Yey I think I recieved two copies :). As did James so I assume this is all in order. The article on Real world advertising in eve contradicted itself every other sentence in parts, which showed that the article itself had no real substance. At one point, it was saying basically "Real life advertising is coming. Here's how it'd work, but we decided it's not going to happen for eve because we're too busy. But we're going to do it some time, but not for a long time. And it might never come. And it's not coming, there's close to a 0% chance that they'll allow it. But it's coming!".
Love the ISS ad in the back and the MC ad in the front :). I'll read the chronicles later.
EDIT: Remind me to do something to get my name in issue 4. Maybe I should write one of the articles.

Edited by: Hakera on 12/04/2006 18:32:48 Just read through mine bar the chronicles,
yuppers, the trinity upgrades look sweet (going from 3000 to 1.8mill triangles), especially liked the close ups of the cruicifer , the reverse angle looking from below showed some excellent detail.
Im very keen to see what shadowing detail will be in trinity mk II as that has potential to produce some awesome images combined with an upgraded lighting effect from stars and nebulai etc
Though I have to admit, that Im more for an 'environment' upgrade at the same time. The look of space, planets, moons, asteroids, tactical environments etc and generally giving a more unique feel to eve's regions. Something akin to the detail of planets in X3 for eve would be nice!
edit: btw which dev was it that is the 'chief technology officer' (Halldόr)? Cos I want a long blog about trinity mk II from him pretty please!!!

it will happen and Reynir said he would like all the environment updated, the images in the article were specific to the ship model updates rather than the environment skins/surfaces. The end result is as they said, the technology is being updated to pave the way for planetry flight and much more detailed environmental flight it said.
it was just my afterthought from the article that you cant have really awesome ships sat in a background which has not been similarly upgraded myself :)

Too bad Vista is using completely different interfaces/drivers and DX 10, so even if your computer is compatable, it wont have full DX 10 graphics . There may be a chance that you can run full DX 10 features with what you have... but even if that will happen, there will be new computers up to 3x better. No bragging for you!!!
Now, for the people asking for pictures. Please respect the work that Zaptero and the rest of the EON team has done. If you want to see it, then buy the magazine and support them.
Im fine if people gives a few pictures to their close friends, but posting it on the forums would be wrong

No credit card, the price is extortionate for a gaming magazine, and what was promised (released on the site) isnt going to happen because the producers want to make it a "collectors edition" ugh. This is true "vista ready" simply means microsoft "think" that your PC will meet the minimum requirements for Vista. It isnt coming out for ages and no doubt bloody 128bit computing will be kicking off by the time it does finally arrive :D lol. ----- If you kill all the wolves, your gonna end up with a crapload of bunnies, and by bunnies I mean stupid people Eve & Linux Woot! |

yes sorry, article goes on to clarify that,
"instead we're using normal mapping to achieve the look of two million triangles. however to generate the normal maps we're having to rebuild all the ships in 1-2 million triangles"
so polygons will remain relatively the same i imagine.

Which is why they refer to triangles rather than polygons - because detailed models are always composed of triangular polygons.

Mmmm, im not too sure about that, but im no expert. So, oh well.
Mephite: The updates come in Kali, which comes in Q2 (mostlikely after E3 which is in may). Check the features page for other features coming in Kali.

It's a technical thing. When you have good quality models, they tend to be made out of a mesh of polygons to give as smooth a curve as possible (the more polygons, the smoother the curve). It works well with triangles. I'm no expert either, but that's my understanding of it.

No exact date is given, and it's highly unlikely that it will happen this year, considering Vista won't be out untill next year.

Wtf O_o? I remember reading somewhere official that the graphical upgrades will be in Kali..
Maybe the DX9 improvements are made in kali and the vista related ones will be made later on? It also seems like a waste of time for CCP to make low poly models of the new ships then have to remake them all over again later on
Well i still havent recieved my damn magazine so im pretty clueless, god damn :|

Why would they have to remake the ship models again? The same models can easily be used in DX10, the main diffrence between the two is going to be lighting/effects etc and how they apply to the models, not the models themselves.

Because the prettier ships using DX10 will obviously use more polygons. But then again, they would probably have to remake the models anyway since they need to give the players the option of not using the new graphical upgrades.
EDIT:

IIRC it's mostly due to triangles being mathematically guaranteed to be planar -- you can always calculate a plane that goes through any 3 points in space, but for any polygon with more vertices this is no longer true... meaning such polygon can wind up being 'not flat' which can generate inconsistences with shading, bits of geometry disappearing at some angles because it's wrongly determined to be facing the other way... and other such niceties.
(well, that's what it can look like in the 3d modeling programs, anyway ^^;;

If vista has DRM, I'm sticking with Win2k or switching to Linux if it becomes more supported than Win2k. DRM is a big no-no for me.

The trinity update is an upcoming feature in the game and is part of a mini-expansion as far as we can tell. I'm sure they will post some pictures up in a blog or screens at some point but EON subscribers just get an earlier look. It adds value to the magazine for subscribers so they can get thier money's worth.
As far as I'm concerned the the magazine is worth it for the dev interviews anc chronicles alone, everything else is gravy. If it is not worth it to you then all you have to do is wait till they release some images in another format.

Trinity will give us high polygon modules with new skins. The DX10 components which include HDR, and shadow mapping will be something that you'll have to get DX10 to use. Of course unless people release drivers for current graphics cards (those with redundant pipelines) can use.
It'll look snazzy, but not super-sexy snazzy.

Question:
How do you find your E-ON #3 in your bookshelf?
Answer:
It's the black/dark green spine, next to the blue and red one.
This post has a hint
Don't forget to use the area on the spine to mention things like, oh what magazine it is, and preferably what issue.

Kind of, I think it's more the fact that when you mix values from the corners of a triangle it's easy to work out what the mixture in the middle is, for example each vertex has a colour and so the centre is a mixture of the three colours in proportion to how far away they are. This always gives smooth shading. If you do this with aquares you can end up with wierd artifacts like you say.
The other reason is that it's very easy to project a triangle onto a flat surface, and work out which pixels it covers. I guess you could argue that mathematically both of these reasons are true because the triangle is planar, but hopefully it helps people understand :)

Triangles: DX10 will directly support processing of triangles on a massive scale. (Yes, that's software, not hardware ... and hardware supporting DX10 isn't available atm. Earliest test boards will be available to devs in maybe 5-10 weeks if my guesstimation is correct. The specs for DX10 have just been finalized.)
I just hope my copy wont arrive on saturday as I wont be at home for the long weekend. Would be a pitty having to hunt it down at the post offices in the area.

"insiders sort of thing" When the magazine was first brought up it was said that the info would be freely available on the website. Yet I've seen posts where Nyphur has been denied rights to posting his own article on here by none other than a Dev (Zapetero).
I personally think that zap's continuous spamming of "buy eon" or just little links to the EON shop page is damn annoying in reply to someones question. Its worse than that of course however as I've seen posts by kieron and Tuxford (pretty sure it was Tux..) saying the same "buy eon".
THE INFORMATION WAS MEANT TO BE FREELY AVAILABLE ON THIS WEBSITE. so stop spamming links to a damn expensive magazine if we could/wanted to buy it... we would of already.
Lots of people simply want the odd article in there, they dont want access to the competitions just the odd article. EVERY other magazine known to myself gaming or computing or otherwise, posts its articles a week later on the net for free. Granted the free articles may not include pretty pretty pictures, or you wont have rights to enter the competitions and prize draws. But its still done.
Heck... even if we had to pay for a PDF version of the magazine, I'd do it. Granted I'd expect a discount as no postage is needed and no paper or ink is used but I'd gladly pay a subscription for access to it in an electronic format. ----- If you kill all the wolves, your gonna end up with a crapload of bunnies, and by bunnies I mean stupid people Eve & Linux Woot! |

EON 3 is so people who want to support CCP more get the info first. The info will eventually become public (at E3).
So either shut up and wait or get the EON 3 magazine.

Your entitled to zero other than the ability to access the game servers and post on the forums.
We have paid extra to get the collectable magazine & all content therin.

What are the chances of CCP compiling EON into a .PDF format file and allowing people to purchase directly from this site?
Just think it could save shipping costs and save on some of the printing costs for CCP.

This was discussed in the other thread that announced EON 3.
They said that it wouldnt happen. Mainly because the whole point of EON 3 is to have a real life part of EVE online, and it would kill sales for the real thing and hurt the publisher or something like that.

The EON 3 magazine is a nice insiders sort of thing. If you want the info, you have to buy EON 3 or wait until CCP goes to E3.
THE INFORMATION WAS MEANT TO BE FREELY AVAILABLE ON THIS WEBSITE. so stop spamming links to a damn expensive magazine if we could/wanted to buy it... we would of already.
The articles are contributed by other players, interviews with CCP, and fan submissions.
Who are you to say what these people (re: ME ) meant...
If you don't want to pay for this great resource, fine.
You are free to write, develop, solicite, print, ship and listen to the complainers that didn't get the mag the way "they would do it" too...
--------
Zap, I got mine, thank you...
Kaaii
Devs stated that the information contained within the magazine would be released on this website in the form of devblogs/forum entries. This hasnt happened. What has happened is the Devs are now spamming links to the magazine instead of giving us the information and answers they promised previously.
That gives me the right to say what you meant. k...thx...& bai. ----- If you kill all the wolves, your gonna end up with a crapload of bunnies, and by bunnies I mean stupid people Eve & Linux Woot! |

No... it was discussed your right on that point, but everything that follows after that is wrong.
Zapetero does not want to publish the EON magazine online in a paid for downloadable PDF format as he feels that it would diminish EONs ranking as a collectible item.
FFS... its a gaming magazine. Since when have gaming magazines been "collectables" Beano's yes... Dandy's yes... Marvel Comics... yes. A game specific gaming magazine... Just dont see it happening.
Sales would go up if this was offered. It just doesnt make sense using "collectable" status as a defence.
Actually I have a wall racked with countless gaming mags; every issue of Arcade, Retro Gamer, Games(tm), countless issues of PC Format, Edge, Crash, The One, Sinclair User, Zero, PC Zone (obviously), OPM, ODM.... but this isn't about collectability, it's about EON being a *magazine*. It's a physical thing. It has a feel, a smell, it is something we as physical beings can relate to -- It has permanance, yet it has a place in time. EON will most likely outlive EVE itself: One day EVE will be no more, these forums will have vanished - maybe the Internet itself will have gone - and EVE will only exist in your memory, which itself will fail in time.
You'll be rocking on your porch, dribbling onto the blanket that covers your withered stumps, muttering something about how you used to have this incredible ship that arced across the heavens... how everyone respected you. 'grandad's freaking out again' will say your grandchildren, barely conceiling their laughter. Now if you only you had that copy of EON. Then they'd understand...

First of all, the new issue is GREAT! Second, I didn't get the post cards this time :( Are the postcards that were supposed to be included with the annual subscription only for the first magazine you get after paying the sub? I thought they were supposed to be delivered with every mag until your sub ran out? Maybe I got the wrong idea. Does anyone know?

I would get the same feeling of nostalgia that I get from reading a PDF version.
How do I know this? I own several electronic books, some of them are my favourite. Long after my actual printed book has ended up destroyed by water/fire/bugs or just plain over use (every book lover knows the perils of breaking a spine) I can still fire up my PDA and enjoy those books.
Museums and libraries are currently undertaking efforts to electronically store and archive all their most valuable works. The "nostalgia" kick works both ways.
Its clear an electronic version is wanted and needed, along with a way to actually pay for the magazine that isnt Credit Card only (paypal!?). Please take it into consideration beyond what you've already done. If only this forum supported Polls properly im sure we could have ourselves a decent vote on this topic, and im also sure that it would be in support of an electronic format to co-exist with the printed format. ----- If you kill all the wolves, your gonna end up with a crapload of bunnies, and by bunnies I mean stupid people Eve & Linux Woot! |

It would certainly be interesting to hear what the masses had to say on a pdf version, but it wouldn't change anything.
That you prefer electronic docs to the printed page I find rather odd. Comes down to function Vs form, I guess. Each to their own.

I dont prefer electronic docs to books, however I can see the attraction of it. I dont see EON as being a collectable in my sense of the word so I would prefer instant delivery as opposed to a pleasing form. However I am not going to deprive the collectors amongst your readership from collecting the magazine hence the need for an electronic version to co-exist.
I dont know how your printers work but I work for a training company that produces manuals and so on for their students. Ours are all designed, collated and brought together and sent to the printers in a PDF format anyway so in our case its not an issue to release the PDF as its already produced. I assume yours is the same or similar setup.
Its such a shame that for an online game, the accompanying magazine doesnt have an online format.
As you say its not going to change anything anyway (damn shame). What's the word on sorting a method of payment out for us lot who dont use credit cards?.
Edit: BTW it is much appreciated that you are taking the time to answer my posts here. ----- If you kill all the wolves, your gonna end up with a crapload of bunnies, and by bunnies I mean stupid people Eve & Linux Woot! |

I've posted this before, but i'll post it again.
The reasons you don't get EON as a pdf are the same reasons why you don't get other gaming mags as a pdf.
Also, EON doesn't have a lot of numbers in it's print runs - if it were distributed electronically, the real mag would cost a hell of a lot more because people will likely not bother to buy it and get it on bittorrent, which is bound to happen.
I, for one, don't want it electronically. I want something to read during my weekly 3 hour train runs, on the toilet, whereever there isn't a computer.
Metalhead, Admiral Pieg, if you want to sit at your computer 14/7 to do everything, be my guest, but it would help if you tried getting away from behind there and train your eyes on something real for a change... Even if it's transitionary like EON.

What I would love is to order an eon mag, get the pdf right away, then have the mag sent out...
Even if it cost more.
Atomic just released every pdf version of their mag last 2 issues, I don't think it's a big deal. Most books now come with the pdf version on cd with it.
BTW, atomic IS the best comp magazine :) -

You mean the same reasons I can read most gaming magazine articles online on their websites? Why doesnt EON have this if thats your defence?
Who said that I'd sit on my computer "14/7" to do everything? HMM.... it would help more if you assumed less about me, and took the time to read my posts above. As I basically indicated I was a bookworm at heart. As for reading on the toilet... there are those of us with PDA's and Ebook readers that would do the same.
Quote: do something real for a change
well reading a document using a handheld reader can hardly be classed as "not real" I mean unless you think that the PDA I would be holding is made of purely imaginative thoughts, that the stylus im navigating with is merely a projection of my mind, and that im dreaming of the content of the books, as opposed to reading material that has been written. To be honest its about as real as reading gets. ----- If you kill all the wolves, your gonna end up with a crapload of bunnies, and by bunnies I mean stupid people Eve & Linux Woot! |

You're missing my point reiisha. Im not interested in 95% of the content that EON offers. All i want is to see how the game im playing and paying for will look in the near future and to charge me 15$ for that is something i would expect from SOE not CCP. I just want to see pictures of the new engine, that is all.
And seriously, i play this game like 5 hours a week at most which is more then enough EVE for me. Im not that much of a fanboy to buy a magazine about the freakin game i already play, jeez. ______________

Edited by: Lord Timelord on 17/04/2006 06:24:03 I received my EON Magazine on Friday, 04/14/2006 [Rochester, New York, United States].
Good catch by someone above me in the post on that Minmatar Shuttle sitting under the Crusier on the cover. Very good indicator of the differences of ship sizes in the game.
BTW...
This issue has a lot of good content. For all you guys that can't really afford to subscribe to it, I'd suggest that you find a few gang mates that play the game in your town to purchase one sub to share with each other. With the Mag comming out quarterly, you have plenty of time to pass it around.
My Opinions on the mag:
1. Love MC's add in the inside cover!
2. Printing a High Resolution picture of a Dreadnought on such a fine print mag as EON without weapons fitted is just WRONG (see page 5)! I want to see those high-res gunz!
3. Page 7... OH HELL NO! NO WAY! EVER! You guys are cRaZY for even suggesting it!!!!
4. Pages 8-9. Someone should sell these in kits that you could put together! Design them and put them up for sale in the EVE Store CCP!
5. Los Vegas... I'm noticing a glaring LACK of babe photos here!
6. Page 14. I thought that these were supposed to be actually printed out on stock like last time? What gives?
7. Add on page 18 reminds me of the Video clip in StarCraft where the Terran Battlecrusier comes overhead in the middle of a battle!
8. Page 19. You aren't the only one to have a pimpin' ride!
9. All Chronicle Stories: MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE!!!!!
10. Page 34, Bottom Left Ship Picture. MAN that's a siginificant inprovement in looks! Might have to train to fly that one now!
11. Page 41. I would have cut the pic at least in 1/2, to make more room for text so the story could be bigger!
12. Page 45. Looks like a Shadow Ship from Babylon 5!
13. Page 47. Bottom right ship. Also looks SWEET!
14. Page 56. He looks like a tall dude! Best guess is 6' 3" in height. How close am I?
15. Kaaii's Trading Guide: Excellent IMHO. Props to ya!
16. James Lyrus's EW Guile: Also Excellent! Kudos to ya!
17. Page 73. Looks like a Parade Ceptor if you could hold it in your hand???
18. The fact that this EON arrived with a heavy crease through the top right corner, about 4 inches from the end. BOO! Mailman must have sat on it in the truck. __________

OMG OMG OMG!!!
So I awoke to what seemed to be an ordinary Saturday morning. I rolled out of bed with my hair still awry and film on my teeth and shuffled over to "Central Command" (the room my roommate--Belnessari DuBastyra--dubbed since both computers are located in there). With one sock up and the other half off, I sit down to log in. I am startled by my phone going off as my cat pounces on my desk meowing for his morning grub. It's an old friend of my mine on the phone calling to wish me a happy birthday to which I respond, "Yeah, thanks, one year older and I still haven't reached 0.0 space." Of course, he hasn't a clue of what I'm talking about. The convo deteriorates into a brief exchange of what I have planned for the day before my cat becomes totally unbearable. I hang up with my bud and feed the cat. I return to see a couple of b-day notes in the Eve-mail from my corp mates (thanks guys). My parents have a dinner planned and as I slowly pull myself together, I hear the mail man pass by. The whirl of his little engine is something I've come to listen for having waited for the previous issues. Not thinking anything of it (since the last time it took me about four weeks before I got my issue), I'm thinking to receive the latest bills and a few adverts, but lo and behold: An oversized white plastic mailer. My eye's quickly dialate as I stand elated in the street next to the mail box. It was like a scene from a horror movie when the door the victim is trying to get to suddenly pulls away as if it were moving against the escape attempt. Snatching the package, I quickly bound up the drive way and into the house in one swoop of action!
All I have to say is WOW! Great issue! I especially like the articles by DigitalCommunist, James Lyrus, the Story by Fran Macjus...awesome awesome awesome. I really like to read the interviews about the staff at CCP, what a wonderful way to personalize a such a fun company. (Hey, Mr. PTtursson, can I call you Redd?--maybe I better not, he is wearing a Guristas t-shirt after all...hmm, the CEO of CCP is also the CEO of the Guristas!--Inconcievable!) The ads look great!Props to the Mercenary Coalition (LOL)! What a fun ad! Truly an example of saying more with less.
Yeah, yeah, the dinner went great. Got some good stuff. Went out. Got drunk. Endymius DuBastyra (another corp mate of mine) puked. But the best part of it all was the Mag. Thanks guys! This is the fastest delivery to date and I am one satisfied customer! Keep up the good work and thanks for making my birthday a very memorable one.

The cardstock postcards last issue were a one time subscription bonus. Each issue is going to have screenshots submitted from players in the part called "Postcards from the Edge" or something.

April 18th and my copy still hasn't arrived. (Southern Germany)
Preordered 1-year subscription equals last copy sent out? got mine (Melb, Oz) today.
My quick review: not read the chronicles yet, so i'llassume they are high quality as always the graphics upgrade pictures look amazing reiisha's history thing is great, can't wait to read the next installment Hellmar and Masha's interviews were insightful The MC advert kicks ass some of the other adverts look horrible - low quality screencaps 4tl the article about the paper models is good Front cover is friggen awesome - was reading it while eating lunch and the guy next to me wanted to know what star wars film it was from. Recon guide is handy, might have to go buy one.
all up - 8.5/10 on teh oz scale of coolness

Instead of blaming CCP/MMM Publishing on 'The Way this is handled', perhaps, just perhaps theres an issue with the people delivering it i.e. the german postal service.

Number three was good. Most of the articles kept up the same standard as from #2, with some being significantly better.
Reiisha's article gets full marks from me. I didn't participate in beta, so I love hearing about the formation of the corporations before launch. Personally, I can't wait for more history, since the next chapter will be from the time I remember.
The chronicles weren't quite as gripping as last time, I must say, but not bad at all. In my opinion, stories chosen for EON should incorporate specific insights into the EVE universe as well as a story. Either that, or tie strongly into one of EVE's big themes.
Suggestions for articles:
I'd love to see something about alliance politics. This relates to the history bit, but it doesn't have to be in that tone. It could be an article on alliance structure, regional control (and comparison between the different regions, with respect to quality of resources and how contested they are) and an overview of diplomatic relations.
I'd also love to see the IC character interviews/bios relate to each other. How about having a dual Jade Constantine/Halseth Durn one, for instance? Or Xirtam/Foyle?
Finally, I'd much rather see tidbits of tactical advice, hints and tips, rather than fairly arbitrary top-ten lists and quotations from Omgrawr.net
The last page is usually a sort of disappointment, to be honest. I'd scrap that whole section and move WDA there, as a nice punchline to end the issue on a high note. ------------------------------------------- "Never underestimate the power of language."

Tachy - I appreciate that you have not had your magazine, but as you can see, the magazine is reaching its intended recipients all over the world. When you mail stuff, sometimes, just sometimes, stuff goes missing, and it's pants when it happens to you. I'm not saying this is the case here, but there is no reason for it not to have reached you, other than, as you say, the fact that the first two issues took three weeks to arrive. When we mail the magazine, we mail them all. Nothing is held back, or intentionally delayed.
I am not saying that this is the case with you at all, but you would be amazed at how many people key in their address incorectly, then blame us for not delivering it. Seriously, this has happened on many, many ocassions. If, for some reason, your magazine does not arrive in a realistic period of time, we will ship another one. At our cost, obviously. Just as we have done for everyone else whose copies have not made it around the world, for whatever reason. Right now, there are dozens of people who would like to get hold of issue #001, which has sold out. Right now, there are well in excess of 150 copies of issue #001 stuck in the bottom of mail sacks all over the world, mags that have never made it to the correct destination. Those re-shipped mags would have been available to others, were it not for the ineptitude of mailing operations around the globe.
We have no control, just as you don't, over the mail service in our, or your, particular country. We have endeavoured to improve the front-end mailing operation at our end, in order that everyone receives their magazine as swiftly as possible. Should your magazine not arrive within an acceptable period of time, please email [email protected] with your order number and address, and we will sort you out. In the meantime, I'd be very keen to know which gaming shop you have seen the magazine in, if you wouldn't mind, because we don't distribute it to anyone for further sale. Again, the same email will reach me.

If I received issue #1 and #2 can I assume CCP mailed issue #3 to the same (correct) address?

Just got issue #2 and #3, and I am very happy with them both. Excellent source of information!
Is there any other news on EVE Mobile that is mentioned in #2, though? Also, is it just me, or does the cover of E-ON have way too much empty black space? _ It has returned...

Edited by: Don West on 19/04/2006 12:54:55 The most important thing about EON, (or lets say one of the most important) about this issue is it mentions a free Ship Sizing Poster(Taken from This Picture) will be provided to anyone who signed up for a yearly subscription to EON between EON #1 and EON #4.
Yep sign me up! As if the magazine wasn't enough, this "Huge Poster" is going to be awesome!

Hmm, it arrived in northern Bavaria last saturday I believe. The first issue *did* take a couple extra days.
Mostly when mail doesn't arrive in time I've found that to be due to human incompetence, and that includes me for stating the wrong address in at least two cases after moving. But ask your local mailman whether there's a vacation substitute doing delivery during the Easter vacation time. Those can be amazingly incompetent, too.
Unfortunately official lost mail checks can only be initiated from the sending side, and rarely return a result for letters.
Say, what shop would offer E-On locally? I've never seen that.

No EON today. No vacation substitute, same woman as every day. The last two came originally packaged, so it wasn't a post(wo)man reading them for two weeks.
I checked the adress on the last two wraps and it is the correct one.
I talked to the shop owner. He got the two mags directly in London from his brother and is selling them just as a hook into EVE. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

I work at UPS while I'm finishing up university and it's no surprise to see magazines get delivered late. Sometimes packages are placed (or more realistically, thrown) in the wrong trailer, ending up thousands of km from where they should be. Wrong addresses are a common sight, and most have to be corrected before they can be sent out (which can take a while if the receiver is hard to get a hold of). Some are left behind for a couple days, either the driver has way too much work already or it just gets lost somewhere.
Most of the stuff gets to where it's going in good time, but I'd say on a given day 10% of everything that comes through our building suffers some kind of snag.

Having read most of the articles now I must say it's been a real good read thus far.
What I would definitely read in the next e-on would be:
- a tour around the new CCP offices (with many pics pls ) - an Insider's guide about NPC'ing (perferably with detailed info of each npc pirate faction) - Carrier Testflight (limited userbase but should nevertheless be interesting for everyone, one can dream right ) - EVE timeline graph (spread out over the centerfold pls!) with important milestones (like release of tech2 (miner2 incident), nerf of dual MWD, first battleship (by TTI i believe?), release of sentries, release of expansions etc. to have a bird's eye perspective on the past 3 years.
And ofcourse the 'Free Massive Poster'! Please make it A0 or at least A1 sized

We do not have a serious issue with shipping. We ship many, many, many magazines all over the world. The nature of mail is that sometimes things go astray, for no apparent or sensible reason. We can not control how mailing services all over the world work, but we can and will minimize your disappointment by sorting problems as quickly as we can.
Email sent back.
At least in my case, this is true. Apparently my issue got returned with the reason being my address was "incorrect or incomplete", but the address was exactly what it was supposed to be. So I must conclude someone at the US Postal Service is incompetent (I know, this must be hard to believe), and CCP (and their partners) are not at all to blame.

Browsed the thread and didn't find an answer to this .......
What fields count as combat? Because judging by our ranking darth's massive industry SP must have been taken into account.
Edit: OMG Malken ganked my joke :/

I have read all three issues thus far. I was glad to see the improvement in the ships guide. However, one problem is the stories.
Dont get me wrong, they are amazing stories and great reads. But I have hated the endings of every single one. Its like the story jumped off a cliff and no one got to see the splat. (Apologies for the gruesome picture).
I fully understand that space is limited and there are time constraints. I am also not asking for a story with all the knots neatly tied up either. But I would at least like to have seen a more fleshed out ending to the station exploding story.

As a community member since 2001, I felt that riisha's article on eve history skimmed over the whole subject, omitting certain very major developments and focusing on some that, in retrospect, did not seem all that important. I certainly was hoping for a better account of the early eve history period which I had been an eyewitness to.

tbh, lately CCP and everything EVE-related has been losing its quality, customer service, bug fixes, EON responsiveness...
