JINX HSC	Posted - 2003.09.17 19:15:00 - [31] I think it's because all our gfx cards are too new for eve, and they aren't correctly supported yet. I have a FX 5900 Ultra, and the FX 5600 Ultra is actually newer than the 5900. I had the problem before the patch, a workaround i used was to change some of the advanced settings, like putting AA on x2 or x4, sometimes it worked, but now it's completely unresponsive.

Baff's Ugly	Posted - 2003.09.17 22:15:00 - [34] pig pig pig reinstalled everywhich way tried latest drivers and also 43.45 drivers and reinstalled a lot. tech support say re install and use a download manager. hope they come up with a serious reply soon. probably a robot response. anyone know how to use the server log program so i have a serious error report to attach to my next help request?
Chris Reed	Posted - 2003.09.17 22:27:00 - [35] The solution is actually just weird. I found that when I type the wrong password first, then I'll get through on the second try. Don't know why, but it's obviously some sort of bug in the authorization system... Hope this helps a few disgruntled souls out there... ;)

Zoran Durrant	Posted - 2003.09.17 22:57:00 - [37] After doing some digging this does not seem to be a graphics card problem. It seems to a patch program problem. The patch programs downloaded either automatically in game or through the web site are identical. Yet if installed from outside the game it messes up. Some of the EVE files get corrupted during the patch process. You can see this by compairing two different EVE directories after installing the patch using the two methods. It seems CCP needs to get itself a new patch program.

Chris Reed	Posted - 2003.09.18 00:45:00 - [40] Trust me on this, the simplest fix for this exact problem is to try to log on with the wrong password first... When you try again with the correct pw, it runs smoothly...

Cleared cache must do Logged on with a bad Password Logged on with a Good password and now I am in boggle FX 5600 256MB 2nd machine Gforce2 MX 400 -- No problems Both machines downloaded from the web! Freya Jones	Posted - 2003.09.18 03:44:00 - [42] Unfortunately this fix DID NOT work for me I just bought a new vid card to make this game work (geForce4 440), so this is not a 5900 problem, and it goes to the log-in and then the dreaded black screen... Any ideas at all? I did try the wrong password thing, just installed the latest drivers... Does anybody but players look at this board?

Krauss	Posted - 2003.09.18 06:49:00 - [44] i also have the 5600 fx and have had the problem since the last patch, but rebooting and logging in again seemed to work. Now the prob is much worse, i get blank screen 90% of the time. Will try the wrong login approach.

Liem	Posted - 2003.09.18 18:53:00 - [53] I got 2 computers, and I have the same problem on the computer with FX5600, my other computer has a G-Force 256 MX. So i think its a video card problem. I ran the log server and it show there was a error in loading an index buffer? So I copyed the installation from the GeForce 256 mx computer. and now it works... for now.
