance :))
1.) As an admin for my corporation, what can I actually do?
2.) When "Follow my in-game system" is activated, the Pop-up asking for the signature, which should be updated, is closed almost immediately after poping up because the hole page reloads shortly after. Is there a fix, or am I doing something wrong?
3.) Is there a guide to the auto-mapping functionality? Generally, it works well for me, but certain things I find confusing. I.e., it shouldn't auto-map a named signature when there are also one or more K162 signatures present. Example: Today I mapped a C3 that had a U210 static and multiple K162 (one of which lead to lowsec). When I jumped it, however, tripwire assumed that I jumped through the U210 and mapped it accordingly instead of asking for the signature to be updated.
4.) If I'm not mistaken, the default life time of a non-wh signature is 24 hours, right? Is there any way for a user to change the default setting?
5.) This is most important to me: I am missing a feature that enables me to easily mass-delete signatures from tripwire, that are no longer there. Meaning, when I copy&paste all signatures from the signatures onto tripwire, new sigs should not only be added, but non-existing signatures should also be deleted. A button to toggle such behavior would be awesome!
So, thanks again! Your work is appreciated o/ |

Hello,
Sorry for the delayed reply, you caught me in the final stages of moving and I wasn't able to get on a PC.
Thanks and I'm glad you enjoy Tripwire, it has been my baby :) And never hesitate to give feedback, it is what Tripwire is built on - repeating feedback just lets me know how important a change is so I can prioritize my work.
Quote:1.) As an admin for my corporation, what can I actually do? Only manage corp wide masks atm. It is a feature that will get expanded upon but a security sensitive feature requires time.
Quote:2.) When "Follow my in-game system" is activated, the Pop-up asking for the signature, which should be updated, is closed almost immediately after poping up because the hole page reloads shortly after. Is there a fix, or am I doing something wrong? This is an issue I will try to fix by next patch (scheduled the week of Phoebe)
Quote:3.) Is there a guide to the auto-mapping functionality? Generally, it works well for me, but certain things I find confusing. I.e., it shouldn't auto-map a named signature when there are also one or more K162 signatures present. Example: Today I mapped a C3 that had a U210 static and multiple K162 (one of which lead to lowsec). When I jumped it, however, tripwire assumed that I jumped through the U210 and mapped it accordingly instead of asking for the signature to be updated. No guide yet - the auto-mapper feature is the most "alpha" or experimental code in all of Tripwire and is planned for a complete re-write, too many bugs to fix.
Quote:4.) If I'm not mistaken, the default life time of a non-wh signature is 24 hours, right? Is there any way for a user to change the default setting? No, 24 hours is the default for wormholes and 72 hours is the default for all other signatures. Wormholes life length cannot be changed atm - all other signatures have a editable "Life" field that can be modified at any time. I'm not sure what the future holds for this setting right now.
Quote:5.) This is most important to me: I am missing a feature that enables me to easily mass-delete signatures from tripwire, that are no longer there. Meaning, when I copy&paste all signatures from the signatures onto tripwire, new sigs should not only be added, but non-existing signatures should also be deleted. A button to toggle such behavior would be awesome! The best way to delete many signatures right now is to just keep clicking that "X", then hit the "Delete" button to delete them all. I want to add more ways to mass delete signatures and I like your idea - lets see what else people suggest.
Thank you very much! I've enjoyed working with community to develop Tripwire. Donations (including ISK) are always welcome and used to further development.

I'm guessing your trying to point out the POODLE attack issue causing the low rating?
1.) TLS_FALLBACK_SCSV is enabled to prevent POODLE but they recommend disabling SSLv3 all together. 2.) Disabling SSLv3 prevents XP users from using the IGB, I assume you don't have this issue because you don't have as large of user base. All the more reason to find an alternative to the IGB soon.
Thanks for letting me know

Thought I would put this in here instead of the terah thread.
How easy would it be to add another toggle near the show home chain etc stuff to show the terah chain in a small box next to the main chain.
so if you had it visable your main view of the chain would be smaller but you would have a box with terah in the middle and it shows the static HS entrances and then the 1o WH's.
then if the toggle was off you would just see your home chain,
Possible 3rd option would be the above then an option like we have now that shows how far a certain system is, and have there be a default option for that to be terah.
I can make some screen-grabs to illustrate later Damien if my idea seems confusing. |

I tried a bunch of wormhole tracking systems and I got to say that tripwire is my favorite one so far
The other one I liked is eveeye but it has many problems with views disappearing, instability, popups not working at times and slowness.
Tripwire instead is simple, it racks the holes and has a nice interface for signatures, pretty intuitive and easy.
One feature I miss is IGB synchronization with an outside browser, I hope this feature can come eventually, unless it+žs already in but I can't figure how to activate it.
Anyway, good job guys, I'm really loving this tool although I wish there was some sort of minimap of systems around me in k-space and some way to know what class a wormhole type leads to before jumping (again, I could have missed that piece of info) |

It is available already, simply open an IGB and OOG and log into the same Tripwire account.

Chain map enhancements and k-space are on the road map, they are complex systems. Once you add a wormhole (leaving the Leads To empty) you can hover over the type in the Signatures list to get info on where it should lead to (or what the other side's type is if you have that entered down the road with a K162).

Any chance of adding a feature to tag a K162 as a frigate sized hole without jumping through?
Right now I just put a comment in the notes section for alliance mates if I can't or don't wish to jump through to the other side for some reason. Except that those can't be seen unless the WH locus is selected and the person pays attention to the notes.
Thanks, we all love Tripwire!

In a perfect world there would be an easy way to do this... however there is a clever way:
1.) Add the wormhole (K162) and set the Leads To system to something fake like Jita. 2.) Go to the fake side (like Jita) and edit that side of the wormhole type to any of the frigate wh types. 3.) From either side, clear out the fake Leads To system (Jita).
Viola - a K162 frig hole without a Leads To system.

That is actually an old request that got a bit buried by high priority requests, I'll bump it up on my list a few places.

Daimian,
As others have said, kudos on a great tool. I had a few questions/comments after having used it for a very long time.
1. I believe you had mentioned changing the default time on sigs like gas sites etc to longer back when CCP changed it so that Sig ID's persist through downtime. This however hasn't seemed to be the case. Is there a place that can be configured as right now they have to be manually changed every time to longer than 24 hours, which is doable but extra work.
2. Is there a way to add some sort of functionality to be able to flag a WH as inactive? As an example, since I tend to work from home I often get in and scan before starting my day. I may scan down our static (which has a 16 hr lifespan) but I specifically don't warp to it if I am pretty sure it is fresh. The reason being that the bulk of my corpmates will get on after work and the timing is such that if I were to do so the static would be near EOL right when they want to play.
However, tripwire starts the clock as soon as I add it, so it shows EOL even though it is inactive. Manually changing the status back to stable doesn't seem to work very well, as it tends to flip right back to critical after I save. The only way around is to just delete it and re-create it, which again works but is suboptimal.
Also, any plans for the pretty but useless graph area? Ever since CCP removed WH statistics it is largely useless.
Thanks again! |

About to release a hot patch so pasted sites default to 72 hours. Someday I'll add an option to change what they default to. Wormholes still default to 24 hours.
Give me a few days to think about "inactive" wormholes.... an interesting issue.
Well CCP FoxFour said he wanted to publish all killmails for each system for killboards. Once he finally adds that CREST end-point I plan to add back Ship Kills and Pod Kills in wormholes by using that end-point.
Thanks for the feedback!
