So are all bringing mindlinked EOS + 4 celestis to fill those 28pts?
so Signal suppresion l4, ship bonus, eos 33.75%.
2 sb ii + webber + 3 tii dampeners?
tii rails + tii meds?
And what are tha traditional vulture + cnr comboes going to do, fly as a pack ( keep at range ), towards the celestis pack boosting each other and hoping to get so close they can get one by boosting the the cnr sensors?
Anyhow I Quess thsoe dampener fleets get one smallish ship killed from the other side and it will end in slow point ficture, or DQ cos area is escaped or cos someone risks with a smartie and someone suicides to it.

Im sorry to inform that this year the legacy of SA is broken in the championships.
Our well trained team including the members of the previous two tournaments ( where we where in top 16 and top 8 ): Shivan, Darpz, Kernal and rest of us( Xelios and uchi in the bench )
And even the two remaining members we got from amarr championship winners blackviper and ecliptical ( in his new account ) are currently dressed in black.
Due to random real life problems in last week after months of specialized training, we found our self in the queue ( outside 40 ) and thus just heard when day changed that we are out.
With a legacy from the tournaments with solid good placements and with better funded and more skilled team than ever would have been more than happy to join this tournament.
I hope those alliances activated for this tournament will get to quarter finals like we have, because otherwise this pain im currently feeling will make me cry.

So, I'm guessing this means everyone paid the bill?
*sigh*
What if those 4 alliances who found themselves shut out of the tournament because the brakets were changed without anyone knowing, found a 5th alliance to fill the braket?

The idea is nice, I am even willing to pay that billion and we might be able to use ghost alliance like good old SA for it. But instead of brining 9th group there is about omega other possibilities like.
a) take all 44, 4 groups 11 in each, 4 matches per team and football scoring, top 16 continues.
b) take all 64, use some decent linear congrentual pseudorandom to fill in 1-2 empty slots for each of the 16 4 men groups. 1 goes per slot, some have less fights but bests goest to quarter finals anyhow.
c) take all 44, 2 groups 22 each, 7 matches each, top 4 from both continues staight to semifinals
And remember its nost just sad for us to be out, its just for you not to seen alliances like IRON or us old Mass members giving u some challenge.
Those of you who got in, honor the bushido code, pressure the organisers to use their imagination to make it a alliance tournament, not a alliance- tournament ( with just the 40 quickest including some ghost alliances ).

Firstly, I agree that all alliances that apply should be in the tournament, so I hope you all get in.
Secondly, where is Kayo? He's always in the alliance tournament! He ain't on the BoB pilot list.

Such tournaments are going on all the time, organized by players themselves.
Why don't you make one?

LeMonde, I hope you seriously consider entering any of the alliances that haven't got it, no matter the cost. As trigger said, it's an alliance tournament, so anyone who applies should get in.

Uhm.. we DID.
We sent in our team roster well before the deadline. It's just too bad that it was decided to only allow 40 alliances without actually telling anyone.

Signed up well before the second deadline ;P
You sent in your app after LeMonde extended the time (due to lack of participating teams) .. If you'd signed up before signups were originally scheduled to close you would've been in

Quote: Fights are limited to 15 minutes in the first round. After that the fight will be stopped and whichever alliance has destroyed ships with a higher number of total point worth will be declared winner. Unused points count towards the ædestroyed pointsÆ number.
Am I right assuming that this means that if you don't use all your points you automatically forfeit them as "lost ships" ?

No the opposite is true. Unused points are counted as killed points.

Ok, I'm a bit confused here. Rules say you can lock beforehand, but then LeMonde says they will fire an ECM burst at the beginning anyway.
So what is the point of having that in the rules if the lock is going to be broken at the start anyway? That's just contradictory, and very confusing.
I would ask that either "ECM burst will be fired to signify a start to the match" be added to the official rules, or remove the part saying you can lock beforehand altogether since it makes no difference if an ECM burst is going to be fired.
Unless someone can give me a plausible reason as to why you'd need to lock beforehand if you're just going to lose the lock anyway. Ship scanner wouldn't make sense since you're already setup....don't know what else you could do really.

Well I quess most of the poorer alliances are bringing this kind of 4 celestis + eos fitting for quite many fights, but I also believe that many better resourced alliances are using CNR + Vulture only, if its truly true that not used points are counted as killed points.
EOS + 4 celestis, cant infact, specially after kali, kill Vulture+CNR, and those only need to slowly ( moving together ( keet at 50m ) move towards hostiles celestis etc pack and down few to win or just tank it if not used points are counted as killpoints.
Is it still truely a caldari tournie?
IMO extra points used as kill or loose points make the tournie less a manly fight of best pilots, but partly a logical exercise leading to boring fights.

Its a subtle way of saying that one player can use a ship scanner if available and scan the enemy ships beforehand to get a tactical advantage. But, your loose the use of a midslot which.

No the opposite is true. Unused points are counted as killed points.
This makes no sense. If points unused count as points that you've killed, to your advantage (i.e. the opposite of waht the person you quoted said), then by fielding one, INCREDIBLY tanked tier 1 bs, you spend 9 points, and have 19 points spare. Thus you are up 19-0 and the enemy cannot win even if they kill you... as it would be 19-9. Unless I have managed to misinterpret what you AND the first quoted poster are saying (or you misunderstood him), then points unused count against you. Thus all teams must strive to use all their points.

Edited by: ShadowlordUK on 27/11/2006 10:30:49 It's quite simple really tbh.
You have 28 points to spend. If you don't spend all your 28 points, whatever points that you dont use count against you.
So you could spend 24 points if you wanted, but your team would then start at a disadvantage, as if they had already destroyed 4 points worth of your ships.
Without this rule i wonder how many teams would have turned up in 5 interceptors / assault frigs.
Also it means that teams actually have to put some isk where their mouth is in order to recoup the initial billion....

I am pretty sure that when the ecm burst is fired it breaks everones lock at exactly the same time, signalling the start of the match, its a pretty easy way to start the fight rather than a countdown or ready, staedy go.
