LP Farming Charts (lvl4 only)
Hello fellow mission runners.
IÆm quite new to running missions compared with most of you and something IÆve noticed a lot of you including myself try to do is LP farm. Forget looting up just fit with as much ægankÆ as you dare and run missions as fast as possible for max rewards.
With this in mind and to help show the fastest ships, tactics and weapons to use (and maybe dispel old arguments on which weapon systems are faster) I thought we could all time missions. IÆm going to time missions from the moment I agro first npc to moment the mission icon flashes complete.
If you just reply to this thread with the following info IÆll then update a spreadsheet or similar to show which give the most lp for your time and what to run them with.
time taken: mission: ship used: weapon type: LP farmed:

Edited by: Ropper on 09/09/2006 09:28:18 time taken: 45 minutes mission: Angel Extravaganza ship used: Sleipnir weapon type: 720 II artillery LP farmed: 10k notes: i keep improving my time on this mission. I started at 70 minutes. I use quake in my guns thru the entire mission
time taken: 40 minutes mission: Mordus headhunters encounter version ship used: Astarte weapon type: 250 II railgun LP farmed: 10k notes: Again i keep improving this mission, started at 60 minutes. Dont be foolish and keep drones in till ur sure u can handle it tank-wise.
time taken: 5 minutes mission: infested Ruins ship used: vagabond weapon type: 220 II ac LP farmed: 5k notes: just run for the mission objective, destroy it and warp out. Done
time taken: 15 minutes mission: Infiltrated Outposts ship used: Astarte weapon type: 250mm rail II LP farmed: 10k notes: rip the drones and bunkers while moving at gate in first area. Use drones on the smaller drones and keep the guns blazing.
time taken: 15 minutes mission: Unauthorized Military presence ship used: Machariel weapon type: dual 650s II autocannons LP farmed: 7k notes: just move at first group in second area. the mission objective group will engage and once u release drones the left group will engage them. scoop and make sure u kill them fast enough :)
Edit: PS i do the big longer missions, cos if u keep this up for a while u can make 100mil quite fast in rewards and bounties, which can not be neglected.

If I was mean, I would say that after getting enough isk to get a rattlesnake Tiller was trying to get missions hit, BUT anyone can see loads of command/T2 stuff this is not normal mission running, most in a agent hub will be standard ships with the odd uber setup.
Tiller and Ropper congrats excellent times damm fine mission running.
p.s can you guess why mission runners dont join you in low sec ?

I think CCP know exactly what goes on with missions... you think their mission writers (well the tea boy / cleaner who sometimes writes one inbetween cleaning CCP offices) write them without running them in a over pimped ship ?
There are no ***seeeecrrrritttssss*** from CCP, they wrote them dam game
More importantly, I don't care lol

I agree 100% m8.. there has got to be a goal for guys startings lvl4s, that goal is speed that comes with spending the rewards on more hardware for ships etc.
I've still got along way to go with improving my own tactics / setup. I'm sure this thread can help us all find out what others can do and whats possible with different setups.

The end is nigh! Pirates are telling us how to run missions! Hide under a rock! Doooooom!
Anyway, do keep in mind that the rewards are generated from many variables, all of them player-based, one of them is time to complete. They affect primary reward, bonus time, and LP reward. So if you want the rewards to stay high, maybe you should keep the family secrets in the family? Otherwise people might do exactly what you suggest and thus kill the high rewards.
(And I don't think CCP mission builders test the missions at all. That's what BH's and Singularity is for.)

Not telling you how to run missions numbnuts, just helping.
You all seem to think the ways and speed you do missions is classfied info. If CCP nerfed higher end ships / mods / skilled players on mission time you imagine how that would effect newer players. Thats why it's not a problem doing this thread.
I know a guy in rl who has just started lvl4s in a raven and it took him all evening to complete angel extra... imagine making it tougher ?

Edited by: Ropper on 09/09/2006 20:23:01 Edited by: Ropper on 09/09/2006 20:22:52 First off,
Yes there are players that run missions in low-sec. It means u can run into a pvp situation, it doesnt mean u always are a pirate... Furthermore, yes people that run these missions at these times have alot of skillpoints, but there are god knows how many people with better skills that take longer. My point being its not all skillpoints. I dare say that not many people are able to run AE solo under an hour. simply cos u have to run it kinda freaky making sure ur clicking almost constantly and be at the gate with drones scooped when the last rat dies. This requires quite alot of determination to run a mission like that.
I run the missions afap cos atm i feel this is the only challange left in missioning. Doing the stupid missions as fast as possible. I genuenly hope CCP nerfs/makes new missions so they become interesting again.

Samo, running them as fast as possible is the last challenge really. Trying to get a better setup and beat your own time.... it also has knock on effect of making plenty of isk. This thread is about this speed running for absolute max lp...
I guess there is about 20 or so lvl 4 missions, certainly doesn't feel like any more. Why are CCP not writing more, I don't understand. They have a large staff, surely they would have a couple of guys 24/7 writing new content.
Anyway, I hope some more guys post up some times / tactics... would love to see a CNR user post and also some die hard torp spammers. Don't worry if your time aint that fast, it's just to guide to see how missions work out for everyone.

Please don't get confused with this topic's idea. This is yet another pirate to prove how we (greedy mission runners) are totally over-powered and should be nerfed and moved to low-sec and have all the rest of fun things done to us. Real mission-runners don't "farm" anything. We "work" on the missions and we have to gather the loot to make it worth the time spent. Majority of us don't fly uber-faction ships fitted with uber-faction mods. It takes more then enough of time and effort, and it isn't being made easier by all the picking on, that we get lately. Leave us alone already and stop the nerfing.

Waffles.
We're talking about a pirate. In an alliance called Pirate Coalition, no less. Do you honestly think he's in Jita with the rest of us cute, fluffy carebears? Come now. You know he's out in 0.0 romancing some nice 18+ quality agent, getting rewards we could only dream of. And if anything, that says nerf lowsec... which will never happen.

OMG, seriously. Who cares where anyone is. Are you afraid hes comming to get u?? Missions are identical in both low as high sec space. Players that mission low sec however have more options except mining or something equally boring in high sec. An alliance means they probably have some sort of quotum to reach and they have a big group to shoot with sometimes. Nothing more. Oh and the 'own' space. Which kinda owns them :P
the OP was just interested in other players times and how many lp they can get in an hour using which ships, nothing more.

That wasn't the point of my post at all. My point is that people need to stop assuming that everyone runs missions in 1.0 space, or that just because someone is taking a break from PVP they're "compiling a nerf report."

Your times and LPs completely own mine.
Firstly because I use mediocre quality agents in high sec, secondly because I run them in Amarr HACs / Command Ships, which combine short optimal with low speed.
For example, Unauthorised Military Presence takes me around 40 minutes and gives a mere ~2700 LP, when run in a pulse Absolution.
The Serpentis Spies, roughly the same time for half the LP. With an 8-23km optimal, 5km falloff and 193m/s max speed, my killing time is completely dictated by the speed of the approaching NPCs, not my setup.
I basically specialised in the wrong race to do what you do, and nerfed myself a second time by being an alliance soldier who runs missions to rebuild nerves and interest in PVP. For me, it's month-long campaigns of back-to-back fleet ops, or it's low sec mission running. I can't do both, one after the other.
I am training Gallente spec now, so in time I will be more effective. But having flown a T1-fitted Raven into some L4s in the past, I can see that no amount of mission-running experience will compensate for using the wrong tool for the job. An expensively-fitted missile boat is once again the way to go. Not the only way, but the best.

I always run lvl4 missions in nighthawk, generally I don't care about time to complete (look at the nh dps ^^) but sometimes I take the fast way to finish the mission.
With the loot I can reprocess to build ammo and sometimes (yes .. very very sometimes since ccp started his nerf campaign against empire resident) I loot something valuable to sell

So if a 'real' mission runner doesn't want to run them as fast as possible then why are you running them ?
You don't have to 'gather' the loot, you may think you do but no. By doing this you don't make as much isk because generally it's a waste of time.
Lastly, where do you think the expensive faction ship come from ?, I'll tell you... running missions. In fact, everything I have in eve came from mission whoring, for the last 9wks. Go figure...

Players from 0.0 have absolutly no ******* rights to ***** and moan about lvl 4 mission runners and have much isk they make.
lets look at a blood raider 6/10 complex shall we?
1. it can be run 4 times a day solo in a apoc. 2. make 400m each time give or take depending on the faction loot got. 3. in ten days one person could make 12+ billion easy.
mission running.
1. nerfed boutnies and rewards. 2. dangers of being jumped in low sec or 0.0 ( applies to plex's too ) 3. one could make 1+ billion isk in ten days if they are lucky.
how does that compare to plexing?
anyways back to lp per hour.
I used to run mission 4 four weeks. made about 120k lp a day. and yes i rushed mission . took me 4 weeks to get 1.5m lp
and i still didnt get overly rich. Great Quotes...

You guys who try low sec and get killed once and never go again need to try again.
- The key to low sec running is don't choose a agent who will be in or send you to a camped system... Egghelende and Amamake will get you killed. Generally people go for the highest quality agent they can, but these tend to be also pirate black spots. As your standings go up you don't need these top quality agents to get the rewards.
- Most low sec systems have local pirates. Try to get to know them rather than smacktalking them.. maybe they will just leave you alone.
- Scout ahead with a alt if possible before jumping systems.
- If you have a raven carry FOF cruise with you if you can as this can save your life.
- Don't harden your ship to a point where it is only good for fighting a NPC and would melt on a player attack.
- Lastly if you are attacked don't turn to jelly and sit there and die, pretend the pirate whos attacking is a NPC and blow him to bits. He'll have the sentrys on him as well and I can guarantee if you can lay down a few hundred dps as well he'll either explode or warp away VERY fast.
Actually tiller. your right.
dont **** in your own nest.
i never gave **** to the local pirates and they never attacked me. infact gave them a couple of hits of players i didnt like which they came through on. and i was impressed enuff to pay 2x what i offered.
also having the constelation mapped out and being weary paid off many times.
same in a low sec system near hopib where i ran missions. I just took it easy. with 4x q20 agents i picked my missions. we had a local secruity channel we shared :) came close to getting popped but a cerebus aint a match for a absolution :) even when under fire from npc bs's.
bottom line. use your brains. Great Quotes...
