I have done my wrongs in eve..I have been a carebear in the begining of my days..but came too be a theft and pirate. But thus EvE..now as like alot of alot of my other old timers that I know..have gotten too be old within eve..The guys I know as of my young days made the roads for the noobs pirate too talk smack etc..etc.
But I'm not here too talk smack or give you my hardcore side...just to talk honestly...I've givent thought of this lately..even with my billions and dreads and everything I wanted..I have gottened..not all the time fairly ..but still..I have gain. *hence pirate..is a title..used by many but only honored by the few of the older days when you had to make your own with one character...
I'm thinking of seriously retiring my account due too I'm tired of eve unless they come up with something new..Older players..know what I'm talking about..I've been here since beta..since 2003 the ones that have been ingame at that time know what I'm talking about carebear or not...I roleplay each side..you have me on my pirate hardcore character now but also shows I have a carebear side that was input into me in the beginning..but turned cold as I got raped and taking advanage of in my younger days of eve..
So my question too the public ..new or old..should I give up on a dream that I had with eve when I first played..as a noob and lonely miner..shafted..then molded into a pirate ..thus some I have ganked..some I have stolen ..all in roleplay of the mold I was made in when I came into eve as a noob 3 years ago.
I still hold too my pirate ways..cause some of the best people you will know and understand in eve friendship level is pirates..if you get to know real one ..not just fakes..that feed off of the rep of others that made the roads that so many take...
...I want to know if there is any of my kind for eve now..we have grown since my younger days of eve when we had 10k on and that was awesome..but still with our skillz there isnt a balance...on a pvp look at it ..if we go out in a bs..max skillz and get ganked..by 2 frigs only a year old...what is it too use..the balance between the old and new is thus my question...
There seems to be nothing with the older players in eve..back in the day we could take on frigs..with missles or torps..now we cant..cause we cant hit them..even with max drones skilz..yeah you can bs me and say change your setup..but that bs..if you have 35m SP chatacter...against a 10m character you should have the upper hand...even in a bs...
I'm tired of this..if I wanted to play like this I would had gone into WOW..but I didnt..cause I beleive in eve thus my time has shown..and my honor of my corp I roll.
Let me know your thoughts..good or not..I'll listen and give you my honest thought on it..

Good post not quiet as old a you but im a little over 2 years old and im getting a littlebit tired of the same thing as you. Well tier 3 bs will hopefully pwn, and yeah a 5mill sp nub with jammers can take on a +25skillpoint char is just crap.

I have kept quiet..for years..too only see where eve is going..and thus...is this..I'm a solo player alot of the time..I do have my corp for ops and such..but still I'm old school..I like to hold my own...all my skillz are in bs and tanking and dread..why should I let a frig or elite frigate take me down...just look at the numbers here in isk of what I have too lose..2 frigs..say..100m givng a good break..there..too my 300m battleship with sentrie drones all at level 5 and everything maxed...just getting lame...I have only had this handed too me 1 or 2 times..but still..makes me look to the future of eve..if they want to screw us older players that put up with all the patches..and crap...only too find that we dont mean crap too them and thus there only looking for numbers to max out the server with is bs...I might be a player in eve..but I'm not stupid business man RL.
Let me know what you think...I could be wrong might not ..open room for all too talk.

If you're looking for a place where the older players own the younger players, then yes WoW is perfect for you. Lvl 60's with all epic gear are untouchable by most anything lower lvl then them

neway tbh that guy is right eve is one of the only games that a new player with less then a mill sp can still atleast be usefull in pvp . . .u tought me that XD
1 scrambler can be the most usefull thing u can ever do
and a 16 billion isk rattle snake set up would still not be able to shoot my recon ship
and with no wcs fine i wouldnt be able to kill the uber tank on it, but i would still be able to **** him off to the point of insanity
in short eve is the only game where your intelagence wit and a little bit of luck are the only things keeping you safe

nothing can match the player skill. in eve the main thing i have learned is to stay by your word. fight fair. may people do not do al of these things, so when you lose you learn from it. you get better as a player, i have been humbled many times. i have been WTFOMGBBQ PWNED a lot as well. but the more that happens the more i learn. i think eve is a much better game, and the older your char gets the better you can play. you can use T2 guns and ships, slowly grow make friends and fight with your friends against your enemys. you get on TS with your corp, make fun of your CEO a little and just have fun. that is why you play the game. just to have fun. thta is my 2 isk.

with all due respect..thus I need to be classes hence my style..yes are paths crosses at one time..but then ..you have to understand..I'm a pirate..I dont play on your own field..I play on mine that I choose..you could blah to me why I smacked ya in local for 1 hour which I do still have the logs..if you wish I will post..but I dont think you want too get diss that bad..even given I was drunk at that time..but I leave that up too you..if you want me too or not.. I didnt fight you that time because...I knew you where allainced with some of the people in the area..and didnt want to get jumped..1vs9 or whatever...hence why I stayed docked..and even when I found out you where solo..you still ran..but no worries..if you ever want too give it a go again let me know..all in fun..no worries..I wont post your killmail onto my kill list which I only keep tomyself most of the time...:P

Well.. you are sortof right. The BS nerfs have and will always be bullshlt. Like saying a sea faring battleship with all its high tech electronics can¦t gun down a tourist plane... Stupid? Yes! Unrealistic? Yes that too... lets get real.
Now that said, max skills on FoF cruise missiles and a large SB (just in case) will easily dispose of t1 frigs. Other frigs are harder, but will die too. It¦s just that it can take a ridiculous amount of time. To be sure, Large ships should in theory have tons of gear with superior tracking capabilities relative to smaller ships, and one blast from a gun or one cruise missiles should easily pawn any smaller vessel.
Right now I just chain kill n00bs and afk players from 200-250k with cruise and cloak at any sign of local getting hysterical. Unfair? Hey, you gotta make a living given the circumstances, right? To every nerfing action, there¦s gotta be a reaction ;)

I wont give up...trust me..I have all trades..I can go into to..I see tons of corps out there with a sign up please rip me off..but Honestly...I tired of it...I could rip of billions more into my theiving days of old..but what would that do for me..I have all I want now..what is a billion more too me..its nothing...I could come back..hence I'm offline atm..in eve due to RL issues..corp knows about..but ingame...I'm getting close to hanging it up...and looking too other roleplay games..if I have been here since 2003 such as others..but only mean nothing too all the things we have gone thru..why should I stay..Eve is thus a waste of my time...hence I have waisted 3 years of only too be left like many others of old..left with training and keeping with the dream..only to left too..a sell out ..of more then thus the dream eve was built on..
I could be wrong ..but my personal feelings deem different. and soon I will make my choice of what thus where my gaming style will lie...

I was with you up untill you said that hehe. Now I don't know if I should share my opinion on why but I think I will.
More skillpoints do have a upper hand in some cases but it shouldn't be the major factor of the win. If you think it does, then move to WoW and play a class where your armor means everything. So you can always have the upper hand in a non-balanced system. Eve is about being balanced so everyone can have a shot at winning and not just a shot but a real shot. A shot you have to work for and do your homework for, not just a easy shot but atleast a shot. What you're saying there Swisher is by default you should dominate or be on top to dominate because you found the game first. Not about who has more experience, better setup, and overall better tactics. If it was like that then even you with all your SP will be defeated with little to no chance by someone who bought a account on ebay who was created way before you. We want all new players to keep playing the game. Because in your eyes there be no way players like myself could catch up and beat you on your level. Unless I could physicaly make your skill training stop for a year.
So in that and how you think how it should be, I really don't know what else to say but "meh" and hope you enjoy your retirement. Eve is not for you :)

hmm yes wow is your game if you like constantly moving to higher tiers as fast and high as possible
its a gross game... you can do alot like... farm xp, farm items, farm rep or you dont farm and get killed by farmers because they have better gear (which is even more meaningless because theres no kind of death penalty)
i dont really understand what your point is but you're prolly just bored, take a break and come back in a year or something
as for newbies having it easier now, fyi mmo's need newbies like you need air
if your game is not attractive enough to them your game will eventually die

I understand where you come from..nothing hardcore but your nothing new too my kind..I've heard your smack at me before...you cant hack the new or changes or patches..I have been there for all of them....its not all about your tactics..I can tell you more then you could even think of about pirating tactics..all depends on your force and if yoru solo or not...
My point is this..I am a elite bs pilot also a dread pheo pilot..anyone care to test test me let me know..other then the ones I have ganked on test server..that know me..server wise..wish not too..test me..not..tryong to boost of myself...but still..I have been there..ingame..I have seen it grow..I have been a carebear and screwed then came into what my history has shown..thus only know me by me personal by my corp and whom I call true friends within eve..cause I know all of them personally...
I respect your outlook of my situation..but dont agree with yours..my point is this..if I'm a vet..I have trained my char..into tanking bs tactics..why should I let frigs gank my ship..only done 2 times btw..but still is on the back of my mind...a but hold where eve is going..

Try something else besides pvp, this game is so open that you have to make your own fun in it. Start training up for manufactureing/mining and go build a fleet for someone, cause economic disturbance, or whatever. Once you max out the mining and manufacturing, go build your own personal titan. That should keep you busy for a while.

It's actually very realistic. One of the primary reasons that the Bismark was sunk was because it's anti-aircraft guns couldn't track *slow enough* to hit the small torpeodo planes that were attacking it.
But more to your point, it's more like saying that a sea faring battleship couldn't shoot down a light fast attack aircraft, which is in fact largely the case.

Why? Larger guns means slower guns. That's the way it is in life, that's the way it is in game. PT boats were amoung the smallest attack craft in the Pacific campaign of WWII, but were also the hardest for enemy ships to tackle because of their small size and impressive speed.
What would be totally unrealistic would be a huge gun that was capable of tracking or targetting a smaller faster craft.

C) Logs of me saying "undock" and you spewing out insults is hardly something I should be ashamed of.
If you're such a coward that you don't even want your enemies to have a chance at killing you then Eve is obviously not for you.

nice to at least see ya again swisher, that being said solo piracy has evolved for the most part into small groups however sad it may be for some of us. then again i still feel that newer players if co-ordinated should be able to kill a solo BS, i dont know about two frig pilots, but under sentries if those were the cases gladely accept that part of the game.

When I die and get my ass handed to me. Then I know there is only one explination for that. It was my fault. That might sound*****y but truly it is. It's my fault I didn't think of that first. It's my fault I didn't juggle every possiable outcome from the fight. You're a vet and with that you should have a great advantage over someone like me. Not in skillpoints though but in knowledge, skill, and tactics.
So you say being you have elite skills in tanking why should frigate noobs gank you ship. The question is not how they did it. It's why you let them do it. Eve is one of the most skill intensive MMORPG's I've played where it's not gained through clicking. It's gained through paying attention. It's almost realistic it's scary. You're in the navy or something and you should understand this more than me. You can set a army guy in life with all the skills and knowledge he could possiable hold. Yet he wont execute it as well compared to someone who has experience in that field. This is you in EVE. You both have experience and the skill to do what most of us can't but instead you fail to execute it to the fullness. I know that sounded like smack but not everyone from beta by default can be the best. Some people just have a nack for it and others don't. EVE is not a default win because you played since beta. You got to work for it
I'm not trying to sound mean or smacktalk you but your whole outlook seems like you should be given something because you have played for a very long time. You sound like you tried to work for it but you failed somewhere along the line and now demanding a prize because you came from beta. It just doesn't work that way. Eve is pretty balanced, if you died to noobs then guess what. You're not all that good as you think you are. It's sucks to think it but really it's just a game. I suck compared to a lot of people. That doesn't stop me from playing. Just motivates me to become better without being from beta
Please someone stop me if im wrong...
