Ah Malka, as pathetic as ever. You failed misserably at 'teaching' the few people who would listen to your rantings to PVP because all you do is whine at people who do it 'wrong' in your oppinion, you have thrown out some tips and for some reason think that should be enough. You now can't stand the PVP uni doing well because A: they secceed in teaching, B: their students are happy with the courses, C: new people and others are stretching the limits of the uni's capacity to provide enough courses, and D: they make a good deal of ISK doing it.
You have no concept what so ever of the value of learning the absolute basics for someone realy completely new to pvp. To move in fleets, basic traps, a bit of wolfpack discipline, concentrating fire, keeping range, simple target threat assesment, hell, even just fitting your ship to make use of its bonusses and strenghs, and when to sometimes ignore those bonusses... let alone moderately advanced stuff like fleet role assignment and cooperation and GOOD anti-drone combat for small ships.
All that seems simple now, after a few years of play, but it's immensely valuable to new players and Rells with his PVP uni provide that service very well indeed. ----

PVP isn't that hard and it doesnt take a genius or mouse-clicking god to get it right, seriously, just buy some t1 ships and go do it. Practice is what makes you better, not some dude telling you to push some buttons.

Good job on the Mega kill Rells and co.
I saw your gang floating about when me and a friend were out looking for targets. Having been in a few T1 frigate/destroyer gangs I know how deadly they can be so we decided not to engage. You guys nearly got my Jag and my friends Eagle.
Keep up the good work, more active PvPers means more people willing to give a good fight, regardless of what ship they fly.

The PvP University courses teach a lot more than just "pushing some buttons" AND they get you out there practising with experienced pilots. As a newcomer to Eve I was extremely impressed with these lessons. Both the reading material and class itself were very high quality and professionally done; they taught me many things, all the while having a great time. Within a few weeks of starting this game, I'm out there in 0.0 killing battleships. It's a great feeling. :)
I was so impressed with the lessons, I applied to join Agony immediately afterwards. |

I'd be one of the graduates that paid 5m per class a class. As for why I pay 5m for the class, I didn't do it for some dude to tell me to push buttons. I took the class because...

But having an instructor sitting next to you watching you fly and helping you learn makes all the difference. AFAIK, you can't get a pilot's license without going through some sort of flight school being taught by an instructor/s. Yea, cause PVP in EVE is the same thing as flying an airplane IRL
All im saying is, if you had taken your 5m and just fit out a bunch of t1 frigs you would have gained more practical experience on your own than flying around in a blob.
Even flying in a small gang, unless you're lead (and especially if your lazy like me) you dont do anything cept target and activate modules. Oh, you have to listen (or read chat) as well, and occasionaly push the jump button.
In a blob (i.e. 14 pilots), your responsiblities become even fewer, boredom gets greater, and those two add up to you doing and learning even less.
BTW, I just wanted to congratulate Rells. He is, after all, getting a bunch of people to pay him to be a part of his frig gank blobs. I'm going to repeat that because it's so funny and admirable:
He is getting people to pay to gang up with him.

Honestly, killing a mega with 14 of anything except maybe mining barges or haulers isn't very impressive and certainly doesn't deserve a press release.
But, if you're having fun and making money, more power to you.

So let me get this straight. You want someone to tell you events of a situation that occured publically and was recorded by dozens of "students", to prove truth or false?
Alt or not, all it proves is that the information was obtainable but not how it was obtained. Might want to rethink your requesting logic, as if you really think a simple answer proves or disproves attendance.. then maybe you do lack the insight needed to do more than tell people which buttons to press.

Guys, get a grip
As Deja pointed out. This isn't about how great it was to get a BS kill with 14 destroyers, or about the setups and tactics Rells teaches. It's about getting more people who wouldn't normally PvP, or go into low sec, and showing them it's a great part of the game and nothing to be feared.
People will take Rells info as a base and work out their own setups for what suits them.
Rells gets credit for this initiative in helping achieve one of CCP's primary aims. If he gets a bit isk for his time and effort then to me thats only fair.
Hey, this is my reality ... and I don't remember inviting you |

Oh ffs get a clue.
Do you know how little some people know when it comes to ship setups etc?
If they were left to their own devices they would fit a rifter with a blaster (for short range) and a railgun for long range.
Theres a 1000 things new people can learn from spending a bit of time with a vet (hell, even just how to use the overview properly is a thing a lot of people dont know)
All these *yawn* posts get on my nerves. They are made by people who have forgotten what it is like to be new (or worse) people who think they have peaked and can learn no more.

Damn. I totally forgot about the setups part. If Rells does help setups(IIRC,) I remember one of his posts on it, and I think he does.) then, sure thats good. But, I haven't taken the course, but does he teach anything that Ship and Modules wouldn't? (Honest question.) Honestly, I don't understand this thread. 1. Why it's not in Crime and Punishment, IMO. 2. Why we keep seeing topics on Rells courses. It seems spammy to me. Make one topic, and maybe have it stickeied in Crime and Punishment. 3. Why people think that 13 destroyers and a Caracal shouldn't totally demolish a Megathron.

I've never been to AU's pvp school and i think half an hour in a gang with Rells would drive me to self harm, but i think it's still a nice idea.
Confidence and staying calm are such massive parts of pvp, anything that can give new players these is a Good Thing. Sure, ganking a snipathron with 14 destroyers packed with EW isn't the most earth shattering thing to ever happen, but it's still a BS kill and next time these players encounter a BS, they'll know its not invincible.
Although hopefully they won't be in a kestrel when they do decide to solo one.
no skills, just luck.
