ok so im pretty new to wh's. pretty new to tripwire also. been messing around with it. first i would like to say tripwire is pretty impressive. Its fairly user friendly and super clean looking. nice job. couple of rookie questions though. 1. lets say i have added all the sigs in a system and i jump into another wh. if i jump back into the system i just came from a new sig automatically appears for the system i jumped from. i can edit to fix it but just wondering if that is normal or if there is a way to have tripwire recognize that sig is already there and not add a new one?
2. If i leave wh space and go through a couple of highsec systems and back into wh space, tripwire doesnt seem to show the highsec systems on the map. just wondering if this is normal or if i am doing something incorrect? Is there an option to show the highsec systems on the map?

You are talking about the Auto-Mapper feature. It has a list of known k-space connections and will never automatically add those connections (manual way is to add them as a wormhole with the type of GATE instead of K162).
It is also an ALPHA feature and still needs a complete re-code (soon). Try to enter the wormhole type before jumping initially or limit the # of wormholes without a connection yet so it can assume only 1 possible connection.

If you are experiencing problems with connecting to Tripwire, disable IPV6. There is a server conflict that is causing pure IPV6 clients to not connect to the server.
We are already nearly complete with building a brand new server so hopefully in a few days we can go live and avoid having extended server downtime trying to fix the IPV6 issue.
This does seem to be a very limited problem.

Daimian Mercer wrote:Good news everyone, I am nearly ready to release the next Tripwire patch! Expect to see it by Tuesday for the EVE Proteus patch. Here are some teaser screen shots: Customization of background imageChain Map tabs and grid lines w/ flare highlightingAnd here are the key changes:
- Chain Map tabs w/ ability to title them which renames the system also (drag to re-order)
- Chain Map collapse per system (dbl-click, saves per tab and remains collapsed even after deleting chain and re-adding)
- Chain Map Mass tracking change from clicking on lines to right-click menu with more details (right-click system)
- Chain Map systems can now all be renamed via right-click menu (top-most system name from tab name)
- Chain Map code optimizations results in 1/15th the processing time to render!
- Chain Map code fixes to remove many limitations like showing the same connection twice (i.e. loops)
- Chain Map line guide added w/ flare highlighting
- New and improved UI Icons and standardization
- Comments now auto-parse urls
- Ability to change the background image via options (host must support SSL or image won't load)
- Paste signature detected notice now has link to delete missing signatures
Additional changes and fixes will come as I finalize this patch so additional features may still make it in.
This patch is only ~2 hours from being released. Here are some things to keep in mind for this patch:
- Mass tracking was moved into right-click menu on chain map systems
- Removal of Home System & Home System Name from options
- Rename the top most system via the tab name option when making a new tab
- Renaming systems will show the system name at first (code changes), leave a system name empty for default name
- API Login and user registration have specific API requirements now, a link to make the needed API was added
Bug reports can be submitted via the forum thread below (will unlock when patch releases) https://tripwire.cloud-things.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=39

Can't seem to get the auto-mapper feature to work, having to manually add systems in at the moment.
Have enabled / disabled the feature Untrusted the site / Trusted the site Re-added the bookmark.
Even if I pre-add the system, e.g abc / T405 then warp through it doesn't add the system name.
Anyone else experiencing the same? |

Do existing users have to create new API keys? I can't see tabs created by other characters (all in the same corp).
As others mentioned auto-mapper doesn't work for me either. |

Nevermind. I misunderstood the concept behind tabs. Now I see you have to add them on all characters separately. |

Just a heads up...
I am working on the Auto-Mapper and Auto-Follower issues, was up until 2am trying to figure it out but didn't get very far before giving up for the night. It is now 9am and I am back to work on it. These issues will be fixed today.

It was removed in favor of the new tabs system. Goto your home system in Tripwire (view it) and click the + icon in the top-left corner of the chain map. This will make a new tab and the "home" or top system will always be what the tab was created with.
This new way allows you to switch between multiple home chains quickly

These issues have NOT been resolved. Tripwire continues to act ******** when using automapper and will replace already mapped wormholes with those just jumped through. I appreciate the list of new features by the developer but goddamn it has been very frustrating these past few days using this tool while it is handicapped. |

Sorry to hear that, but the only other report I have received about the Auto-Mapper not working like it did before the patch since a fix was pushed was just this morning from Lazerhawks and it was described almost to the letter of what you have listed which was never previously reported. I actually don't play EVE anymore so reporting issues is critical for me to fix them, getting upset before I even have been notified does neither of us any good. Give me a chance to help and I promise you won't be disappointed.
So the issue seems to be with the new ability to rename a system, even if you do not use it the Auto-Mapper is using this new feature to rename the connection (the actual system it leads to is still the same - click on it and you will see).
A quick fix for now is to right-click the affected system in the chain map and go to rename, then blank out the name to restore the true system name. I will have this issue fixed first thing after work today, which should be in about 6 hours now.

Daimian, I pm'ed you a couple of weeks before this most recent update, asking for a complete description of how automatic wormhole names (like C2a, C5b, etc) were calculated. You answered that the backing algorithm was going to be changed in the update, presumably (according to this post) to ensure that there would be only one of a given name in a chain at a time.
Have you made that change yet? If so, could you describe how the naming algorithm works? As I said before, it would be nice to have an automatic naming tool, to save time. But, if I can't do the same algorithm in my head to properly name my bookmarks if I don't have access to Tripwire for whatever reason, I would prefer to simply give all my systems unique names. I appreciate very much that we can now rename systems manually; but it does take a bit more time to do.
In the same vein, are system names, once given, persistent? If I assign system J140112 the name "Cottonmouth", and then the chain dies, and then J140112 is rediscovered later, will "Cottonmouth" show up in Tripwire? I don't really have a preference either way; I just want to know the behavior. |

You sir have discovered I do have limits as this last patch had to be cut short despite my wishes. This sometimes happens and in this last patch it was because of the sheer massive code changes were pilling up which is why it was also a buggy patch that I am still releasing hotfixes for.
I do still have the auto bookmark naming feature at the top of my list and is now part of the focus for the next patch I am about to begin codding. This next patch will include a complete revamp in how signatures are manually added/edited and should include all supporting methods including the Auto-Mapper and Mass Adding via paste.
Right now I am building a brand new server because the current one is nearly at capacity with almost 500 active users which is about 100 hits per second, each for data unique to that user - impressive for a $20 a month server. Also a new domain name and SSL certificates and a daily cloud backup. CloudFlare is also setup on the new server to help improve load times and offload the serving of static data to CDN servers.
So for now I would not even use the class bookmark naming feature.
For anyone out there who wishes to help me make Tripwire better, I am vary interested in help. The most help comes in the form of public support (helping others use Tripwire), feature research and discussions, advertising, UI concepts and of course ISK and money donations.

Mouseovers of system links used to show player/ship/mass that had traveled through them, and mouseovers of the static connections (listed on the top left frame) used to show the connections' mass limits. These mouseovers no longer work for me since the last big patch in any browser (IGB or otherwise). Anyone else experiencing this?
