Originally by: Alejandro Zapata Before we start saying the US sucks, or only sucks at futbol, lets remember that the US is ranked 5th in the world, and lost to the 2nd ranked team in the world. Czech Republic is damn good.
Those rankings are bollox, we all know US is cute, but have no place in elite world fotball yet. Maybe in 10 years or so, if they have enough players playing in major european leagues.
In a world that for the most part dislikes the United STates, and its relative dominance in sporting, you think that a 5 ranking is 'bollox'? Please present proof that the rankings are 'bollox'. I present published facts, and you produce opinion. I think you can do better.
England may make it out of their pool, but not because they are worth a damn at the sport they invented.
Seriously, is there a tougher pool than the American pool?
I don't have a problem with the US football team, I expect great games from them. But what is this proclaimed dominance in sports about? It must be some local customs like baseball and such then, americans certainly don't dominate any sport I enjoy.
The US have a tought group though and probably won't go further.

1. I think brazil will win, but i say this with a grain of salt as their performance against croatia was less than impressive. They do have the raw talent to win the cup hands down, but they really need to pick up the pace for their future games especially in the knockout round.
2. I want the US to win but sadly we sure got ***** slapped by the czecks. Heh some of the news headlines read "Reality Czeck for the US" Our game against Italy will be tough cause if they score a goal on you, the best you can hope for is a draw really. But hey maybe we'll beat Italy (i can dream can't i?) Beat ghana, and have the czecks beat Italy. Then we make it!!

I think England have a really good chance of winning the world cup, but I also think Brazil and Argentina have a good chance. Italy, Czech Republic, and Spain are also looking very good.
Hopefully it will be England that wins though its about time football came home Jack Cromwell Azure Horizon |

1. I think the Czechs, Argentinia, Spain or Brasil will win the world cup. Perhaps even Germany as they play at home. Lots of people say England but I donŠt understand how, because of Beckham?
2. Some team from Africa

If USA continue their deathmatch strategy of fouling the opponents best player into oblivion they are gonna run out of players. ---

And the first two teams are through ... Ecuador need a draw against Germany to top the group. Since they won't know which team is going to top Group B when they play, Germany won't know whether to lose or not . ________________________________________________

Tbh. if England play like they did against Paraguay, it will not matter who they play in the 2nd round, they will get beat. Neither germany or Equador will fear them unless they play a lot better. Rooney will make a difference to you, but if the midfield do not create then he has no service. -----------------------------------------------

True.
That said: take a look back at the opening matches of each World Cup-winning team for the last six, seven, maybe eight tournaments. Every single one of them, without exception, stunk. They either won ugly, or didn't win at all.
Such a crappy start bodes well for us ________________________________________________

England are playing crap and are still winning. You cant do any other than put your money on a team with a performance like that. Remember Germany from previous tournaments?
The Interesting thing is now that if Ecuador draw with germany, Germany end up second in their group and England could end up playing Germany in the next phase.

Peter Crouch is 6'7 as far as Im aware.
A player came on for another team who was 6'9 the other day... but actually built more like a rugby player. he was surprisngly good on the floor and bad in the air! ___________________________________
