I know this is a trial and all, but sales of skins would go MUCH better if A) All ships could be re-skinned B) You had cool skins (hello kitty, Nuka-cola, etc etc etc) Bonus C) Just let us upload our own skins already - give us wrapper templates for the hulls, let us color them in, and use em - client side only for now, maybe global database later.

All my characters still have all their free aurum, I refuse to participate in that nonsense. Oh... but the cop car is cool.

Buying specific 'pre-fab' skins is largely redundant and is utterly impersonal. You haven't 'personalised' your avatar by spending $50 (or whatever it actually is) on a monocle, or goggles, or one of three very-90's looking fashion disasters to wear on your legs or chest any more than you express 'yourself' (whoever that is) by inflicting one of several or very few skins upon your selected ship. A more far-sighted and attractive scenario would be real, albeit limited, personalization of the paint job as an extension of corporation emblem design. Re-skinning should be able to be personalised based on a selection of camouflage or other design templates which can then have their highs, mids and lows chosen to reflect the individual pilot or their corporation. Specific areas of the ship could display a corp logo or whatever - just as pirate faction ships have specific paint and their respective pirate decals applied. This would be far more attractive than an assortment of pre-made, and utterly impersonal paint jobs, and would inspire (I presume) entire corps to demand members to effectively hand over real monies to skin their ship just so.... Win for the individual, win for the corporation selling them.

Also, I think the real strenght of this would be if CCP adds in a system that allows alliances to make a custom colour scheme available to their pilots so they can fly under their alliance colours. There's no direct evidence to indicate that sales aren't already good. This could very well be a planned part of the data collection looking at different pricing points within the trial period. We don't really have any data to know whether early sales have met, exceeded or under performed against CCPs expectations. Secondly, my new gank/awox/wardec alt wouldn't particularly care if the blueprints dropped or not. As long as the ship dies, so can the skin. Its not like that character would ever bother skinning a ship that will never be flown. In my opinion the player need to be able to select the colour combinations, 2 -3 looks for each ship just isn't making a real difference. Having the option for selecting different paint patterns (camouflage, speed stripes etc) as well would be great - and remove the only disadvantage I see being able to choose your own colours has vs complete paint jobs, which is that the pattern on the ship would stay the same when just choosing colour, but with a total paint job the artist is completely free in their choices.

My youngest watches me roam on my PvP alt. she has requested MY Little Pony skins. Personally, I think they should add some solid colors to the test. Several here have asked for black, white, ect. Blood red would also look good. I think that would provide a better test result. I have a feeling there are lots of people who would buy skins, just don't care for THESE test skins. (like myself)
