So, is this how it works? You only post your killmails but you are not supposed to, or dont have to, post your lossmails? Rather it is the killers job to post the killmails (i.e your lossmail) is this the general consensus of the EVE killboards?
Do YOU post your killmails but never your lossmails because you think that its not your "job" to do so?

both kills and losses always.
not all alliances or corps feel like this, they think that kills are they only thing that should be posted on a killboard and that posting losses would lower moral I say if you have to mod/restrict your killboard/policey not to post losses then perhaps your not doing as good as you would like to think you are. Just as I thought
I came across podbase. I always like to see if i have kills or losses in killboards, because I never use them myself. I found that I had a lossmail from when I lost my faction apoc in aldali but NONE of their dozen losses :/ So I updated it and sent Tyeke a mail and got this message back
"2006.09.11 16:08 Not our job to post out losses... =)
-------------------- 2006.09.11 16:06 very classy of posting ure killmails but not ure lossmails, podbase updated :) sad dont have the countless BS killmails the sentires got,
take care :)"
Obivously couldnt expect much more then that from him & his corp.

Then they will never be able to make a correct decision based on their pvp performance.

I post all my kill/loss mails, but sadly most of my corp does not. They operate under the "not my job" philosophy and it annoys the hell out of me.

i deleted all my lossmails cos i thought i had posted them all, turns out i hadnt >_<
when ive just made a kill, ive got very little to do while safespotted waiting for the pvp timer to wear off, so i usually alt-tab and post the kill onto podbase.
when ive just been killed, my precccupation is with escaping with my pod intact and rebuilding my ship.
i think i might put a note in my bio to post the mails to podbase if im killed , because frankly, i usually cant be bothered

Yer, in serk we like to Post all our loses. Also we dont use external killboards as alot of them have fake killmails. A certain allaince even has one of our members losing both a dread, carrier and zealot in the space of 20min and they were killed by 1xRifter and 3x tech I crusiers (funny thing though it the guy cant fly capital ships or has the isk to afford them).
Personaly our Killboards are for our own enjoyement and a little corp competion never hurts

Edited by: Stigee on 12/09/2006 06:24:01 I used to not post my losses. But nowadays I post everything. Though currently I havent posted any recent kills/losses but I will post them now on as I got to a corp for now. For some reason, it makes me feel bad if I dont post my lossmails. It just doesnt feel right.

I have come across people who refuse to post losses. Its a pet hate of mine, luckily it is policy in my current corp and alliance.
Some people are ashamed of losing ships for some reason. The rest of us know that sooner or later you will get owned in EVE. Face it with some dignity. There is no way around it. Tommorrow the roles may be reversed.

oh and you get kicked out of sniggwaffe if you don't post losses, but tbh posting is a good idea for recordkeeping purposes anyways,

we always insist on both being posted but sometimes heavy losses can take up 2 24 hours to post as primadonna pvpers dont like to lose ships and some (myself occasionally included )log off in the huff and shout at ourselves for a period of atonement(sometimes involving self flagellation)
can you put a price on peace?

Has it not occured to anyone that you give future enemies the loadout of your ship by posting your losses?
Posting losses will eventually shoot you in the foot, particularly if you are a pirate being stalked.

i post losses as well, and alliance mates do too. setting up a campaign on the killboard is useless if there are no losses to evaluate your performance. that of course only works for corp killboards, the public ones are worthless. any serious corp should post losses too.
oh, on a side note about fake kills... my favorite smack-target who changes corp like every two weeks for example posts kill after kill (on corp killboard) of empty, nekkid ships that he all killed with his stabbed raven and juggernaut torps. or his kill of a badger mkII (where the board didnt find the appropriate ship icon 4tw lol) with a badger mark II right after it, he even reposted it after he mistyped the faked mail... or same target, within 2 minutes a caracal, then a badger, then an inty. i mean... i could understand if those ships were in the badger, but cara first? all empty of course. and how can an inty die to torps anyway :)
