unfortunaly what dalman said is true - right when shark was writing post that no nod died, the 9uy one did so during siege. I think that particular node is cursed

Good luck, guys. I spent the last two days trying to find work out why someone else's server code was throwing a can't happen error, all the while listening to users asking over and over and over again when things were going to be back up again. I feel your pain.

Welding rust to rust ftw!
No offence meant, fixing without understanding the root problem happens all the time (albeit you normally have to layer fixes over each other until you cannot remember the real problem you were trying to fix...) - but it still made me grin.
Thanks as always for the update and good luck!

Sounds like TQ is getting some DEV love again.
I was about to suggest we rename the cluster to: "Bouncy" or "SPG (Super Petition generator)" but who knows in a few weeks from now good old TQ might be stable once more and we can look forward to some more intresting time when KALI does finaly arive.
Ah, well happy to see you guys are working on it though...

Oh dear. You posted this too early in the evening.
9UY4-H, Unity Station in Providence. FZN+EST led 10 Dread assault .. U'K+ISS led defence. Amazing fight ... one attacking Dread killed but the POS going down rapidly. A few minutes later the node crashes, everyone scrambles to recover, U'K+ISS get spare fighters in space first and kill a second Dread in the confusion despite heroic efforts from the attackers support fleet.
GM's swarming all over the place, reinstating fighters and stuff for hours.

About that part...
The node crash usually resets everything. Which means POS goes back to the 25% shield status etc. After each node crash, I've found myself at the safespot where I logged in - not at the spot where I was when the node crashed. And with the ammo in my guns being the one I had loaded when I logged in, not the one I had loaded when I crashed, and so on.
However, in this case: All dreads except one were as explained above in deep-space when they logged back in, while one single dread remained at the POS when he logged back on (or if he was on another node and didn't crash ). Needless to say it was an easy task for you to kill him, though ppl did try suicide attacks to help him.
Am I forced to have any regret? I've become the lie, beautiful and free In my righteous own mind I adore and preach the insanity you gave to me |

Perhaps the server Hamsters should be upgraded to something with more speed and stamina?
Forum Trolls would be my suggestion. Faster than hell and they can run forever. Best part? EXPENDABILITY!!!

Ugh.. as a software developer that makes me cringe. I understand the need to get a fix in place as soon as possible, but I hope the developers realize that even if their fix for this underlying bug works, that the bug still exists and could cause other undersireable side-effects if not truly fixed...

Well you probably weren't around then, and thus have no real clue as to what you are talking about...
The new cluster, the RAMSAN, did have a immediate, highly noticable effect on performance. ----------

Sharkbait has a new Dev Blog with information on the ills ailing TQ, who is working on it and what is being done to fix it.
His new item also gives an update for those that want their info in smaller chunks.
Thanks to Shark and Kieron for keeping us up to date. I'm a Senior Dev here where I work and I know how frustrating it can be trying to track down an inconsistant, non-recreatable bug.
Good hunting devs. I'm not going anywhere.

I think maybe you are the one with the problems. You want me to die because I complain about the state of eve? I think you need some counseling. So I guess the mods don't care if people tell other people to die.

And what are you basing your bad info on? I've been playing the game since release. It's as laggy as it ever was. None of those improvements had any effect. The reason why is simple. They didn't do the upgrades till the servers were already at their limit. All CCP seems capable of doing is playing catch up.
