And by cloudy, I mean there are new nebulae. But that's not why I think that this forum is going to be filled with tears tomorrow after the dust settles and the emergency patches and shutdowns are over. Nay, there is another reason: Interbus taxes.
See, CCP changed a few things around. A number here, a number there. And now instead of using some strange fantasy number as the basis for a "10%" (actually I think it's 17% now) tax, CCP is using the actual market values. And the new tax values ain't pretty, at least if you're a fan of buying the materials in highsec, processing them, and reselling them, which a bunch of people are. Or, should I say, were. The tax level on P2s is well over 150 times more than it previously was before Crucible's release.
And that is why tomorrow, when people find out that they're suddenly going to be paying a crud-ton of money more than they used to be for PI, and their favorite lowsec production planets no longer have any Interbus customs office at all (after it gets blown up), and basically a money source that was a great, easy way to pay for a PLEX each month no longer exists...they're going to be furious.
Calling it now.

After I read about the changes and figured out how it would affect the small-time low-sec harvester, I pretty much gave up on PI. CCP just ruined a means for the small guy to make money (I also noted, ironically, that they want the small guy in null-sec.)
I'd say "Go **** yourself, CCP", but that's not productive and ranting. Leaves only the fresh scent of pine. |

I like the title of this thread and was up until now a regular PI player. From day one really-- even trained my PI skills to a quite decent level. I'm not going to rage, but from reading the dev blog it seems like we have no option but to build our customs offices which can't really be defended by turrets or anything should they be attacked. I'm thinking that if one has 5 low sec planets and in the event that all 5 of their respective customs offices are attacked then said player is basically screwed if he/she isn't part of a large enough corp.
Personally I think that's a cool idea for null and WH, but not such a great one for low sec. I have this opinion mainly because if there's going to be security at the gates and at the stations then it seems logical the customs offices should have it as well, otherwise ( as others have argued ) you might as well remove low sec from the game all together by removing the guns from gates and stations.
I like PI-- even back when it was a clickfest, but I don't like it enough to stand watch over multiple customs offices which are easy targets for any one who wants to shoot something. It seems like it's enough to be at risk just moving your goods from the planet to station. Anyway, just my two cents. I'd like to hear the thoughts, rants, and ranges of other players who have been involved in low sec PI. |

Predicting in a years time eve will be nothing but rmt nullbears and a handful of rookies they sell to. I was initially hoping this expansion was going to take eve off it's death spiral not accelerate it. If summer follows the same patterns of gameplay development well... I guess sometimes things have to fall apart to make room for better things. |

Don't be so pessimistic. At summer dust will come (or if not than next winter) and I'm sure it will bring a full nullsec sov warfare overhaul too. Also there are so many potential and possibilitys in WIS too what we can't see right now. Planetary colonization is also barely touched. If they make the colony management deeper and more complex it can be a good hook for strategy and manager simulator fans. EVE will survive as long as CCP takes care of the game. If not by the bittervets than by the new generations. |

Predict that all predictions of doom and gloom will not be nearly as bad as expected and that most people in lowsec will not really feel like grinding through gantry EHP, or if they do, will get regularly dropped on by people who find shooting players more fun than shooting stationary objects.

You dont have to use the Customs Office to get stuff of a planet. Or shocking idea, buy your own Customs Office and charge yourself 0% Tax on export/imports.
For the cheapest ones, Talk to some FW guys I know some people that have been farming LPs so they can get them onto market.
If you're some solo/small corp that can't protect an Office then ur... Welcome to Eve.... |

Tested it on Sisi,
2 Dreads took 3 Cycles to eat away the EHP. 1 of which was not up their with skills(L3). So If you drop 10 Dreads and support it will take 1 cycle per office. |

- That seems reasonable to me. Its much more EHP than a bored pirate in a cyclone will ever manage to chew through in an afternoon. So pirate corps will be able to extort lone players. But, lone players can't extort other lone players.

Yeah, I did it with 1 dread in seige mode and it didn't even take 30minutes on Sisi. I'm actually thinking about setting up a customs office somewhere with lowish tax and see how long it lasts for.
And another note I have some advanced PI commodities for sale on the market. The market price is getting very close to the high price I put on mine. I really am wondering how high the price will go. |

Hopefully, we might even see some conflict over the PI hub -- turning it from a useless and passive ninja-carebear activity into something worth defending.
Worth defending, if the prices go high enough.

This is going to be ace. the destroy everything crowd will destroy every customs office they see and then moan that there are no customs offices in lowsec. They wont do PI themselves as they are not there for carebear stuff.
alternatively the destroy everything crowd will destroy customs offices until they get bored of doing that and then will not bother with them unless they have a fruitless night on a gatecamp and will destroy one just to show something at the end of the night.
If i was more interested in this game i would speculate on the market more as this was obviously coming Something Awful. A beacon for tearful, lonely neckbeards. |

Well actually I don't really care, I've neer expected or wanted 2 gazillions of alts for PI and buy plex and play for free.
I do it smoothly, will those taxes be higher? -probably, the fact is that taxes are repported on final price so very simple, PI will be worthy for once I hope. If it doesn't well I'll just stop it and do something else until it's improved.
Tears? sure, I can't wait to read about those. |

they are the devs. Also the CSM. also a huge blue stained alliance. In essence they are EvE. So nice try but thats like telling a self-employed worker not to go on the sick in case they get fired.
Also in other tinfoil that OP looks very much like a copy paste, as though this information was old news to someone who had (with much glee) already produced an OP like the OP to drop like the OP did in the OP.
