God, screw cap injectors. Those POSes should be taken out of the game, or the charges should be missle sized. The concept of anything requiring cargo space to efficiently be used (Except ore and industrial stuff, POS fuel, etc) is proposterous.
Using a cap injector is like saying "Hey, let's fire for 2 minutes than be useless". Come on, nobody should rely on an item that completly rapes cargo space and cannot be carried in near infinite quantities (like small missles for example).
I'd rather shell out 1,5bil for a chelm recharger than use a completly broken module that is being forced upon amarr. These things need a makeover.
Possibilities:
1) make charges 0.1-1.5 M3. This way, they will be ISK dependant only. Nothing is as stupid as running out of charges midfight, losing only because YOUR CARGO ISN'T BIG ENOUGH. What, should we start fitting expanders on our BSes? That's BS, and i'm not talking about a battleship.
2) Don't make them use charges at all - make them deteriorate trough time (A la mining chrystals), and increase their manufacturing costs manifold. Maybe slightly nerf them.
3) Keep them like they are, but add a new category that works the same way, but without charges. This new category uses 12500 CPU, but all amarr ships (Without any exceptions) get a -99,8% reduction in CPU usage. This would give amarr the long needed buff they deserve - no more CAP problems.
This would also solve the problem of the overpowered NOS. From then on, a NOS would be a small hindrance and a boost to your own cap, and for really destroying cap there are neuts.

Why not just give Amaar Infinite Cap. Then give anyone who fits a cap injector infinite cap as well to 'balance' things.

I loves it. Gallente and Minmatar have been totally injector reliant for ages, but now Amarr (race with largest cargoholds and smallest ammo carrying needs) have a ship which needs them to, it's the end of the world
Anyway, your points:
1) Fights last forever. Non-injector ships useless. 2) Wrong in so many ways, not least of which 1) 3) AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Actually, not a bad idea. Amarr are extremly cap intensive - it's so, SO easy to destroy any amarr with a NOS. Near-infinite cap for amarr wouldn't be a bad idea at all.

How long a gallentte fights is limited by his drone bay size and how many spare drones.
How long a caldari fights is limited by his missile quantity (obviously this is the hardest to run out of of the stuff listed).
It's not that unreasonable that if an amarr wants super dps + super tank, they have to relay on a cargo based mod.

One of the things that ammar do have going for them is no need for ammo. .001-.015 m3 ammo might as well be infinate ammo. Anyways, I have never lost a fight due to running out of ammo. Always ran out of cap injectors first.

When you choose to show your corp and alliance publicly on the forums, you're representing them, whether you like it or not.
However, if we all had infinite cap as this situation would allow us, think of the advantage that shieldtanked ships would have. Who needs an SBA when you can just throw on another booster because you have so much cap you don't know what to do with it. I actually like the way cap boosters work at the moment, and as I fly gallente, I am also cap dependent, sure, not nearly as much as amarr, but I still realize the need for a certain amount of balance in such things regardless of race. _________________________________________

wow he isnt, he isnt joking, i like it, infinate cap ftw :)) Pvp wise way overpowered, fill ur mids with cap injectors with 800s in, all ur lows with LAR's and u could tank an armarda. Yeh great idea not. I cant belive ur serious everone would fly armour tankers if this was put in simply because cap injectors us mid slots. imagine it just 4 cap injectors = 800 cap/s for ur battle ship. if cap 800's were ray small, thats endless cap for ur unkillable bs. Imagine how many repairers u could fit and run forever with 800cap/s? MADNESS i tell u.
Btw if by some oversight by ccp they do but this in for you, what are u gonna do when every enemie uses the same trick? spend 6hrs trying to kill each other?
This is simply a very stupid thread and the reason i say this are listed below.

There are a few suggestions on my website relating to cap charges (link in my sig). The idea behind it is that cap charges need not be a finite resource. There are situations where they can be restocked, such as having a carrier nearby, having an industrial drop some for you in an empire war or having a secure can full anchored in your home turf.

So, warpstabs are totally nerved and are not even valid to place on mining ships to mine in low security.
And so now they take a next item to whine about?
So lets assume the cap injectors are taken out. What will be then the next item, that you will whine about to take out?

boohoo. Amarr shouldn't have to worry about cap! It's so unfair...
Seriously dude cap boosters are fine they way they are. They take up tons of space to prevent people from from perma-tanking. If you are having trouble killing things before running out of cap charges, then you need to bring more gank. Think things through before running to the forums claiming things are broken. No one is forcing you to fit a cap booster on your ship.

I hate those fools who are "like omg stupid" "omg he is a fool" some go-with-the-flow idiot above who I can't even be arsed to quote.
See his point! The bigger picture! Don't just quickly make fun of the way it was written by saying flippant remarks designed only to attempt to persuade other posters your a funny person.
I see his point about injectors.... I think the only way the eve team will have all there sub system targeting and heat management goals realised is to sort out injectors. Injectors encourage extreme do everything setups that are of the very nature of short simple combat (What rev's and future updates are try to move away from.) It is a little silly how some ships need a injector to be of any use in PvP. We are dealing with large ships here ships they should be able to 'duke-it-out' in a majestic drawn out way and cap injectors are a source of the problem. Natural power seems more si-fi acceptable. A ship with the megathrons mass cost and battlefield presence should not go down in 3-4 mins due to lack of power (injector out cap death). Though a lot of eve would have to be rethought NOS, MWD penalties etc to remove the cap injector as it is now. The developers are going this way and I think looking at how to phase out cap injectors is a step in the right direction GOOD POST KOJIMAI.
I know my post goes a little of in another direction, but think about the logical point a post is trying to make don't just flame it.
Final thoughts maybe some sort of fuel in eve, maybe no recharge modules just a reactor core module or something that converts belt ice products into cap maybe every ship needs this module to undock who knows maybe some ability to shift this reactor output to engines visa versa? Maybe these reactors could have varying efficiencies from very efficient but low conversation rate to cap (NPCing/mining ideal) or very inefficient but a high conversation rate (ganking blasterthron ideal reactor). I dunno I am not gonna spend all day doing Tuxfords job. In the short term up cap recharge rates on cap recharging modules to make them more competitive with injectors and seed some more Cap recharger 2 BPOÆs 20 million isk is too much.

Hm..? Amarr 'finally' have a ship that needs injectors? Because we didn't before?
We've always had the highest cap-use weapons, and our other modules use just as much cap as they do when fitted to any other race. Shockingly enough, our extra 5% cap with identical recharge(most of our ships..) isn't enough to offset our extra cap use. So, amazingly enough... we fit injectors when we can.
The only reason you don't see injectors on most Amarr ships is that we've got only four ships in our entire T1 lineup that have four midslots, one of which is an EW boat. Our T2 lineup has an additional four ships with four midslots. Two of which are EW boats, the other two... Sacrilege and Damnation.
So the reason you might not see many injected Amarr ships is largely due to midslot limitations. Not because we don't need them. (Grid is also a huge issue, but other races also have this issue, though perhaps not as badly as Amarr)
Mmm.. kind of got off-track, there. Anyway, care to show me how Minmatar or Gallente are any more injector-reliant than Amarr? I'd love to know.

Ohh, the same way everyone is shield tanking now? I still remember the guy that was posting shield tanking setups for harbinger, dominix, geddon and apoc..
everyone shield tanking? wtf dont think so, alot of ships are much better off armour tanking, plus with armour you use the resistances more for ur tank since there higher to start with than shield res, oh and armour tanking leaves ur mids free ie perfect for pvp oh and CAP injectors lol

only realistic way cap boosters could be that size and remain balanced was if the boost they gave was reduced to half and ships were only capable of fitting 1, which isnt too bad but seeing as certain ships *cough*Abaddon*cough* cant keep cap up even WITH an injector going it might force certain setups to change drastically ...and of course make more people use NOS ----------- Turbulance |

question- so if everyone boycotts cap injectors, wouldnt it just give a huge advantage to Nosers and people who do use the cap injectors? why gimp yourself more than nessescary?

Personally just don't use them much. The OP's ideas are not very well thought out though. If he doesn't want to use one, then don't, go CR & CPR. You won't be pimped to the maximus, but neither will you need to deal with the pain in the arse of trying to keep it fed. Abaddon I won't even touch till can get some cap rigs to compensate for the sadly predictable flaws in it's desighn.
It's great being Amarr, ain't it?

Its a temporary boost, You make hte charges too small, and all of the sudden cap rechargers are absolete.

Well, most things would need you to put injectors in your mids, leaving your lows open for like 5 reps

Anyhow, Amarr arent the only ones who need cap injectors, Ammarians feeling sorry for themselves is one thing, but seriously... :D
Please name a race that depends on cap for both offensive and defensive capabilities. Some Gallente do but there are so many drone ships in that race that you can find one of your liking without having to worry about it. Hell, Caldari can both attack and tank with no cap usage, that is rediculous.

But to use their nber tank they need cap. Passive tank ok without it, but the active faction/officer/crystal one. It's so sweet. ___ P.S. Post with your main. Mind control and tin hats |
