Edited by: Jiekon on 07/09/2006 10:44:27 I have spoken with the content team regarding the volume required to be moved in the new level 4 courier missions. alot of them are currently around 1m3 and will remain so untill around Kali 2 when it will get fixed.

Ask them about C O S M O S agents that give out 1 RUN BPC (frig, cruiser, bs) if you have 9,8+ to the faction and WHY they've been DISABLED, otherwise i'm afraid that it will get ugly !! And i hope iceland police has riot gear !!

My guess is farming. Have you seen the prices of the Fleet Tempest lately? I'm more interested to know what happened to the other 4/5th of Gallente COSMOS and why they're off working on 0.0 COSMOS before finishing that (not that it won't be cool to have 0.0 COSMOS).

Obviously not. Farming those things is VERY unreasonable considering the sheer amount of missions needed for that standing and that you can only use the agent once. The Reason for the price of Fleet Tempests dropping like a brick is most likely that:
a) they suck (at least for PvE which is the main usage of Faction ships) b) The Maelstrom is proposed as an 8/6/6 ship too, making the Fleet Tempest utterly superfluous
If those agents were farmed, I guess we would also have seen the CNR price dropping, and that has never happened, and with the removal of both the COSMOS BPCs and most of the normal CNR offers, the damn things have become 50% more expensive. --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! Basically the 'fix' will involve simply adding in more heavy-load courier missions, we don't have any problem with people getting the low volume ones every now and then.

Thanks for that update.
However perhaps you could have them take a look at the L4 Manufacturing agent at Hilaban (Tash-Murkon) (I can't remember the name - I just call him 'The Git' ). Although the m3 is low it's either 600m3 or 2000m3. Still low for L4 but perhaps it might be worth finding out how and/or if those missions can be migrated onto other L4 agents.
The rewards from this agent aren't what they used to be but they are tolerable.
Of course I don't know how agents work so perhaps there is good reason for this agent bucking the trend so apologies if this is a silly suggestion -- (Battle hardened miner)

A corp can start an alt and raise its standings by blasting through tens of missions per hour, the alt just has to give them a copy of the bookmark and turn the mission in when they're done. He can run any number of agents simultaneously and have the whole corp fleet do them for him. Once up to about 7-8, the rest can be completed by doing every COSMOS mission, every one of which counts as an important mission and gives good standing increases to faction. Since there are a buttload of minmatar and caldari agents, it's feasible to farm those two.
In fact, if each mission gives an average of 6% increase, which mine have been, you should be able to do it from about 7.0. And last I checked, I was getting 6% for level 3 missions. Gallente cosmos, of course, doesn't have any real level 4 agents. Minmatar and caldari do. It's entirely feasible to blast a player's standing up to 6 or 7 and then do all the caldari cosmos missions and get the nice rewards AND the standings to get the bpc. Hence, the BPCs and COSMOS are both farmable given the right effort.

Now my turn to whine ... (well, more of a rhetorical question)
Why were lots of courier missions implemented half-way instead of doing fewer but done properly? Saves you working on something you know is broken and will have to fix a few months down the road (Kali 2? ).
Edit: Oh maybe you'd want to sticky this so others can read it.

The disabled high-standing COSMOS agents have been re-enabled. I honestly have no idea why they were disabled, probably some mass-update gone wrong. This change probably won't take effect until after the next downtime though.

Love for mission runner? Omg, impossible! Thank you very much Zrakor.
As for COSMOS farming, yes there is COSMOS farming, but afaik only at a much lower level, requiring standings of 8 or lower. Getting to 9.9 even with Cosmos missions will take so damn long that it definitely is not worth the farming effort. Even less so if the reward is split between multiple people. And if someone really DOES put in that kind of effort to get these offers with an alt, I don't think it can be called farming anymore. --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! The other devs are busy doing their jobs, fixing broken things and making new things. I`m sure you and i would rather they were doing that than answering forums posts every 5 minutes.

Oh my god! I'm waiting all day long for an answer to my thread in the general discussions where Jiekon posted yesterday....and didn't think about looking in the missions division...
I will wait to express my excitement till tomorrow...
As for the "fixing" of the volume courier missions... Could you maybe explain how hard it is and how long it takes to code such a mission? Cause if its just a matter of an hour...um...how about making us happy campers by adding say a mission per week...this way we might see some diversity already when Kali 2 comes around...sometime...next year
Oh pretty pretty pwease I promise I will stop *****ing (much)

Hm...another question concerning the missions...
When are the offers going to be fixed? All the decent high-end offers have been disabled it seems and all I get are 800k and 900k implant offers (and I have over 1.5 million LP)...
Can we expect a "fix" there with Kali 2 as well or will you safe us earlier?

I think you'd need to give the agent name. I keep getting 10 and 20mil implant offers. I just wish the damn things would sell on market but that's another matter

the market is floded by implant in the last time. when i was new in the game, i payd 30-40M for a +3 implant . i am getting about 14-21M for one now. CCP apparently wants to drive their price down by oversupply on the market. But i doubt this will be enough to push people into low sec. |
