what makes you think that
Deco misses next match due to red card, dito for Costinha. Half their decent players have a yellow card and thus have to watch their steps, including their captain and goalie. Then there's Ronaldo, who seemed injured pretty badly.
Im truly ashamed of what Boularhouz did.

Yes they are missing 2 players Deco being the best in the squad but their subs are very strong their manager has much more than a clue and they play as a team should be a good match 50/50 chances imo

Maybe, but i think that's more to blame on England's poor performance so far.

I'm glad everything is peaceful and quite again here in Holland. Stupid football.
Hurray for Portugal!

Portugal couldn't beat England in Euro 2004 at HOME with Rooney off the pitch for most of the game.
Bookies say England 2.15, Draw 3.35 and Portugal 4.1 (over 90 minutes).

Straight red card for the Italian player!
About time someone got sent off, we couldn't have a whole game without a sending off now could we?

I feel so sorry for the Australians now, a complete and crushing injustice.
This World Cup has not been a very good advertisement for the beautiful game, all it's shown is that cheaters can and do win most of the time.
Bastards.

Italy once again STOLE someone elses spot by cheating

Guess they'll never learn - I hope they relegate all the big italian clubs to Serie B and exclude them from european competitions for 10 years or something.
Seek not to bar my way, for I shall win through - no matter the cost! |

cheats.
And the world cup is being ruined now by sepp blater.
He's the one that directs the ref's to act this way... and is quick (as today) to slaughter them for following his directions when it all goes **** up and blows back in the face.
______ Long ago one gorgeous night, we let the stars grow free. We let Zhuge do that once, he came back carrying a traffic cone, a forsale sign and three empty bottles of dutch lager. He also lost his Zimmer Frame... - Imaran

Edited by: Mather Maelstrom on 26/06/2006 16:59:44 OMFG what was that. He could have easily walked around the guy! At that point in the match, bloody ref is a nutter. This victory is stolen! Hear the entire stadion booing. There is no shame, I feel for Australia them.

ROFL. Italy vs Australia was no contest. The whole fotball world knows it for the fact that Italians are true masters of diving and getting penalty kicks. How could Australia miss that is beyond me
On the other hand, if you play with 1 more guy for 45 mins and don't score, you can't complain when you go out on penalty kick. And Totti was cool as ice there.

I never want to hear another Italian complain about the 2002 WC. They should know that the scorn they felt for South Korea four years ago is how the entire world feels about them now (concerning football only, naturally).

Oh and don't forget the current corruption investigation in Italy's domestic league.
They just can't help themselves, whatever level of the game, they just have to cheat somehow!
(he got the red card for violent conduct, a two-footed lunge on the opposition player, let's not start this debate again)

Hum I feel the aura of hate, heh.
Imho you can *****, whine and call us cheaters till hell freezes, that won't change the fact that we got sanctioned with a ridicolous red card and played half of the match in 10.
On the specific matter, would *I* have sanctioned this penalty? No.
But if you look at how the referee ran the whole match (he sanctioned fouls even when some random fan farted on the tribunes), you should see from where this penalty comes from. To make it shorter: the referee sanctioned everything even remotely resembling a foul (on both sides) and this episode felt right into his 'sanctionable' cathegory.
And yes, it could have happened in Australia's favour as well. Thank god there have been no tackles near our goalkeeper.
Should Australia have won the match? If this were Boxe, yes. But it's football.
Such is life, wanna cry more? Be my guest.
P.S. How long till the accusations of fascism and connivence with international criminal organizations to win the cup or whatever else? - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
