I hate to tell you guys that I suggested this in the Features and Ideas Discussion forum a while back (4-5 months) and I am pretty certain it was suggested by others way before I did. Nobody from CCP (dev or even a moderator) made a single response to the post. Nothing.
Its a brilliant idea. Everyone thinks its a brilliant idea. It will help everyone. Even the "Dont change anything cuz eve is fine" guys seem to like it. Yet we hear nothing.
Sorry if I sound dissolusioned ... but I am.

Too bad for me. Because I'm not going to let this issue drop. It it as total mistake that this hasn't been incorporated into the game yet. ------------------

And not only big flashing icons or bars, but also loud whoops and beeps if you want them, to get that adrenalin flowing when you're scrammed, taking damage, getting jammed etc. Play a modern jet flight sim if you want an impression of how EW should sound

Ok,havn't look at all the posts but here is a good way to tell if you are scrambled.
Look at your ship pretty close. Look for a blue pulsating beam (hehe contradiction FTW), which goes through your ship. That beam will point at the rat scrambling you.. problem solved

If you have turret effects and effects turn off there is no way to know that you are being scramed as the mesages that "warn" you are gone before you can say "free Ibis" from all the combat notifications. At least when you are webbed with effects turned off you can see that your speed is now 30 m/sec as opposed to the 125m/sec that you were flying previously. ------------------

while i agree FULLY with all the above, i think something else needs to be implemented as well.
when you are flying about, ganking noobs or in a fleet op and an enemy warps in, your ship should automatically scan the enemy. if the presence of ECM (of any kind) are detected the ship should turn its autopilot on and warp you out of grid, all by itself.

a small idea to go with this would be to put in a series of small unlit buttons next to your other buttons, when your targeted by a certain effect(EW) the button lights up, more importantly, you can now click the button to target the EW ship, and each click on it cycles through all ships putting that effect on you. you still have to lock as normal, but this way you would be able to: know what you where being targeted with(symbol/word on each button). and you have a means to auto target and cycle them, to know just how many there are.

/signed, lost 50mil setup like this to pirates jumping into the system... Was frigging scrambled by a NPC frigate... Never knew they did this untill I found out the hard way.
Just turn the speedometer red when scrambled imo. ----------------------------------------------- The BIG Lottery |

Actually there is an effect, it's a load of blue circles flying from the scrambling ship towards you.
It's damn hard to spot even when you know what you are looking for though.

Several of these ideas don't tell you which frigate is scrambling you though.
For example if 3 loyal scavangers are attacking me and my readout is showing that i am being scrambled by 1...then which one?
Showing it on the overview/ship in space is an excellent idea though - a little icon on the box where pirates get the skull could show a red no entry sign or something.

CCP were saying they would put some kind of status bar in soon after RMR - we got the horizontal bars but where's the rest of it?
Here's another idea - how about another column in the overview with icons saying what the ship is doing at you?

Exactly, they have already implimented a "warning" function for ECM jamming and tracking disrupters/sensor damps. This is almost no different. ------------------

id love to see a Debuff window like EQ and WoW have.
and just use the icon of the module with a little number overlay for how many you have on you. if scrambled you would get the warp scram icon and a number showing how many points. maybe even allow you to mouse over the icon and see who or what is scramming you so you know who to shoot first.

I would still prefer to see it in the overview. For example if in a level 4 mission I know that it's one of the Angel Vipers and or Webifiers that's scramming me without needing any notification at all. Knowing which one though, that's the killer!

Allow me to draw your attention to a VERY very old thread(1 year+ old ) I started a long time ago. Its more or less exactly about what you want and has been ignored by the Devs so far.
I d be very happy to see you support this thread/idea ;)

Please also bump the old thread ;) It has lots of great suggestions, e.g. turning the speed bar from blue to red and also proves that there were (are?) so many more people interested in a warp scram indicator.

This idea is highly necessary. I would really like to see something to do with HUD notifications implemented.

That would be indeed very useful UI addition. Perhaps separate tab in overwiev where you can see little module icons activated against you. Thats should not be that hard to implement as that data is anyway transferred from server to client (I imagine, not 100 % sure of cource).

Easily dealt with as well move the effect box from above the hud to the middle of the screen.
Originally by: Market Scanner Maybe CCP needs to remove all 3D models of NPC's and replace them with white 2D squares with the NPC's name typed in the square. I miss pong.

There's an effect box above the hud?
