I've just finished training T2 425's in anticipation of the Rokh and with the changes to torps as well, I can't see I'll be using the Raven again for some time in normal PVP scenarios. I'm primarily talking 0.0 alliance combat when I say PVP. Anyone else doing the same? Can anyone tell me a reason/situation I would use a Raven over a Rokh in the future?

/me raises hand. For sure. The Rokh will be far better for fleet imo, and I personally prefer turrets anyhow. The large ranges of fleet engagements, the Rokh will really shine, especially compared to the Raven. Although, a good torp raven will still be exellent for small group close combat. That is your time to use the raven :]

Drake.
Strong ship that... apart from the pwnishness it'll dish in PVP, it'll likely as not run lvl4s as well as a cerberus, with a little faction gear and the right rigs. ----------------

Raven will be an even better king of close range once ECM gets nerfed a bit.
And I think I'd choose it for small gang combat in general as well.
Rokh will be a monster fleet ship, though, and just lovely for any kind of sniper duty. ------------------------------------------- "Never underestimate the power of language."

Rokh is most useful 72km+, and it might be decent with Javelin ammo now that it doesn't get a Shield HP penalty. ^_^
But Ravens still do more DPS and will not replace a Rokh for close range... I don't even think putting blasters on a Rokh will do it.

No.
With Eng 5 and a full rack of HAM's, you're left with something like 250-300 PG.

Edited by: Synapse Archae on 25/10/2006 08:44:20 The rokh is not the ship for T2 425s. If you have t2 guns, you can get a megathron up to that range, and reap a 5% damage reward. On the rokh all you get is wayy more range than you could ever use.
I'll have to confirm this post-release, but my thought is the experienced pilots with the t2 guns will stay with the damage bonus on the megathron, and the rokh will be used to get those without t2 gunnery into long range fleets.

yes they take 120mw- the drake's PG is fine, you probably need a PDS2 for a full rack of assault missiles and a passive tank but that's not bad due to it helping your tank as well

Yeah, I think you'll be able to push 350-400 in dps with the drake fitted with HAMs
But the rokh looks sweet, even with my crappy skills I can push antimatter up to 74 km in optimal

Actually, i agree with this, Mega can get more damage and tracking, and is probaby stil a better sniper, though you give up a lot for it.
Rokh is more to allow Caldari to be useful in fleets, giving them instant damage, and to get younger players into fleets, no longer needing Tech 2 to hit targets.

I will use the Rohk in PvP. I'll also keep using the raven. They're both good ships. I'll also keep using the scorp.
All around, I think the portfolio is pretty good.
