The Proteus release has been successfully deployed!
This release brings a whole host of module rebalancing and the introduction of several new module variants, as well as a redesign of the Exequror cruiser hull, new visual effects in asteroid belts to improve immersion, a re-balance of Recon cruisers, new features for the Beta Starmap, the introduction of small scale mining anomolies for rookie pilots in starter systems, the retiremement of Teams, new audio for Aura in Russian and German, and an awesome new theme tune from CCP RealX.
For more information on the Proteus release, and to see a full list of features, take a look at the Proteus release page, and read more about what's coming in CCP Seagull's "Coming to EVE in the Proteus release" dev blog. For a full and detailed breakdown of changes please see the patch notes for Proteus.

The patch notes are a damned mess though when it comes to the module changes... here's some excerpts:
2 Penalties?
Quote: Dark Blood Capacitor Power Relay
Shield Boost Penalty GÇô -8% (was -10%) Imperial Navy Capacitor Power Relay Shield Boost Penalty GÇô -8% (was -10%)
Khanid Navy Capacitor Power Relay
Shield Boost Penalty GÇô -8% (was -10%) True Sansha Capacitor Power Relay Shield Boost Penalty GÇô -8% (was -10%)
2 sets of stats for one mod:
Quote: Nanofiber Internal Structure I
Velocity Modifier GÇô 7.75% (was 7.85%) Inertia Modifier GÇô -13% (was -13.1%)
...
Nanofiber Internal Structure I
Velocity Modifier GÇô 9.5% (was 9.4%) Inertia Modifier GÇô -16 (was -15.8)
Bonus misnomer:
Quote: Synthetic Hull Conversion Inertia Stabilizers
Signature Radius Bonus GÇô 6% (was 5.5%)
Domination Inertial Stabilizers (NEW Module)
Signature Radius Bonus GÇô 7% Inertia Modifier GÇô -20.5%
Shadow Serpentis Inertial Stabilizers (NEW Module)
Signature Radius Bonus GÇô 10% Inertia Modifier GÇô -21.5%
And there are formatting problems too where Miner I and Single Diode Basic Mining Laser are both listed as list items underneath Civilian Miner header.
I find that without a good mob to provide one for them, most people would have no mentality at all.

The Minmatar one is tentatively scheduled to come in the february patch, and the Caldari one will come in a patch sometime after that, with the Galente one coming last in a patch after that.

From the patch notes:
Quote:Inertial Stabilizers
All Inertial Stabilizer modules are now consistently named Inertial Stabilizers instead of some being Inertia Stabilizers and some Inertial Stabilizers. And then right under that:
Quote:Synthetic Hull Conversion Inertia Stabilizers k.
Also, I brought this up on Reddit, but your naming convention isn't being followed properly. Name designations for modules need offsetting single quotes, while technical or descriptive ones do not. You mix the conventions during your update of the module names. Basic Expanded Cargohold became 'Basic' Expanded Cargohold. "Basic" is not a name, it is a descriptive term. It shouldn't have offsetting quotes. I did an analysis of the mining laser changes and their naming inconsistencies as well.
Mining Lasers
Civilian Miner - Civilian is descriptive and needs no offset.
EP-SGaussian Scoped Mining Laser - EP-S is a technical designation and needs no offset. "Gaussian Scoped" is descriptive of how the module works or is designed and needs no offset.
Miner II - Yup.
Gallente Mining Laser - Faction name is descriptive.
Single Diode Basic Mining Laser - Descriptive.
Particle Bore Compact Mining Laser - Descriptive.
Mining Laser Upgrades (Ore and Ice)
ElaraRestrained Mining Laser Upgrade - Elara is a named designation and needs to be offset with single quotes. Restrained is descriptive and needs no offset.
'Carpo' Mining Laser Upgrade - Named.
'Aoede' Mining Laser Upgrade - Named.
Frigoris Restrained Ice Harvester Upgrade - Frigoris is named and needs to be offset. Restrained is descriptive.
'Anguis' Ice Harvester Upgrade - Named.
'Ingenii' Ice Harvester Upgrade - Named.
ElaraRestrained Mining Laser Upgrade - Elara is named and needs to be offset. Restrained is descriptive.
If you're gonna go to all the trouble of creating a naming convention, stick with it! |

The starmap looks fine but honestly, who will use it ? Dotlan or GARPA are better as they can be used more efficiently when doing anything else in the game (the great power of alt-tab...), and offer features like the calculation of the route between two locations where we aren't physically. You are wasting precious energy for nothing, unless you are willing to copy them and only if it is your objective, then we are talking.
Still, no RGB sliders, nor better themes and so still only dark ones... I will have to strain my eyes all the time apparently when I do market and anything else. No opaque neocom when the rest is opaque. The previous "Operating System" UI was far better than the new one...
And so, thanks CCP to refuse to correct something you broke in a previous expansion, as usual. I hope that one day, you will consider more important to repair all broken things of EvE than adding stuff whose role is mostly to hide the terrifying mess you accumulated all this years... |

Belts look terrific, however claims that the new effects wouldn't effect frame rates simply aren't true. Not that I have the greatest system, but when I go into the new belts I go from being capped out at 60 fps full time to 30 ish fps and struggling. Looking away from the sun and the god rays bounces the fps back to 50-60 but looking towards those nice pretty rays kills it.
When Rhea first came out I experienced a similar drop any time window blur was enabled, this went away after one of the following updates I presume due to some sort of optimization so I'm wondering if the same can be expected in this case.

Is it that hard to add the PATCH SIZE on the Patch Notes section??????????
Not everyone has a superfast connection. For some people like me, (sucky 1mbs connection), I have to plan when to download these releases, and would be great and reasonable to expect a Dev to just add those simple numbers (which btw has been done before).

Pretty much any null sec fleet is going to have the same ships fit the same way - its called a doctrine. This concept isn't unique to ishtars. Try again.

I was left with more than a month paid subscription to the game. However, very quickly fading interest in the game because of this small flaws. This is a serious obstacle to play, because constantly have to strain your eyes.
Given that the CCP is silent on this issue for over a month, most likely we do not expect any changes. |

Hi,
The Rorqual is still pretty useless, it's been like that for the last 20+ patches.
Also I noticed something changed with belts, but nothing actually changed except for some added graphics. People mining are generally afk or have their graphics turned down all the way so that they can run multiple accounts at once. Mining is literally the most boring thing in eve and it is still an awful profession because CCP hasn't fixed null ore anomalies yet.
Please go poke Fozzie and tell him that null ore anoms still need to be fixed, arkonor is still garbage, and that I'm still right from EVE Vegas. |

JAN 2015: NEW/EXISTING ISSUES & FEEDBACK (with suggestions):
CORP SELLING DRAG/DROP: "Drag and drop" selling still does not function when attempting to drag items to sell from a corporate hangar. Only way to sell multiple items is to select them all, then sell, or right-click and select "sell" to force the client to add that item to existing open selling window.
NEOCOM ICONS STUCK AS "TRANSLUCENT": The Neocom panel is unable to be made opaque. Disturbing considering its top "E" (EVE) symbol, avatar pic, training graphic and bottom clock areas are opaque. PROBLEM: Hard to distinguish icons from bright graphics in background. Good example: when using "Carbon" theme with TRANSPARENCY=0. The icons are difficult enough to distinguish, but especially in a Caldari station with bright/reflective backgrounds (or in space with a bright star) "underneath" the Neocom.
TAB VISIBILITY: "Tabs" are not clearly distinguishable. They are simply words. Providing dividing lines to help discern/define where you can drag to/select would help.
"SEARCH FOR RECIPIENTS" UI BUG: No matter how big you resize this window (Example: clicking "To" when creating a new mail), the input field is overlapped by the "SEARCH" button.
PERSONAL ASSETS UI BUG: When open, the name of the systems/stations overlap all the background "columns with lines" (Quantity,Group,Size,Slot,Volume).
NOTIFICATION SETTINGS DUPLICATE BUG: "CLONE ACTIVATION" is listed TWICE under: "Notification Settings: Category Subscriptions: Miscellaneous".
CONTRACT BUG: When right-click "Create Contract" of anything, the default opening Creat Contract window has the bottom two lines overlapping: "On behalf of (corp wallet name)" overlapped by "Outstanding Contracts: (x/xx)". Only way to read it is to expand from your own default size.
CONTRACT ICON BUG: Still not being notified/flashing of a new contract UNTIL "Contracts" icon is actually clicked. Seems pointless to be notified "after the fact".
NOTIFICATIONS BUG: Notification settings still not behaving according to any changes of delay time or stack sizes, even when changed via slider options in Notification settings.
SCIENCE/INDUSTRY UI: Manufacturing jobs do not update themselves when jobs are delivered, in terms of "xx/11" manufacturing slots, for example. One must close the Industry window, then reopen it to clear all "delievered"(faded) jobs.
DARKENING/REFOCUSING CLIENT: Constant color shade "refocusing" is distracting. Example: When trying to split-drag (CTRL+drag) an item from one place to another, the center window will pop up asking how much to move, but the entire screen darkens. Gets a bit distracting when split-dragging 50 items "quickly" and not able to see the rest of your inventory (this is using "Carbon" theme). It's behavior is almost identical to when one hits the ESC key.
ICONS: Icons would be more visible and efficient if we could "color"/"tint" certain icons to help visually distinguish hwhat are industrial icons versus inventory icons versus business icons, etc. Especially considering grouping does not seem to work.
GROUPING: "Grouping" icons does not seem to function as intended.
OVERVIEW NAVIGATION ICONS: It would help if the warp/approach/jump/etc symbols above the Overview were larger. Though they appear to be bolder, they have then been reduced in size, with no ability to resize them (like one can with in-station icon sizes).
ALLIANCE MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS: There still has not been a solution to be "notified" if/when any corp has submitted an Alliance application - unlike how Corp applications are notified in the "Mail: Communications" tab.
WINDOW CORNERS/BORDERS: The window corners visually do not always "line up" next to each other. On some instances, when windows do line up next to each other, the 1 pixel line merges adjacently, forming a more visible 2 pixel line. But when they do not merge, you can see the background between a 1-2 pixel gap, even though the client insists your windows are "snapped next to each other".

This isn't listed in the patch notes but I'm still not sure:
- Did you add PBR (Physically Based Rendering) to stations exteriors?
- Did you add it to stations interiors, captain's quarters and clothes?
Adding PBR to clothes isn't very important, but adding it to stations interiors, exteriors and to capitain's quarters is important for visual consistency.
Plus, question:
- Why didn't you already add PBR to T3 ships?
Plus, feedback:
- Since Rhea and the new UI's release and the new (ugly) login screen, this last one is "flashing" a sec before the fade-in when starting client.
- Remove these damn corner brackets (yes, again and again, I will never stop to remember you how much a visual aberration it is ;)
That's all for now! :)

Well, looks like Module Tiericide - Round 2 is yet another major failure to really listen to player feedback.
For the modules which were supposed to be "tiericided", it looks like there was no change to the BPO material requirements for the T1 versions and no change to the reprocessing materials for the meta 1 versions. I'm guessing no change to NPC drop rates, either, so, for modules which have a high drop rate, meta 1 versions should continue to end up being cheaper than T1 versions (except in cases of deliberate market manipulation).
Thus, we continue with no reason to use most T1 modules, and no reason to build them (except as a component for T2 modules).
Sigh.
Should we also talk about how stupid it was to identically prefix the meta versions of the prop and hull upgrade modules with the same "Type-D Restrained" rather than mix them up, with different prefixes for each module (ex. "Beta Restrained Expanded Cargohold", "Mark I Restrained Nanofiber Structure", etc.)?
Has anyone at CCP ever done a search by name, with automatic name completion? Do you know how much easier this is to do when the prefix is different, rather than all the same? If you make the prefix different for each type, then it is only necessary to type in "Beta" or "Mark I", rather than "Type-D Restrained Expanded" or "Type-D Restrained Nanofiber".
And, why do we still have single-quoted names, like 'Basic', rather than just Basic? Again, search-by-name works better without the unnecessary single-quotes. |

I can't say that I'm entirely pleased with the results of the asteroid belt visual improvements.
It's a good start, but a few issues I have with it.
a) It's TOO cluttered with small debris. Tone it down a bit.
b) Add some variety to the debris sizes. The consistency of the sizes is less than immersive.
c) The textures of the debris is too even. Make them more textured like the minable asteroids.
d) If possible, allow for this stuff to collide with and be deflected off our ships/shields (rather than pass through us)

I am also disappointed in at least one change to the new map.
On the old map, I've long hoped that the problem (feature?) of jump route selection lines changing whenever you would mouse your cursor over a star would be fixed. I don't understand why the map had to behave this way. The switch for this says "SELECTION'S lines". My mouse passing over another star is not my 'selection', so why are the lines changing? My selection is the star (constellation or region) that I've clicked on and is centered in my screen.
I found it to be very annoying that these lines would be changing all over the place simply by moving my mouse cursor around the map, as it passes over other stars constellations or regions. In fact it aggravated the **** out of me.
In the last iteration of the new map this behavior had thankfully been changed, and the lines for your selected star (constellation or region) would remain in place regardless of your cursor happening over another star. I was elated that this was finally changed.
Sadly however, in this Proteus iteration of the new map you have reverted to the old behavior. Why?
Were players arguing to bring that behavior back? I can't imagine why.
If for some reason I'm in the minority and players were clamoring to actually HAVE that behavior, can you at least make it optional ? I do not want the jump route lines to change when my cursor touches a new star. I only want what I've selected to show the jump gate lines, and change only when I select (click on) something else.
You can however keep the other information (like region) that appears for a star when you hover over it. |

Fully opaque menus/windows would maybe not save lives, but at least protect eyes and reduce headaches. If I have multiple windows on top of each other (like chat-windows - I normally have three sets of stacked chat windows(12-15 total chats)) the text overlaps each other making the text difficult to read. This applies to other windows too. Also if I open a menu on top of that mess, it is often pretty much unreadable due to transparent menus. I repeat: Option for fully opaque menus is a must. |

I would like to add: The new visual effects in asteroid belts are great when considered globally. But when you watch them individually (the sprites), they really don't look right. They look really "cheap" and fake, as others have said. I think you should rework them entirely, mainly the textures, and add a lot more variations. And why not add rotation? Agreed this is another change for the worse with the newest map. I don't understand why they got rid of panning with the right mouse button. It doesn't appear that they re-purposed that button for anything.
Also I don't care for their adding the security rating next to each system name. I mean that information can be nice to have on occasion when you need it, but otherwise it adds too much clutter to the map display. I would prefer that to be an option. |

Yeah, the new asteroid visuals leave something to be desired. Some improvements are in order there, as I stated previously.
Also if possible, it would be great if they could make them interactable objects. Including being pulverized if they are hit with a mining laser or other gun fire during a dog fight with pirates.
I'm one of those who will have to move his ship if my mining laser is passing through another asteroid to mine my targeted asteroid. This is now more of a problem with the debris, as there is more occasion for a mining laser to pass through one of these. I was thinking how great would it be if the smaller rock was pulverized as my mining laser passed through it.
And to have gun fire absorbed by one of these, which would then also pulverize it but cause the target to be missed for that shot. |

By-the-way, I actually like what they've done with the windows. The semi-translucent effect. I don't seem to have the problem that some complain of.
One feature of the windows I would like to see though, is for the border of the window your cursor is over to light up (highlight) so that you know which window you are about to close for instance. Too often do I have windows whose upper right corners are very close to each other (or not even sometimes) and I can't quickly tell which window the 'x' belongs to and accidentally close the wrong window.

I'm still hearing a lot of complaints from players about the new icons. The new icons are less intuitive than the old ones due to the extreme lack of color. While your design team may feel that the old icons looked dated and wanted to refresh the look of the game you've condemned us to using these terrible icons. The only way i personally navigate these icons is by having them in the same order on every client after a month of playing with them. Trolls be damned, these icons are terrible, icon packs should be optional for both old new or third party icons.
While it may not seem to be an important complaint or grievance consider that with many of the other changes a hardline on these icons could be the straw that breaks a camels back for resubbing or unsubbing. |

Well I have to disagree on this one. I like the new icons a lot more and they are much more intuitive to me. I found all the colored icons to be too distracting with too much 'information' presented in them. I frequently could not find (or quickly identify) the one I was looking for. This new style works much better for me. The icons are more unique and easier to identify.
But then maybe that's just me. Of course I never have a problem with 'options'. To each their own.
I'm just glad they did address the icons. That's long been on my 'complaint' list, but I'd never gotten around to making a forum post about it. Apparently CCP can read my mind sometimes. (Or I suppose others had similar complaints).

I like the new map. It's not only much more attractive, but I think it's a big improvement on the old one. Albeit for the problems I mentioned earlier (like selection lines changing as your cursor touches new systems).
Windowed mode FTW!
I agree with the Perfecto that I don't need to see the security status rating next to the name of each system ALL the time. This is useful information to have when you need it, but it would be nice if it were optional.
I would like the names of systems along my chosen route to have their names displayed regardless of distance from my view.
I did prefer the menu items in the center. That did take me a short while to get used to though.
I don't like how now you are way zoomed out when opening the map. Previously you were zoomed closer to the system you were in.
And by-the-way, what happened to the option to color star systems by the faction/empire they belonged to?

I suppose the cluttered look of belts is starting to grow on me. I fly through remarkably few of the small rocks despite the frequency of them.
Still my earlier comments still stand. Maybe some belts can be more cluttered than others. Have some variety there. I would like to see more variety in sizes (though that may make passing through a rock more likely and definitely more obvious, unless they implement collisions with these things bouncing off you.)
All-in-all it's an improvement, but there is still room for improvement.

That's either Proteus related or I messed up something. If its the latter, I'd appreciate some advice and apologize for cluttering up this thread. If its indeed release-related; plz fix :)
Edit: I just saw there's a specific "Issues" thread. I've posted there as well. Feel free to ignore this one unless you know exactly whats going on and intend to save my day by telling me about it. |

Hello there!
I already wrote about it in the Rhea Feedback thread but would like to adress it again here.
Have you considered changing the Selected Item buttons a bit? To make them a little more interesting? At the moment they look like there is something missing. Maybe add a frame to them, like the old buttons had. Or make them similar to the other buttons of the interface, like the Probe Scanner buttons. Or make the white halo a little more interesting, the simple white square that is appearing is just ugly and looks unprofessional.
http://puu.sh/ezjIH/3043458fd4.jpg
At the moment the buttons look very simplistic, plain and boring. There is something missing to them, compared to the other nice buttons everywhere. The Selected Item looks kinda empty and unfinished. Please consider a simple rework of the buttons to make them more pop. |

One of the first things that started to come back almost daily was the issue of the 'Pac Man' game they were now forced to play crawling down almost to a stop causing them at times to loose cans as they miss clicked on stalled pins.
That this errant behavior appears to have been introduced since the latest update, does not seem to be confined to either Data or Relic sites and once it starts it does not clear up and can often migrate onto further sites in t he same system though moving to another system seems to clear it.

Hello all, I don't normally post on forums but ever since moving to Thera and living there I've become passionate about the place and would hate to see it eventually fail or become lackluster. I've been mulling over general feedback for the place and a couple of things stick out. I have a few propositions and improvements that could really improve the quality of life there and others are speculation or concerns where CCP hasn't gotten back to us. Here goes!
-PI CCP has been asked about Thera eventually having PI and never really said yes or no, just a vague "Maybe?" Would love to see that become a norm. -Corp offices After Thera was released high end large alliances scooped up all the offices and now the small guys are left with nothing, would it hurt to increase the office slots in Thera? -Agents Again one of those things CCP was vague about was if we would be seeing agents for The Sanctuary show up in Thera stations.
If anyone has links confirming a solid yes or no for anything please let me know, I think we can agree these would be positive changes and I would rather not start a lengthy argument as to why you believe they would ruin Thera, or hear your thoughts about bubbles/dics/hics as that certainly won't change (one of the things CCP has been forthcoming about).
Thanks all! |

Go for it! Experiment for a month, adapt, adjust and experiment again! At the end, this features has to be a killer.
I am not sure how many of us use it. But I have the feeling that a majority of players are, like me, using it pretty much all the time...

The removal of blinking notifications on the Neocom icons is a very damn bad decision.
I don't want the new notification system. It isn't well designed as you didn't listen to feedback. Can't find any good place to put this damn "always on top" button and the width is still not scalable...
So now my only option is to regurarly and manually check if I have new notifications by opening the mail window.
What a great step backward! (...)

I have developed a troubling issue.......... is in missions.
ALL my weapons now SEEM to alternate on damage amounts.
I fire missiles or guns or lasers or cannon and I get fairly good damage the first shot then I fire em again and get nearly no damage or very low damage then I fire again and get pretty good damage again.
Is this some kinda RNG thing?
Keeps doing that and sometimes it seems to alternate 1 good damage 1 low damage 1 good damage 1 low damage, etc.
Is this just happening to me or is it normal with this patch?
Weapon or ship don't seem to matter. Before the patch my damage was pretty consistent but now seems like I get high damage then low over and over. Something along the lines of 200 damage with one shot and the next I get 60.
Also I mounted a drone damage augmenter II and went on a mission. The drones got launched and did good damage. Pulled em in went to next room. Launched drones and they were doing pretty much the same damage as BEFORE I installed the equipment.
Gotta wonder why.
Also noticed the higher rated shields are not doing as well as they were before the patch.
So I got to ask, WHY am I increasing my skills and buying new supposedly better equipment when it SEEMS to do no added anything after one room in one mission?
If this is what Eve is going to become.... well... this leads to the question why am I paying for this? |

From the New Notifications - official feedback thread
Nolan Kotulan wrote:Dangeresque Too wrote:Aiyshimin wrote:Elena Thiesant wrote:Cat Harkness wrote:I do not get any notice of a Contract assigned to me, or my Corp. I could have sworn we used to get those.
It seems they still arrive, but only when opening the contract screen (which is a tad useless) I'd really like the Contract notifications fixed soon. Good luck with that. I asked about the old email notifications not blinking for my mail anymore, and they responded with "working as intended". They turned off the old email notifications from blinking on your mail icon because they feel that they are less important than normal emails. Appears they have extended this pre-determination of what players need to see or is important to know to contracts as well. Because you know, it will also show up in your notifications history if you want to open that window to see if anything new has shown up that you didn't want to spam across your screen now instead of the old icon just blinked instead. I have also requested that if this is their position that they at least give us options to control what blinks and doesn't blink all the various neocom icons, like the wallet, mine will blink when a corp mate is doing missions and collecting bounties, and I would really like to turn that off. I only want my wallet to blink if it directly affects my wallet, not corp. Another example of bad icon planning is the character sheet, I have a link to my character sheet via the profile pic, yet when i click on that i will get an additional character sheet icon that pops onto my neocom (really, I need 2 separate icons for the same window?). Same is true for the skill queue. And notifications for completed skills. Not only does it tell you when you log in, but it will give you multiple verbal queues (loud ding and a voice msg) and it will blink your character sheet and the little blue bar on the skill icon resets back to not full. And finally, I'm curious to see if the famous now almost 2 year old kill rights icon display bug will finally be fixed. But at the same time if it really does get fixed I will be sad because I already bought gifts for its 2nd birthday and can't return them :( Can't agree more! The removal of blinking notifications on the Neocom icons is a very damn bad decision. I don't want the new notification system. It isn't well designed as you didn't listen to feedback. Can't find any good place to put this damn "always on top" button and the width is still not resizable... So now my only option is to regularly and manually check if I have new notifications by opening the mail window. You designed this new gadget (this isn't anything else) because you wanted a whole more consistent notification system (everything in the same place you said) but it has never been as inconsistent as it is actually. What a great step backward! (...) Give us back at least the option to choose what should blink and what shouldn't And give us more option to customize the gadget (resizable width and the possibility to disable the "always on top" "feature").

Trolls be damned, these icons are terrible, icon packs should be optional for both old new or third party icons.
While it may not seem to be an important complaint or grievance consider that with many of the other changes a hardline on these icons could be the straw that breaks a camels back for resubbing or unsubbing.
The new icons are ok in that they are a bit more informative than the old ones, but they are still harder to distinguish due to the lack of colors. Add some color and the new ones will be great.

Two months in, and it still takes me significantly longer to manage the side bar, when doing industry and marketing related things. And I still confuse things, and click the wrong button, on a regular basis.
I also notice, the combat icons are still in color, nice inconsistency here. Aren't you going to make them monochrome with very simple icons, to help us identify them better? That's what you said about the side bar, surely that applies to combat as well.
Please don't actually do that, that was sarcasm. You already ****** up one part of the interface, please don't break the rest. The point I'm making, reading the reasoning behind the monochrome icons, it SOUNDS like that would apply to everything. Can you imagine finding the correct icons in combat in a hurry, with oversimplified icons and no color?
I think by color, then shape, THEN detail.
The market and industry icons, and assets and inventory icons, are similar both in color, AND shape, due to this, I am now identifying things by a Tertiary thought process, instead of the primary.
I tried your way, for two months now, playing nearly every day, and nope, I'm still making mistakes, and it's still MUCH slower.
The combat interface still works perfectly, guess why? *cough*color*cough*

It must be one of those things which differ from individual to individual.
I prefer the new icons, and find them more clear, and easier to find than the previous ones. But then I'd been away from the game for awhile and came back to these new ones. And never really got to become ultra-familiar with the old icons anyway.
I'm not sure if color would help or not, but I do like the simpler look to them better.

I also think it's individual. But it is very hard to see difference in some cases. In the sidebar, for example "journal", "notepad" and "contracts". Two of these are pen and paper, and the third one is just a paper. If I for example want to reach the journal... well, is it really obvious which one is which?
The old ones were sometimes strange, but I learned after a while because they were so different from each others. Please add some color, or find a way to make them more unique in shape.

The map icon would be the obvious one to change. It should show something identifiable as a map - a miniature representation of a constellation map would be ideal. |
