Today our first NYX for commercial sale emerged from our POS.
Starting bid - 20 bill
Reserve - 24 bill
Min bid increase - 250 mill
Buyout - 30 bill
Auction end date - 05/11/06
15 min sniper rule
We hope to produce a new ship every 4 weeks as from this point. To reserve a slot please mail this character with your intent and we will mail you back the next available date.
Our alliance will at no point be known to the buyer in order to ensure the secrecy and thus security of our manufacturing POS. This unfortunate firewall has been put into place following several attacks upon the Capital construction POS's of other producers. Needless to say an alliance producing these ships for retail would become the focus point of concerted attacks.
Trade will take place in a low sec system of our choosing, close to empire.
Only 2 people allowed in local will be our NYX pilot and the auction winner, who will arive in a shuttle.
Once the buyer has seen the NYX they will transfer 50% of the auction price to our NYX pilot.
Our NYX pilot will then eject from the ship, into his pod and leave system, upon which point the buyer will board the ship and transfer the remaining 50% of the balance.
This method of trade will ensure trust is 50/50 on both sides.
However please note that we will only trade with well established and respected corps/alliances, to ensure the trade progresses in a proper manner.

If this is genuine then I would suggest using a third party i.e. NAGA/BIG to do the exchange of this ship.

Actually considering they are going to show you the Nyx before you send the money it might be for real. Using a trusted 3rd party does seem like a good alternative though.

It might be, then again it might not be and they will just take your money and keep the Nyx. Doesn't matter if this scam only works once, they'll profit 15 billion isk.

yeah it is a huge amount. Really since they cant be docked and there is currently no way to put this ship up for sale, in an exchange which one side cant bail out of, CCP should step in to enforce there are no scams.
but if its not a scam, congrats on building it, and not being found out. Although im prety sure someone like BOB would pay big money to someone who provided screenshots of the pos, with the capital ships array, and a system name

The offer is interesting (and rare), so before bidding would need to ask would you be willing to look for non-scammy ways for the actually transfer?
The only one I can come up is like:
1) A trusted third party is present in the system, and will release the ISK to the seller only after buyer has boarded (and cynoed away) the ship. If so, which kind of trusted persons would you consider (assuming the buyer pays the related fees)?
After all, there is at least one Nyx in hands of, uhm, 'creative' corporation, who would get nothing but praises if they gained 12B from a scam like this.

Safest way for a transaction like this is very easy. Take a trusted third party and give them the agreed isk. Buyer boards the ship and jumps out. Third party gives isk to builder. All safe and not much hasle.

Although scamming is loosely endorsed by CCP, surely scamming by way of the forums is not? Coz if it were people wouldn't be able to petition scammed GTC sales?

GTC scams are protected because it envolves real money, any other scam using only ingame means will not be heard with a petition.

One alternative could be to pre-agree on a set of specific high-value cargo (such as rare officer items or blueprints) to trade. The buyer could have these items aboard his ship and agree to be cargo scanned to verify. Both pilots then eject ans swap ships.

I'd agree to mediate this transaction, but it'd need me to go into a corp and I don't wanna spoil my clean record.
It's pretty simple, get trusted 3rd party, online pos, accept seller in corp, dump carrier in there, kick seller out of corp, accept isk, transfer isk, accept buyer into corp and off he goes.
Oh, and don't forget to put more that 3d worth of stront in there, you never know :P

Only gametime card trades are enforced by CCP - anything else is allowed to scam AFAIK.
