How about... CCP end the lottery joke, introduce T2 BPO's to the market, and enable the raw capitalistic EVE economy to work as it should. Prices will stabalise at a point where T2 material and component manufacturers make a profit, ship builders make a profit, resellers make a profit and the end consumer get a product whos price is dictated by *true* supply and demand economics, not the current comedy system we have.
So clearly, CCP should screw up the whole in-game economy because you want a cheap ship?

No, but the guys who got them shouldn't have them forever, with no one else having the chance to get them, ever.

I see. Didn't know this game was based on a communism principle.
Let's all gather around the circle and whine about a handful of items coz we are too incompetant to achieve anything. Come on, everyone gather around...

Stupid question: How much better IS a HAC compared to a Battleship? Is there a reason people decide to fly HACs and not Battleships?

Where do you think your production components come from? You setup your own moons for the POS to mine the raw materials? Fine!
A few more BPO for a couple of items would be really nice though. --*=*=*--

I think this development is good, because maybe it will force ccp to realize something is wrong when the good ships can be gotten only if you are in a alliance.
Personally i think that actually IS something people would quit the game over.

Has anyone considered that maybe CCP intended for HACs and other tech II items to be only available to alliances?
It makes no sense otherwise. Limiting the number of BPOs means that they will eventualy gravitate towards the people with most ISK. That is, large alliances. Not to mention, the requisite materials for building them are only found in 0.0 space. People in high sec would have to pay insane prices for the materials, or not be able to produce the ships, which means they have no use for the BPOs, leading them to sell them once they realise that's the only way to make a profit. And once they reach allied people, it's easy to see that the alliance will look after its members first, and screw anyone else. They already shoot them when they venture into their territory, why would they let them have tech II ships?
If CCP had wanted the ships to be available to everyone, I'm sure they would have come up with a system that allowed it. What has happened is obvious enough that anyone working on game design should have been able to see it coming the second they came up with the idea. The system they implemented can only be rationaliced by coming to terms with the fact that CCP wants players to go to 0.0 and join alliances, and shoot each other up.
The alternative is that the people that make desicions in CCP have no idea about the game they're designing, and the way players interact in it, years after launch. Come to terms with it, understand you won't get a HAC for grinding missions, move on. Simple really.

Imagine that there was only one operating system in the whole world suporting the wery thing you worked with, it was incredibly expensive, but you had to get it, becous there was not anotherone that did the things you needed to be done
would you accept that?

A HAC is good at taking and dishing damage , Just think caracal on steroids. And yes we still fly battleships, You have to consider ship type for current role being done, you dont take a badger into a complex to kill the ships in their you have to take the correct ship and for some complexes its better to have an assult ship or a HAC as they meet the gate requirements for size.

You have to have the most consistant whine of all the tech II lottery haters..
Lotterys ensure people cant farm prints.
The Dev's have decided that there will be a limited amount of bpos for luxury items seeded.
stop confusing the two issues, stop trying to apply RL economic models to a closed loop system where theres an artificial INTENDED limit of supply, and just play the game the way it was designed ffs.

Maybe at one point, but not any longer. There's a dev quote that goes something like "in Kali, maybe it's time tech 2 was the new baseline".

It's not so much about how good they are, most of the time a BS or BC can do what the hac can and often even better BUT they have one major weakness, they are very slow and cumbersome.
From a tactical standpoint this can be overcome but flying a faster more agile ship is always going to be more fun. This is why you see the prices for vagabonds skyrocketing, not because it's uber but because it's probably the most fun ship to fly in this game. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think the system requires a reseed of more BPO's as it is stated that there just isn't enough.
Secondly since the first tech 2 BPO's came out there have been 1000's of new players to the game who have stuck around. They should get a chance at one of these BPO's. The whole i been here longer and always be better of syndrome of eve is kinda a wall for new people who can effectivly never compete.

Originally by: Indomitus Rex Like Eralus said, the EVE market is nowhere close to a RL market.
In RL, when some company is making a killing off a product other people decide, "Hey, let's make a killing too!" and tons of other producers come into the equation. This in turn forces the original companies producing to either A) Make improvements or B) Sell it cheaper.
What you posted is nowhere close to most real RL markets. There are virtually no markets in rl where any company can start competing without a cost. If this was true, theoretically, companies would continue joining the market untill the profit was 0.
The HAC market is most like a oligopoly i think. You have a small amount of producers, but they have a lot of power. The question (for me at least) is not if it's working like in 'real life', but if you want randomly picked people to have a lot of power over other people in a game.

Look at invention, coming next patch...
I think it means that you can "take apart" a T2 item with the hopes of getting a limited run bpc out of it...
Thus you have people right now with 1-3 million points in starship engineering.
Suppose that the "datacore" for invention costs 250 000 RP to buy.
That means that those people need to stockpile 4-12 HAC each.
Now if there are say 1000 people with starship engineering points and each needs 4-12 HAC, then there is a lag demand of 4000 to 12000 HAC just for taking them apart!
Of course, many people will use the data cores to rebuild other t2 ships, but right now the HAC looks like the best bet.
Even if the BPC was a limited three run HAC at -10 ME, it would still be worth a few hundred million ISK.
Also, assuming that the invention "works" then you will have a NEW DEMAND for all T2 ships, as people will need to buy new datacores and new T2 ships each month just to rip them apart and make BPCs out of them...
Will this increase supply... MAYBE
Why just maybe?
Well, if the game adds 10 000 HAC, then 10,100 get blow up in giant HAC battles, then the HAC problem is still there and they cost exactly the same!
So that is my take on it. |

A huge proportion of the player base hate Empire huggers. We should ban Empire.
A huge proportion of the player base hate mission runners. We should remove missions.

Its so funny that most of the whiners dont have any T2 BPO.
T2 building isnt cheap and if you use POS to supply yourself, then there is very much efford and time spent in that. Dont assume building T2 ships is just sitting in a station, clicking some buttons and taadaaa.... ship is build.
