Not blaming the devs or CCP, but I currently have 2 chars not training. This is not my fault, I have no control over the server. Had there been a skill queue, even for one additional skill, my problem would be solved. Skill queue in situations like this is a great idea.

I have to agree.
I dont like the idea of setting up big skill queues. But it would be nice to be able to queue at least 1 skill for when stuff like this happens.

I think one of the dev blogs mentioned it is something they would like to add, but it's a low priority.
As for "over a week" with situations like this - wait til battleship lvl 5 ;)
A week will seem like a short, short space of time hehe.

LOL
Skill queue is coming. And missing a couple of hours of skill training is not really going to make that much of a difference.

How about when you train a skill, once it's finished it continues training until level 5? --

Problem is newbies who only have 20 minute-2 hour skills. So a skill queue with a max of 24 hours would be good for newbies who join right before a downtime, or so newbies can train something useful overnight (as a newbie most of overnight wasnt being used for the first few days)

perhaps, but when some stupidity like VoIP gets priority over something that the majority of suscribers want to some extent or another, then we have to question the priorities of the devs.

Cant more than agree, often i do smaller skills when im online and ofcus thoose pesky lvl5s when im not around, like this event is nothing ccp or the players can do anything about so an que with the lvl5 skill could kick in would be nice.
They say the server will get back 17:30, eg 00:30 my local time so instead sitting here waiting i could likewise said, good the lvl5 skill is kicking in - and i can hit the town and get me some beers.. without sitting here today a saturday waiting for the servers to come online.

Quote: The ideas listed here have not gotten a development slot, the state where you have an assigned game designer, programmer, artist or content developer which has assigned time for pre-production.
so really, having it on the drawing board is meaningless, especially when stuff that no-one wants or has asked for is given resources.

it's three years of CCP not listening to what their subscribers want, despite continual reminders that something like this is needed every time this happens.

A character that is not training is not the end of the world.
I used to go nuts if I lost training time, then one day my mom hid my internet cable for some reason, at the time my main was just finishing his training so I broke down her bedroom door in anger looking for the cable, which I didn't find anyway.
After that I stopped training for a couple of weeks on purpose, just to get a grip on myself, now I don't care as much about my training, it's just another feature of the game.
Ask yourself if you would do the same in this situation and if so then it's about time for you to take a break from training.
I can only speak from one point of view, my own. |

Unfortunately, every aspect of the game, from changes to drones or missiles, jet cans to skills is going to have some % who will post "this is not very important...get over it". Although I appreciate this, the forums would be dead bare if people were only allowed to post topics that were popular across the board.
That said, it is very possible that some of us have a limited time to play or access a PC with the game installed. What if the time the game was down was the only time I had to change a skill for some extended period of time? It is for this reason (not 20 minutes or an hour here and there) that I think a skill queue is a good idea.
I am glad to see that something is in the works, thanks to those that posted the link. I guess the dead and pureed horse is more of a phoenix than a horse.

if u are still here and paying after 3 years then they must be doing something right.
otherwise why are you still here?
this sort of "ccp cant do anything right" bollox always annoys me, if u dont like the game then dont let the door hit u on the a$$.

I have recently started building up an alt and yes, it's bloody annoying having to log in every 20 minutes to set a new skill for training. Clearly, this isn't an issue for the old-timers as they only have 1+ day skills left, but for a new player this is a nightmare.
Oh and introduce /autoloot, even DAoC was able to do that (each jetcan that belongs to you / your corp will be automatically looted once you reach the <1500 zone. Contraband won't be looted)

Sooo.... because a few will use this to "play" the game in a way that is unpopular, the rest of us have to suffer? How much good do you think that Carrier 5 (vs. Carrier 1 or 2)will do the player who hasn't used his carrier at all in that time?
