Why do you need a sensorbooster on a Scimitar ? You will be beyond effective range of your modules anyway if you need a sensorbooster to reach your friendlies. _____________________________

Max lock range with long range targetting 5 is 56km. I haven't done the math on large shield transporter range yet but you are probably correct in that the sensor booster is not neccessary as it is not looking like I will get further than that.

Max range on large shield transporter I = 42km and 55.25km on the tracking links. Seems CCP thought it thru when they decided on the ship locking range :) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mine from memory:
4 T2 med shield transporters
1 T2 10mn AB (just under 900m/s with my skills) 1 invul (too poor for T2 :P) 1 T2 med shield extender 1 named cap charger 1 T2 med cap battery
then it's either 3 PDU and 1 CPR or 2 and 2, i forget which. Fully sustainable cap, although i do have shield emmissions 4 and logistics 5...

I manage to fit
High: 3 Large T1 Shield Transporters / 1 Med Remote Armour Rep (Offline)
Med: 2 Med Cap Batteries
All rest are cap rechargers
This runs indefinatly.
I have heard that it is possible to have four Remote Shield Reps going Indeffinatly with a Tracking link, but I have not worked this one out yet.

Maxing out the remote shield boosting is all well and good, but to be honest, the Basilisk is much better for that task. The Scimitar gets its main bonus with tracking enhancing, boosting tracking speed and optimal range of friendly ships.
As such I'd set it up with some tracking link II's or good named ones, CPR's in the low slots and _then_ look at how much is left for shield boosting.
I'm not entirely sure how much remote boosting gets of the stacking penalty, but a scimitar could be very well off some 40 km behind a group of sniping battleships in a fleet battle, giving them just the range they need to be able to fire on the enemy without getting hit back.

Warp Core Stabilizer I Reactor Control Unit I Capacitor Power Relay I Capacitor Power Relay I
NOTES : * Logistics 5 will save you buying those Cap II's * Shield emissions 4 and Logistics 4 are essential * Reactor control was used to fit the 3x large transporters * Stab - i know but never leave home without one and its a support ship so you need the ability to get out. * Damage control was used as the slot was available and remember theres no tank so its in and out. * all these setups run infinitly * no ab - this sucked cap and borked the infinite goal. however, its base speed is pretty good and with the range (42km) you should be well within rep distance. * i used large transfers because you get alot more bang for your buck. 2x meds use 160hp/132cap x2 = 320hp/264cap 1x large does 320hp/280cap so you actually save a slot over the meds and inject hp faster and would soak up DPS alot better. (4x meds = 640hp / 2x large = 640hp + 1x med 160 = 800hp) as well as having a high slot free and 22grid and 184cpu left to play with. * you can drop the stab and/or the damage control and put whatever you feel will fit and be usefull to you but everything else runs the transfer infinitly.
Hope you like it :)

im ising the gallente one at the moment Oneiros ( training the amarr one next.)
i can fit 4 medium solace , 1 tracking link 2 , sustained, yeah , lvl 4 in the transfer/emissions and logistics is essential.
i think i did the math somewhere... 312x4/6.4seconds ( throw in 3 light armors as well ) 208 armor per sec.... in all actuality , that isnt much , ( 1 large armor rep 2 does 66/sec ( 800/12sec)
but the CAP savings is astronomical.
my Corp member felt very safe with me on mission, i hope we can continue with the other logistics, till i finish those darn command pre-requisites
Team work is essential... It gives the other team something ELSE to shoot at!

on my scim I am running 2 med cap transfer arrays and 2 med shield transfer arrays. my first thought was to specialise in shield transfer for both shield and armor tanks but if you shield buff an armor tank the points will get burned away facter because your not taking advantage of the resists that ar in the armor.with my set up I can run any 2 arrays non stop and more than that will start pulling cap I have a very large cap so I can transfer some extra loven if the battle gets heated for a short period of time. in the mid slots I have cap batterys an AB and a shield booster, with one slot as a floater for a tracking buff or a target painter, webber or an extra battery. I tend to use the battery or the webber so that if a fast mover gets close to a ship I am tending I can put the breaks on and make him cannon bait. in the low slots I have a WCS and the rest are RCU. skills skills skills.

Curious that you chose to put a probe launcher on it. I'm not very familiar with the math behind probing, but would a logistical cruiser be capable of probing in a timely fashion (w/o the covert ops bonus)?
I've been toying with the Scimitar in QuickFit, and seem to favor a Nos in the highs as an insurance policy for pesky tacklers.

Edited by: Broegitte Bardot on 13/07/2007 17:05:01 the coverts "just" have this cute duration bonus; with signal acquisition i end up somewhere around 75seconds with "regular" ships - enough to go for solo-plex'ers (and who would expect a logistics to be the scout ^^)
nos would be a cute choice; alas the scimitar runs out of powergrid way before it runs out of cpu - therefore the named AB and SB instead of t2. of course, one could always downgrade a transporter or two to medium - but what a waste of ship-bonus ^^
humm i just downloaded quickfit yesterday and it doesn't seem to have the rev2 stats yet (?)

Leave off the cap transfers, you'll be more effective for them, even if they are armor tanking by giving them shields. the shear amount of shields an transfer with 2 large and a medium or 3 large is almost enough to tank a lot of things just with pure rep amount.
It's a little risky i know but i have once worked with a corp mate mine in a mega, and with him fitting nothing more than just 2 invul. i was able to tank the missions for him so he could go full gank

Yes and they are also stacking nerfed with any tracking mods (tracking computer/tracking enhancer) the target ship might have. This greatly reduces their usefulness. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Edited by: Asmodean Reborn on 03/08/2007 14:17:23 I've just trained up for a Scimitar - literally today. Mainly for the tracking link bonus. Shield support on a logistics ship is not very useful imo unless the ship can't tank the DPS (which in most cases an active shield tanker should be). It makes much more sense, therefore, for a shield tanker to have cap support - enabling it to perma rep. It is far more cap efficient than remote shield repping. Thats an added bonus for me. Tbh i'm not really certain if the tracking link bonus is that useful, if the 5% per level is worth training minnie cruiser 5 for.
It was mentioned earlier about the stacking penalty - that it even stacks with the tracking mods on the target ship. Is this definite? I'm starting to think that the minnie logistics is a tad underpowered, and perhaps should get a 7.5% or even 10% bonus to tracking link per level...

I see alot of variations in this ship which is very nice! I hate seeing one mod or two switched out.
Comments: Dont suggest other ships, if you are like me you take HIGH PRIDE in being Minmatar. If you are recognized as a Logistics ship YOU will be primaried, so these non tankable setups just dont seem useful guys. Survivability has to be a key ingredient, and one warp stab will not stop a fleet of 8 ships from creaming you in a few seconds. Also when this ship is in a fleet (its only purpose) make sure other ships have Sheild transfer arrays fitted to prolong your life (which means you have to stay on top of them because of transfer range)
Overall its a very useful ship, and very cheap in comparison to the other TECH II cruiser counter parts.
3 x Tech II large shield transfers (63km range), Possible use for 4th high slot: Drone link augmentor, take your Shield transfer drones to 65km, so you can sit 60 km away and do all the work necessary to keep em alive.

Well, depends. It has 2 more highslots so yeah.. you can simply put more reppers on. I think there's a difference in appliance. It's just my opinion, but I think the basilisk is more of a large fleet asset, depending on other ships for it's own defence (needing mids for cap recharge). And the Scimitar is more usefull in smaller gangs, being more able to look after itself and more mobile (faster) - having a lower possible remote rep in exchange.

isn't it funny how some people advocate both GTC<=>ISK trades and EVE being superior due to its cruelty and costly losses, when they use the former to circumvent the latter?

ALmost identical to mine (Standard launcher instead of Recon) which I use for exploration and support for my corp. I use combat drones though to help with the damage done.
One cap rig, Astrometrics rig. The Astro rig gives me the same scan times as using T1 astrometrics frig but the is considerably tougher and actually helps with the gang. An extra 260 shields/sec really makes a passive drake or Myrmi invulnerable to everything while the range and amount of the larges really help your AFs handle whatever they need to.

Warp to the gate where hostiles are, land within jump range. Aggro a small ship, they all primary you.
With 23,000 shield you should last long enough for aggro timer to wear off and jump through. In the mean time gang members jump/warp in and the fight starts.
Last as long as you can as primary while your gang members do the killing. Let the hostiles shoot you so they are not shooting your gang members. When you can jump out and the hostiles have wasted 2 mins shooting you, while dieing themselves.
A Scimitar makes for a very tasty and not so obviouse bait maybe.

Med MWD, T2 Warp Scrambler, T2 Webb, T2 Sensor Booster, Large Shield Extender If in a large fleet, swap the Sensor booster for anotehr T2 Warp Scrambler, you will have plenty of time to lock them down.

Can hold against another cruiser nicely, kill it slowely and tank damage nicely too. Makes for a very good heavy tackler against Battleships and Battle cruisers

Well I have read some nice setups in here and I must say that all of them are really cool and some are not,So let me share mine if I can have the mic for a sec.

*** MEDIUM SLOTS ***

*** LOW SLOTS ***
3x T2 Power Diags 1x T2 R.C.U.
*** RIGS ***
2x C.C.C. rigs
*** DRONES ***
4x Shield Rep Drones
Now I am sure a few of you are asking W.T.F. are you doing? Well thats a good question, and one not so easly answered. I figured since I am maxed out on all engineering skills ( all Lvl 5) and I am lvl 4 logistics ( Working on lvl 5 ) I figured to go all out shield transporter with a some what medium tank.
I have a cap recharge rate of little under 2 mins but that is why I have 27 400 cap booster in my cargo hold and 2 loaded giveing me a total of 29 400 cap boosters. That is to help with me running tank and supporting. My only fear is being called primary and not haveing anyone to help me if I should come under immediate attck.
I do not wish to be flamed. I share this information in hopes of someone correcting me politely and not to say you suck, quit eve and go play wow, go outside and blow your head off.

i use..
Large Shield transporter (best named) 2x dual 180 II's with barrage 1x malkuth heavy launcher with thunderbolts
Large Extender II 10mn MWD II 2x web II 24km scram
3x overdrive II 1x PDU II
9x warrior II
this setus is cheap, and can hit great speeds, i've already used it to chase down vaga's and double web them, I use it for running in gangs with vaga's and rapiers, where it is ideal for its role, it can keep up with the hac's and recons, and assist vaga's that get webbed or rapiers that get primaried. The scimitar is a very effective pvp ship, not just a standard logistics ship.

I have just reccently got a Scimitar and have started to experiment with my setup. Rightly or wrongly, I prefer being able to run the shield transporters with a sustained cap rather than using cap charges. With my skills at the moment (logistic 4), this is my setup for a small gang.
*HIGHS* 4x medium S95a Shield Transporters
*MIDS* 2x Cap recharger II 2x Large shield extenders II 1x Tracking link
*LOWS* 1x Cap recharger II 1x Nano fiber 2x PDCII
*RIGS* 2x CCC
The shield extenders are there to give me a bit of survivability. This can run the shield transporters all day. When my skills are slightly better in some areas (eg Logistics V), I could drop the cap recharger in the mid slot and replace it with a shield hardener or tracking link, still maintaining my cap.
I know I am using medium shield transporters here, but it can still boost enough for my liking.
In a gang with bigger ships I guess I have to swap to 2x Large transporters and cap boosters.

Mids:

This will go over 3kps minimum 4kps with a good MWD and skills and run both Large reps with the MWD constantly with good cap skills, logistics 4 and 1 very cheap implant (3% shield transporter efficiency).
Tactics: Orbit the ship your protecting at 65km and watch for faster ships coming after you. I sometimes use T2 light drones to protect against captors. Using this with vegas and Huggins in gang FTW. Have two in gang and your vertually invunerable due to mutual support.
Actually quite a cheap setup too.

Really they are best used in pairs for that reason mate and you never uncloak or warp in at the same time as the rest of the fleet. Let the chaos get going before you make your appearance.
The ship can passive tank a Drake at 3kps.
And my cap has never runs out. The regen rate is just rediculus.

I've only started playing around with setups and have only tested it helping corp mates in level 4's, but this is my setup so far:
High: 3 T2 Shield Transfers 1 Drone range extender mod
Med: Cap recharger II's
Low: CPR II's
Drone bay: 4 med, 1 small shield maintenance bot
Obviously only good to sit 70km out after someone else has agro, but perma-boosts the heck for shields.

Edited by: Nian Banks on 07/11/2007 20:12:49 I have been mulling over the Scimitar for a while not, had a couple for a while but just can't get over how low its powergrid is, really its a tragedy. Anyway yesterday I discovered the wonders of Deadspace Afterburners, I am quite serious, look at their stats and compare prices on the contract system, yes were talking around 100m-150m isk but they are between 6.75% and 28.88% better base than Tech2. Also I couldn't bring myself to using MWD with its horrible capacitor negatives, Need all the cap I can get. In the end this will be an expensive boat to fly, but hopefully it can avoid death to some extend. A minor tank is fitted, would like more but pg is too tight. Lastly, its made to take advantage of all bonuses. With the up coming sniper nerf (tracking computers), a sniper needs all the boost it can get. NB: No faction listed, use your own initiative.
All Round Scimitar
High 3x Large Shield Transporter II 1x Small Proton Smartbomb II Light/Medium Drone Defense
Medium 2x Tracking Link II 1x 10MN Afterburner II 1x Medium Shield Booster II 1x Medium Shield Extender II
Low 3x Power Diagnostic System II 1x Overdrive Injector System II
Rigs 2x Capacitor Control Circuit I
Drones 3x Warrior II 3x Medium Shield Maintenance Bot II

I'm glad to see there are other Logi pilots out there; I'd started to fear I was the only one! Yay! :D
There are some good configs on here; I wish I weren't at work and could get to my Scimi and mess with it. Before I had a Scimitar, I spent a LOT of time figuring out ways to efficiently fit logistics gear onto non-logistics vessels. Probably my greatest triumph was my Cyclone; I'm probably going to mirror that config onto the Scimitar with adjustments for different slots, etc.
Good info, guys - keep it up! And as far as anyone telling anyone in Logistics that they suck, someone said it correctly when they said that everyone sucks. My char was built, ground-up, from the beginning, to be Fleet Command and Logistics support; I've been flying repping Minmatar ships for a while now, and I still get surprised. I just recently actually got an actual Logistics ship, so I'm I'm kinda' excited about using some of this info. Wheee!!!

Ive just picked up a scimitar with 2xpolycarbon rigs, however ive got zilch logistics experience although i do have logistics V and shield emissions V (carrier training ftw).
Can anyone give me any suggestions for a good nano-pvp setup, i suppose my realy question is the use of shield extenders, seeing as one of the main bonus's of logistics ships are there small sig radius's... wouldnt passive shield tanking mess this up?
