for speed go with the cnr, the extra shields and launcher makes a hell of a difference, id fit 3 dread bcus and 7 dread cruise also get the -5% rof implant, id also suggest getting a gist b xl booster as u dont wanna loose ur nice new cnr. Oh and get a least a gist b and dread tank, i use pith b's and dread invuls on mine. i have bs's 4 the -5% rof implant and rapid launch 4 and my rof is 7.09s and with cruise missiles at 5 plus the dread bcus i get 541hp dmg per missile.

Gist XL, the crystals were not really needed tbh but were good insurance if you got careless and pulled a whole lvl.
Like others said here X-Type is OTT really, and a C-Type is fine if your careful. I think with the scan probe changes in Kali next week, multi billion isk ship setups will become something that very few use.

For sure, get your tank good first, then buy a CNR to go with it. The CNR is worthless without the officer tank.

I respectfully disagree. The CNR offers an additional launcher which is the power of the ship. Why are officer/faction fittings needed to make it useful? They make it easier on fitting but they are really not needed to make the ship functional and superior to a normal Raven.
I use a T2 Raven in missions with a Dread Gurista Booster. Not beause that is all I can afford, simply because that is all I need from a tank perspective.

Yeah, I think what he meant is he'd rather have a near-uber tank fit on a normal Raven, then to spend the isk on a Navy issue & still just have a t2 tank.
You're right, the power in the CNR is the 7th launcher, not the tank ability (except for some extra hp's). So that's why he suggested sticking to standard Raven and put the isk into the much better booster. |

Flying 2bil ship in 0.0 isn't all that plesant really. 1 navy raven + good skills + practice gets you same result as a 1bil shield booster unless of course you are in the habit of agroing entire stages just for fun.

I assume with cap recharge rigs one can run level IVs rather easy and fast with tech II gear only without having 20 mill sp.

this thread is about grinding missions as fast as possible so we can enjoy doing other stuff in eve with plenty of isk... if you have a problem with that then your playing the wrong game.

But I'm all relaxed, and in fact I'm working on taking LONGER to do my missions. Record so far: Infiltrated Outpost in 5 hours - that's constant work, folks!

guristas extrav 81 minutes including bonus room
U have to do the bonus room i got a dread invul from the structure once. Rof 6.85s dmg 541 per missiles, another 2 weeks and rof will be 6.5s :)

time in this case is not equal to money imo finishing a mission 10-20% than standard means you need 1-2bil in gear and if you want to translate that time into money, you need to go to 0.0
and its not really worth it flying 3bil in ship+gear around in 0.0 now with scan probes, even if you are in friendly space.
seeing a navy raven on scanner warrents immedate probing for any hostile force in your system.

No longer true with salvaging. There are two types of missions now, those that can be salvaged, and those that can't. Being able to run missions faster means that, when you get a mission you can/want to salvage, you can salvage it sooner, and get on to the next mission sooner. When you get a mission that you can't salvage, being able to finish it fast means being able to get to the next mission faster.
And you still get LP for missions, which in turn can be converted into ISK. Being able to get your agents LP up to the 500k range where you get the faction BS offers, and depending on what you get, sell for anything from 200m profit up to 1.4b profit. (rattlesnakes and such)
"imo" spending the money is well worth it.

Can't give any LP but it's probably around 3.8k for guristas extravaganza running just shy of two hours to complete without the bonus stage.
Soo... time taken: 90 minutes mission: guristas extravaganza ship used: T1 raven weapon used: 6x arbalest cruise launchers, 2x heavy diminishing nos, 5x hornet 2, 5x vespa 2 LP farmed: 3.8k notes: 2x BCU 2, 3x PDS 2, dread guristas ballistic and thermal hardener, domination invuln field. didn't have to warp out at all, tank is great. not sure how to get a quicker time except fitting t2 launchers (which i can now use).
this is a fun mission!

interesting.. i'll have to try this in my drake instead of just ****ing around the deadspace complexes messing around with camera angles while the rats are attempting to break my tank..
and stop going AFK for 10-15 minutes while the complex rats are shooting me.. that might help the times too

Actualy they recently went through and purged a lot of the old "open space" kill missions and rewrote them to go into random location deadspaces recently, that probably took up a lot of the mission writers time. (that and they set up some more creative pathing on them, so unless your watching it closely (at first) you end up agroing 2 groups+ of ships that are acualy flying an interlocking path.
that and some of the escalating Exploration "paths" have been quite complex from the sound of things. ---------------------------------------

Mission: The rogue slave trader 1/2 Time taken to complete: a little less than 10 min Enemy encountered: sansha, 2 battleships around 4 battlecruisers, and 5 frigs Stages: 1 Ship used: CNR Drones used: 3x wasps Amount of ammo used: around 90 EM cruise missiles Salvaged items: 11 fried interface circuits, 3 armor plates, 3 charred micro circuit Loot: LP gained: 29xx Agent ISK gained: around 1M Standing gained: less than 0.1 Note(s): to finish this mission real quick just fly and shoot the slave pen from the start and get the prisoners, shoot the BS's and webbers while you get there and fly away. 50 prisoners (1.0m¦)
//edit To finish this mission in 4 min or less.. warp in: take out the slave pen, warp out and warp back in within 0M, take the can and warp out to your agent. As easy as that! I did it in 4 min:)

Just a quick thought
Has anyone tried to put 425 T2 Rail on 2 spare slots in Raven (or 1 in CNR) I fly CNR with Gist X-Type XL SB and other faction/t2 stuff and i find it quite overtanked. With rigs on i can release 1 low slot or 1 med slot or maybe even both. Low could go for faction co-processor and maybe i could fit 425 mm T2 railgun then. Or maybe there is other sensible use for 1 spare slot on CNR? (please dont nos/tractor/salvager. I mean sth that will speed up things)

well my gunnery skills suck bad so i fit a 33km nos on, always good to have lots of cap, i do have 2 exp radius rigs for my missiles and a cap recharge rig as well.
One tip, if u have 3-4 frigs warping toward u fire 1-2 missiles at each, they will all pop before they get close. I did it with 6 frigs and they all popped long before they got close, it does tend to cause mass aggro though and there are 1 or 2 areas in missions that even a faction tanked ship cant handle.
