Edited by: Zrakor on 25/09/2003 18:55:27 Just so you know, all of the implant missions were never meant to be available for a single agent. This sadly was the case until recently, we fixed the missions so they are given to certain factions. I.e. Caldari get certain implant missions, Minmatar others, etc. This will mean you will either have to obtain more agents to supply yourself with more types of implants, or trade to get the implant you need.
There are also a plethora of implants in the system that aren't available yet, which don't all just affect attributes. They will slowly creep into the game, don't worry :).

This is good news, even if implants will be harder to get.
But, I have been wondering about one thing. How do I get an agent from another faction?
Being a trader I have docked at ALOT of stations. And never been offered a new agent. And I only have negative faction with the Gallenteans (dunno why but well..) And my current agents only refer new agents from the same corp.
So how get an agent from the other races ??

I am with an Amarr Faction. So Far I Have Gotten: Charisma, Preception, and Willpower Implants.
So i guess amarr agents don't give Intellegence and Memory implants.

hmm, doing these mind numbing mission with my agent lvl 2 for getting a lvl 3 and then i need to do some more missions to get implants : feasible with a good book
repeating these hunderds of mission for each race again : dont think so.

seeing as how the amarr race has such unusually small cranium size on average, they probably deem implants for those a waste of time for an amarrian

So which factions have drawn the short straw of only getting the charisma implant!!!
You could have waited a while to let the current gold rush finish before this lastest change.

I think the new design is superior (especially if no one race gets stuck with the charisma module). It encourages trading, interregional price differences, etc.
The problem is really when things change too quickly, people that were working towards something and then feel ripped off (all the people that didn't get past level 2 ag3ents waste a lot of time). In my opininon you should've saved the new structure for the advanced implants and left the current ones as is.
Anyways, it's a step in the right direction in some way so I won't complain too much.

Gallenteens get the charisma implant, HAHAHA! Seriously, wish they made the game less mem/int intensive. Every attrb should be just as valuable in its own way :/ ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

Edited by: Erty on 25/09/2003 20:48:58 Bleh. I've worked for a week to get a lvl3 agent, and now I finally have one. Got her today. You don't get much money for selling implants anymore, and of top of that you can't get all implant anymore either :/
Well well, a week for nothing. I assume that as caldari most likely will give out perception and willpower implants, and I don't need those as I have 17 willpower (without implant) and 19 perception (with implant). I need intelligence. And memory.
:/ A week isn't very much though. I can only blame myself, I was too late.
Maybe you should've waited until most people had the implants they wanted, would be more fair that way. But it doesn't matter that much.
Is this fix already in on tranq or is that only or chaos? Or is it something you can change without a client side patch?

Edited by: Nirvy on 25/09/2003 20:59:33 Well i guess this will make implants more valuable in the areas that cant get them via agents.
But surely we should have had some warning you were changing the game mechanics? Instead of just changing it then telling us Mercenary | The Azath |

I would not be too discouraged about the change. It is not like you have lost your agent, or the standings with the agent. Right now if you donĘt get the reward you are looking for personally, I am sure someone else might want what you have and have something you want (trade the implants you can get to get others).
Also, implants seem to be the first large gifts for efforts in working for an agent. I would suspect in time there would be more to come, perhaps other items or even blueprints.
Standing back a bit and with positive thinking, this looks like other aspects of the game are being fleshed out. So, while changes may be constantly occurring, I am extremely grateful to see other parts of the game being developed.

Has anyone gotten an implant mission since this post was made and can confirm the implant and faction type?
Since this post was made I've only been offered 30-jump round trip cargo runs. Lots of fun.

Implant missions seems less frequent. But my Caldari agent just gave a nice memory implant. I like her again. Somewhat.

Oh great, so now after spending all that time on getting a level 3 and getting him to give me implant missions chances are I am going to have to start off from scratch again, docking at stations in Caldari space, getting a level 1 and training all the way back up again, hmmm that what, minimum of about 100 mission to get another level 3 again and even then the missions are rarer.
Ya just couldn't have waited a few days till I got my memory implant could ya.
Wouldn't mind so much but agent runs are so bloody boring and implants apart are a very poor way of earning money.

Oh and Veruna, to answer your question, prior to today I was getting implants probably on average every 8-10 missions I'd say (agent was +19% with an 8% social bonus). Today I ran maybe 16 I think, with no implant missions at all, so I'd say that the implant mission rate has at least halved, probably more.

Yah, I just managed to acquire a MEM under the wire before this went in.
I'm not sure why all you people who were complaining about prices and commodity cornering before are "for" this change - it's going to increase the scarcity of implants and drive the prices of both implants and commodities up even more.

Edited by: Relic on 25/09/2003 22:30:41 Zrakor posted the following
Quote: The problem with the implant missions were they were being dished out too often. They have been tuned down. They are supposed to be fairly rare, but not neccessarily difficult, this mission is given as a "token of gratitude" for your services to the corporation and its allies.
Also note that these are only the basic attribute implants. We never intended them to be super rare or really hard to get, but still fairly rare so newbies can't just buy it off the market for nothing.
The problem with trade missions in general though, which have to deal with items sold on the market, is that people can manipulate the market. It's not really an exploit. But we did add in a mission that drops superconductors (we only did this for super conductors since they seem to be the most complained about, since they are the most rare commodity).
Note however that we also took out the requirement for the mission being given that was "objective must be for sale in the same region". This will mean you can recieve these missions even though there is no market supply for the objective, but hey you can decline them and they will be given to you later. It's also by design that the trade missions are fragile, otherwise we might as well drop the concept and just use courrier missions instead :).
Also note: the commodities such as super conductors arent gone forever, there is a steady supply of them, you just have to look hard enough to find npcs selling them. We are also working on making the npc commodity market a bit more stable.

Edited by: Bashar on 25/09/2003 22:25:48 so far today my amarr agent has given one charisma, and my friends caldari has given 2 memory. Not sure what caldari's lowest base stat is, but amarr definatly are low charisma, so it appears possible that agents carry the type of implant that their race has the lowest base stat in...unfortunate that I should get my first implant mission on the same day the fix it so that i get the one implant type i dont want/need :(
