So THIS is what Khali meant by Factional Warfare? Us vs. China Cluster? I'm actually kinda curious as to what the most popular Asian bloodline is over there so far? --------------------

I really can't see CCP taking much care or at the very least drop our server to 2nd place.

They'll need multiple live servers if they want any success in china. 200k signed up for BETA. Possibly millions will play.

Wow thats quite something, grats to CCP for a successful launch. Don't forget us please.
Any chance of the TQ massive being let loose on the china server with existing characters? Just for a day? Let the huge new n00b blob know what to expect?
Didn't think so

You know what ? Now that you make me think about it, I have this weird feeling of us being their real beta testers with all the past 64 bit patches

Does that mean that Tranquility will be flooded with cheap Chinesse Ore?.. Will the great Corps leave for the better labor rates?... I can see the first EVE-MART coming to a system near you.

\o/ for another post full of idiotic remarks... people claiming they know it all while in fact displaying no clue whatsoever about the topic at hand...
The China server is a great thing for CCP and certainly a sign that we will enjoy EvE for many years to come...
As for those with too few brain cells to realise this, let me suggest that what ever the numbers of registered players China will always have higher records of logged on at same time... WHY ? think TIME ZONE... and the fact the Chinese government limits the numbers of hours that can be played online per day to 3-4 hrs I believe...
Long Live EvE China, the stronger it becomes the more EvE World will benefit !

Oh and income wise before you all get scared that EvE China is going to pawn us in size.... I think you ought to reflect on the average wage in China and student disposable cash...
I'm not sure the pricing policy will necessarily be the same as for us... which is a good thing for the Chinese player base

Follow the news on China
And no, this does not mean we will forget about the European server, more money means more devs means more features etc.

So much for the one server concept. They should let people in Austriala use those servers since they are closer. So much for talking them into a revolt!!!

I doubt the Australians would accept a limited daily playtime of 4 hours or so just for better(?) response time.

Edited by: Voltaire Leriel on 13/06/2006 21:02:48 Congratulations CCP!
One thing everyone should remember is that the gameÆs content was changed significantly to fit the governmentÆs strict standards. So its not even the same game. Imagine what EVE would be like without the political and religious contentà it just wouldnÆt be as interesting by a long shot. Of course, it seems they simply replaced that content with other stuff, but IÆm not sure what. In any case, TQ is a better game in the end, we have all the juicy storyline.
As for violating the 1-server scheme, it was totally necessary. As much as the Asian players WTFPWN people in PvE games like WoW, I canÆt imagine what theyÆd do to us in a PvP centric game like EVE. In those PvE games, they kill all the biggest bosses before everyone else they have more and better loot, ect. WeÆd get crushedà not to mention there are just plain more of them.
IÆm wondering how much of the money generated by EVE-China will go to CCP for further development.
That could mean soonÖ could become a-lot-soonerÖ
PS: the response time would not be better; I hear that ChinaÆs firewalls create a lot of lag because theyÆre trying to block all kinds of things. Besides, there are probably more backbones between Australian and the US/EU than there are between China and Australia. Hard to say though.

Also might be worth mentioning that as CCP gets more money and more staff, they might take on more projects, meaning as far as staff/money/time goes, ratio wise, they might be about the same. If they have the ability to churn out more content, faster, that means they can churn out more bugs, faster.
