All galaxies have a big black hole in their center. Take the milky way as a spiral galaxy for example. But ffs where is this in New Eden?? Thousands of solar systems static in space?? Astrophysical nightmare. Plz patch that up CCP! thank you very thousand |

Between clusters of galaxies there are strung out ribbons of clusters of stars that are thousands of light years long, the EvE cluster could be about 1% of one of those. But there's me thinking you know what you're talking about. Sorry.

If there is one in EVE, I'd bet it's in Syndicate.

As already stated, New Eden is not a galaxy.
Just also putting it out there that galaxies such as M33 do not appear to have sufficient central stellar velocity dispersions to contain central supermassive black holes. To assume that every galaxy has a supermassive black hole is simply wrong...
Edit: Spelling Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person." |

New Eden is about 120ly across at widest spot. Most galaxies are between 320ly and 3,200,000ly in diameter.
If we look at the Large Magellanic Cloud (close neighbour to Milky Way, lets pretend New Eden is in the LMC), I've marked the apparent size of New Eden on the map with a big red blob:
http://i.imgur.com/WlgIzh7.png
(It's the small dot at the center of the cloud, LMC is 14,000ly in diameter)
On the amount of stars: Larges galaxies have up to 100,000,000,000,000 stars.

Overall structure is governed by the gates coming out of the point of origin, i.e. the EVE Gate. |

What about all that white star matter that gets sucked away from stars that are providing life giving energy to healthy, productive planetary systems and instead is fed into a bottomless pit of taking from which no one ever seems to escape?

Also it should be noted that EVE map represents only known parts of the space that are reachable by star gates, there could be any number of systems we just have no way of reaching them.

Perhaps the black hole is there, but our systems are not calibrated to show it since we cannot reach it and it is not relevant to our activities.

Somewhere in (or around) Minmatar space there is a thing called "Ginnungagap". You can see it on the Star Map. You can also right-click it and "Show Info" to read that it is, in fact, a black hole. |
