Deimos is too slow, too heavy, too cap dependent to be worth the 180 or so million ISK. You would be better with a battleship, at least you can insure it. If you really want to fly a HAC save more and buy an Ishtar. _____________________________________________
GO MaZ The Priory Shroud Of Darkness	Posted - 2006.12.02 03:40:00 - [5] It's still pretty crap, but your best bet is to stack powergrid mods on it, fit with a 1600 tungsten, small rep and a med injector with 400's (less boost overall than 800 but more often) - put a energized reactive II on it and tank it passively. Still not very strong, but less so than the Ion II unplated setups which just dont have the HP now...
slothe Caldari Forsaken Empire	Posted - 2006.12.02 04:28:00 - [6] a brutix with setup like- 5x electron t2 2x med nos mwd web scram med cap booster + 800 charges 1 med rep t2 1 small rep t2 3x t2 active armour hardners 5x valkyrie drones i flew this pre kali and could beat most hacs 1v1 incl deimos and vagabond (has to get close enough obviously). i wouldnt engage an ishtar tho. post kali it gets much more hp + agiloity boost of 20% (wtf) so i imagine itspowered now. tho as it costs much less than a deimos, firepower is pretty much as good, tanking is better, agility is the same or better, hp are much better its all round better. which is a shame as i like the deimos. i have a faction pimped deimos ive been waiting to use. im tempted to strip the deimos and fit the stuff on a brutix. train bc to lvl 4 tho will make them much better for you andf wont take much time. *Before complaining about any ship try flying Minmatar*
FraXy 0utbreak	Posted - 2006.12.02 05:33:00 - [7] Edited by: FraXy on 02/12/2006 05:34:46 After some heavy losses lately i switched down to a Thorax and had 2 success kills in it. 5x Heavy Electron II Y-T8 Mwd, Fleeting 20k, X5 Webber Medium T2 Repper, Emergency DCU, 2x Magnetic Stab II`s, 800mm Crystalline Dronebay - 5x Medium T2 Drones Does 480-550 DPS depending on what kind of drones. Has taken a Muninn down solo, poorly fitted one, but still. Second was Thorax (me), Lachesis vs Deimos, Cyclone. Cyclone was only ship that survived the massacre. And the Lachesis didn`t have chance to dampen their lock gone so it was a head-on fight. About 15-20 mill loss per ship and it packs quite the punch. This is my lazy attempt to make an uber-signature, please go away!

I dont use a scrambler cause there is always someone else who scrambles. All i can say is i love my Deimos it might not be the best HAC out there but it looks awesome and deals tons of damage its like having a sledge hammer in your gang Its not always about flying the best ship out there, the deimos has flaws but **** it, its an awesome ship and i like it. Nag.

First of all, the main role of the deimos seems to be dealing damage and for that it performs very good. As with any other ship, awsome tank plus awsome damage is impossible. For me I found 2 fittings that seem to work pretty damn good: High Damage 4 x t2 neutron (void, null, antimatter) 1 x t2 electron 1 x small nos MWD small cap booster (100 charges) web/scram (for solo fit scram of course) t2 rep / corpum-a type repper (yeah expensive but its worth it! reason is in the rigs) RCU 400mm rolled tung plate DCU/EANM 2 x mag stab II auxiliary nano pump anti-explosive pump I get 11.7 dmg mod (only HAC lvl3 atm) with about 3sec ROF for the neutrons. Medium Damage 5 x t2 ion 1 x med nos MWD small cap booster web/scram t2 / corpum repper RCU 400mm plate DCU exp hardener eanm auxiliary nano pump anti-explosive pump Dmg mod is 7.2 with my current skills. This fitting requires AWU 3! Both fittings perform especially well against battleships and still good against well tanked battlecruisers like Drake (the pilot had good tanking/misile skills, so dont cry noob). I survived easily the MWD approach to a maelstrom that was 70km away. He was using exp missiles as well. Weaknesses are cap but tell me one turret ship that does not suffer from that. If you see its role as a main damage dealer in a gang or even as a solo ganking ship for a maximum of 2 BS its a great ship! So stop whining and use it!

The Brutix is slower, but does more damage, has more cap, and has a tanking bonus which the Deimos does not. It's not worth the current market price and it can't compete to a Zealot or Vagabond or Cerberus. Better train for amarr T2 and fit a Zealot with mwd, 1600mm, dual small rep tank and pulses. Gives 8k+ armor (with slave set over 10k), good resists, good dmg and 1650+ m/s.

I fly a zealot extensively and I'd love to know how you get 8k+ armor good damage and nice resists with what you named
