Oveur said that wrecks will be changes so you can see if they have stuff to loot or not. Don't have a link but it was a reply to a post in general discussion somewhere.

How about switching the object type from Wreck to (for example) Looted Wreck after all the loot is taken out?
You could hide Looted Wreck from the overview so Wrecks would disappear once looted. Also, you would simply lose the lock when an object changes type, so you don't have to manually unlock.
Then, there's only the problem of how to distinguish wrecks with useless loot you wont pick up from the rest. Some personal form of tagging that doesn't require you to be gang leader and that's easily taggable by shift-clicking an object in the overview or something?

I assume he was being deliberately obtuse in an attempt to engender excessive degrees of obfuscation, thus artificially enlarging the apparent extent of his intellect.
I LOVE wrecks. It's so cool to see a tangle of twisted metal drift drift past instead of a neatly assembled container.

Oveur has already talked about this subject. A change is on the way.
HERE **** YOU!
Now for the love of God, could we please stop making post about looted or non looted wrecks...

Originally by: Tia Kohi I just want to know why CCP didn't see this coming with all the testing on SISI? I dislike the devs more and more as this game evolves.
Simple answer. PVPers test more on Sisi. PvE'ers don't. One needs to know the new stuff coming out, to keep their "edge", the other tends to just drift along.
I've said before;
PVPer => Plays for the rush PVEer => Plays to relax
If you keep those two things in your head, you'll realise;
1. No, we are NOT all going to get along. 2. It's amazing that EVE has run THIS long keeping both of them (tolerably) happy. ---

"Deep in a hidden deadspace complex in a remote system, bob the fighter tears through wave after wave of frigates. But whats this? Some of the ships are magically disappearing after being shot!"
Think about it, no wrecks for no loot drops... Hmmm...
CCP is aiming for a more realistic game and wants to keep you immersed in the universe. In real life, if you blow something up, you have stuff left over. Seriously, it doesn't take that long anyway.

Originally by: Gorstag As a paying customer I am just voicing my opinion that the feature of "ship wrecks" you have added has ruined the game for me. Before with can's they were only dropped if there was something inside. It could have been garbage but it was at least "worth" checking out.
With this new loot model you are using I am spending 3 to 4 times as long to check these wrecks than the cans previously. This is completely tedious and "unfun".
As of today I have canceled both of my accounts. I am sure my brother will follow suite and cancel his two accounts. I will no longer recommend this game to anyone because it is no longer enjoyable.
Good day.
Bye bye now

Two to two and a half hours to fully loot and salvage a mission. (Both Worlds Collide and Vengeance at level 4 took that long) ---

How 'bout a new default scanner ability that lets you scan the area and shows a list of all of the items available. You click on the item/s you want and the wreck lights up showing you which one it is in. Even right click on the item in the scanner list and have an option to approach it.
Or how bout just select the items you want in the scanner list and drag and drop into your cargo :)

Give everyone a week to train up salvage and you will have people following you cleaning up your mess.
Wreck will become a commodity rather than a nuisance. It will just take a few days.

I dont know how i feel bout the wrecks but I can say the potential is there. CCP stated that basically Salvaging will be a new profession. Someone mentioned ganging up with someone who wanted to salvage. I did this last night. I killed the rats and the other guy salvaged the ships and gave me the normal loot he found. Now obviously this isnt going to happen everytime but I think it adds another layer of depth to the game.

Edited by: Irashi on 30/11/2006 02:53:41 I don't like the way you can't see anything on the map because it's too dark, and how it doesn't rotate the right way. The stars look all pixelated, and the seamless transition to and from the map takes too long
EVE is no longer enjoyable because of this and I'm leaving the game for ever and ever, and so will everyone I know who plays EVE (namely my imaginary girlfriend)
Who wants my stuff \o/

Seriously, you can still tractor them and they're no more annoying than cans were. I'd pop them when I'm done emptying them but drones don't engage for some reason and being in a domi I don't have any other means of popping them, but that will probably be fixed soon enough. ________________________________________

Gorstag space is empty, like the gap between your ears. Fill it it with crap, and its no longer space. its memory, those wrecks have a story to tell, learn the skills and go listen to the story, once you have listened, and taken all that was given that story will fade.

Originally by: Llaneza There's a couple of obvious problems with the new wrecks.
* Not highlighting with color or icon * No way to tell if it's empty from a distance. * No way to rename or otherwise mark a wrecks you visited before.
But for the last one there's a fix:
Wrecks take very little damage to destroy (thx to someone I don't remember on the Minmatar channel). This will let you clean things up while you're training salvage up.
Fix for seeing if you have looted or not..
1. Form Gang (yes if solo you can form your own gang) 2. Add tag to overview 3. Tag em and Bag em.
Not that hard really yes it is minorly annoying when you get some that are empty but they make up maybe 10% of the wrecks I have encountered so far on my missions.

whats the fuss all about? The topic is old. This point was around for as long as they put it to betatest it on Sisi. We told ccp that exactly this and that is wrong with wrecks. Especially in lvl4 missions, where you already need as much time to loot as you do to actually DO the mission, leaving behind wrecks will only annoy players greatly...
well, at least we got the acknowledgement that they will use two different items in the future - one empty and one filled circle. Its half a step, still, it won't be like it was earlier anymore... never again. It may be nice and cool in theory, perhaps even in practive in pvp fights... but fighting pve and looting after that usually is more annoyance and i should stop looting altogether... well... if i wouldn't feel that i... just miss an Arbaleste here or a Prototype Gauss there. :/ -- |

Originally by: Nicocat As a paying customer, I get to voice my opinion too. And that opinion is "Quit yer *****ing." If it bothers you THAT much, either stop mission-running and grow some cohones for some PvP, or get the hell out of our game, you little whiner. Wrecks are fine; you check all your cans already, no? Check all the wrecks and do it with a ******* grin on your face, and keep quiet.
very constructive there
not everyone has to PvP to have fun, and I agree with the OP on this one, though I havn't canceled
I run missions alot, either solo or with corp mates.....and this is completly game breaking for me
picking up cans in a lv 4 mission was always about the most boring thing in the game.....now it takes twice as long and is twice as tedious as it was
I know EVE is all about time sinks, but this is just to much IMO
and to all the trolls in this thread, I hope it makes you feel better to judge others on their preferance of gameplay
