Is there a mailing list available that will send out the latest Dev Blog when its released? If not, it may be worth creating one.

That sounds fun, and makes a lot of sense. Although I'm not entirely sure how you'd go about picking representatives of 'interests' within EVE. -- We are recruiting |

If you would have told the player community before E3 that there was going to be radio silence about upcoming features and plans because you wanted to announce it at E3, there would not have been anyone complaining at all. What you did was to assume that everybody would understand the reasons for the radio silence, when appearently they/we didnt. So next time i hope you will tell us before. Thats all.
I'll admit to dropping the ball with the lack of pre-E3 news and information. Even though this was my third E3, it was my first with a booth and I didn't think about the effect the 'radio silence' would have on the community. I will certainly apply that to the next trip CCP makes to E3. Looks like I need to train "Community Management and PR" a bit higher.

to be honest, all that was needed during the couple of weeks before E3 was "We're waiting until E3 before we release any more information to get the maximum coverage in the press".

In fact, you could have hyped it up and gotten even more coverage
Oh and Kieron, if you're looking for skills to go for, get the 'Paris Hilton Deployment' skillbook, just make sure you get the 'Video Camera Operation' pre-requisite ^^

Bah not 'Paris Hilton deployment skill'. He needs the Donald Trump skill book. Its got better percentages than Paris, but the drawbacks are loss of hair follicle control. --

This is awesome!
Are there plans to add forums for each of the represented professions/interests?

Nice guys, very nice. Good to see CCP has not lost touch with it's customers.
Your fast reaction to recent criticism has proven once again that CCP stands above some of the larger MMO publishers (*cough SOE ) when it comes to listening to your players.
Well done guys (and gals)

No you dont need to train anything. This week has been amazing with all the information and feedback you have poured all over us. First your blog with an update on the Kali timelines, then the Communication with CCP thread, followed by Band of bloggers, information about new patch coming (with updated patch notes and known bugs - very nice) and probably some more stuff i dont even remember because there is so much of it now.
Ok, now some constructive critisism. I dont really know how Quality Assurance works, but the graphical glitches after the patch are unfortunantly hard to miss. So are the copy/paste text issues, the tab changing delay and the new vertical spacing of the font. How come stuff like this makes it to Tranquility? It feels like the patch was rushed.
Also, I'm wondering if the petition system could be improved. Its not very interactive. You send a mail and you wait for several days (or even weeks) for a reply. And if the guy on the other side needs additional information, you have to wait all this time again. Its quite frustrating.
I bet hundreds of petitions are a total waste of time. People petitioning specific problems (ship not warping, market not opening, character stats not showing etc etc) which ALL have to do with the current server/database problem and will be solved automaticly when the main problem is solved. So there you are left with mountains of petitions that are already solved, but you still have to spend time analyzing them.
Alot of players dont know enough about computers to understand what problems can be related to eachother. During server problems, i personally think petitions should not be allowed until after the server problem is solved. Afterwards, if the players problem remains, they can petition it. It would be good for both players and you guys.
I had alot of things in mind when I started writing this, and I think i have forgotten about half of the things i wanted to say. But I think my post is long enough now anyway.

instead of calling it the "band of bloggers" i prefer the pun on the vagina monologues and call it the "Vagina's on a Blog"

Kieren, as a journalist I urge you with all my heart NOT to train that PR skill too high. The road towards PR'dom is a route to destruction. Like Sarmaul said, just tell us why the silence, and let the press have their "exclusive" fun.
Journo's can be a petty minded bunch, and I fully understand necessary relationship between the market and the press - to keep them sweet you have to give them info. It's good for all of us if the game gets press exposure. .... POST WITH YOUR MAIN !!!!11111one

Sovy, the problem with this is that if we told the EVE community everything we had on the slate just before E3, then the information wouldn't have been new.
We spent a *lot* of coin to promote EVE at E3. Why? Not so we could have a cool booth with a bar and party every night, but so we could get more recognition of EVE in the MMOG industry. More recognition means more subscribers, more subscribers means more income, more income means more improvements for EVE china through hardware, hirings and improvements.
We tell the player community what our plans are in the time before E3 and it's already old news. The impact we made at E3 would have been significantly lessened. would have it been so hard to release the news @ E3 and the forums at the same time.. or did you take eve to a place where you didn't have a net connection
The Devs have done a good job implimenting features and improving EVE Yup that new Drone AI works a treat . Yes, there have been some mistakes along the way more mistakes then fixing in my eyes , and we done our best to not only claim responsibility, but keep the community informed of what went wrong So what went wrong when accounts got hacked? . While I won't say that your fears of 'implimentation in the most horrible way possible' are groundless, I would like to ask for some small credit on behalf of the Dev team for doing a good job for the last 3 years.
Added some words you missed out and added some comments dripping with the normal stuff...
I also wanted to edit this post the same way. lol. Any reaction to this tough but in my mind honest quote ? It could use an response ?
And what about the Amarr emperor and the gallente elections ? Please do something about this

A response it not needed actually, since you obviously have made up your mind about ccp's intensions and no reply from them will change your opinion. A reply would just produce another thread from you stating that they are wrong and you are right. Pretty much a waste of time.

You may be right. But this thread was about communications right ? I may not get an answer i want but hey, at least i would get A response.
I'm just hoping that CCP keeps its promise and communicates, but if i look at the past there isn't much hope. I'm also afraid that if the China thing takes of, that they will ignore us even more.
Anyways, I'm not a valued member of this community so i don't deserve a response. I'll try to keep out of this thread, so all the fanbois can prais CCP to high heaven and we go back to acting like there are no problems ok ? Random quotes about CCP from their customers :

Its not about only saying positive things. But when you use your predetermined opinions as facts, its just not constructive at all. Communication is a two-way street where you take in what the other guy has to say. Most of the time, they are not lying to you.
You have as much right to post here as anyone else. I just wish you would listen to what CCP have told us about China. If you think they are lying to us, you should have some facts to back it up with.
I didnt mean to offend you with my post. I just feel for these guys because they seem like good guys. They dont deserve to get bashed every day because people assume the worst all the time.
