Looked through answers and replies but i'm unable to see this mentioned:
When the launcher updates itself, it change or remove "launcher.exe" and substitute it with "evelauncher.exe"
This change isn't recognized by "eve.exe" in "x:\CCP\EVE"-folder, it will try to start "launcher.exe" which is now non-existent.
By manually changing the name "evelauncher.exe" back to "launcher.exe" fixes this. |

So, "eve.exe" will be aware of this new location and launch the eve-launcher from there? |

Here's an interesting bug.
EVE client got socket closed. Launcher ended up hanging up after closing the client through the Quit button presented ingame. I didn't notice it was socket closed until a hour or so later. So it seems the launcher didnt like that state?

Does it say this in the instructions? I do not recall seeing that
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.

New launcher is slower for me than the old one, is this normal? Meaning that I have to wait up to 30 seconds till it says "Ready" at the bottom (a problem I didn't had with the old launcher). If I restart the launcher, it says "Ready" immediately though.

OK, thanks for the clarification. Digging into this right now. Had a look again. I just set up a few bookmarks on my account using the 'old' launcher. I then went back and fired up the same account using the new launcher. Open View->Client Settings and dragged my settings from the left hand box over to the right hand box. Then opened the client using those settings, voila. Bookmarks available. Sorry if this is a dumb question but how do you do this, I cannot see an open view > client settings. also i can only open the one account so when you say left hand box to right hand box where exactly are you talking about.
If you click the cog-wheel next to your account name and choose 'Manage Profiles', you will get a pop-up window offering you to migrate your old settings to the new launcher. You can drag your settings from the left side over to the right side, and they will then become available for you to use in the new launcher. Mind you, you will also have to choose which settings to use, as the new launcher will automatically use the 'default' settings. Just click the appropriate setting profile after managing your profiles.

If the launcher is not "Ready" could we please have the "Play Selected" button hashed and disabled?
Also, if you do bring up the error dialog about files being locked, make the 3rd choice say "Cancel" rather than "Ignore" (or whatever it says now).
Also, why am I frequently seeing 30 second waits for "Ready" while apparently some files are getting copied? It isn't a client update or a launcher update. What's going on? Marketing foo updates? The Beta Launcher is sliding back into being as bad as the original Launcher....

CCP Phantom wrote:We welcome you to check out the EVE Launcher with all its new features, improved diagnostics tools, and clear design. The download pages have been updated accordingly and are ready for you. The classic Launcher is still available for download, but is only suggested for Windows XP users. How can you guys continually release updates that neglect or inconvenience your Mac customer base? Cases in point:
GÇó The "Run game on DirectX 9" option, which is still present despite being acknowledged as an oversight. This was pointed out Dec-11/2015. GÇó The new launcher does not retain screen sizes for individual clients, and occasional changes or reverts graphic settings. This was pointed out Nov-14/2015.
There is also a bug where if you have Multi Launcher set to anything less than 1 second it will lock up. Fairly certain this was also pointed out previously, but if not - consider this now pointed out. Jan-1/2016.
I'm really at a loss for how things go from "Beta" to "Live" for the rest of the player base when the Mac versions are still at an Alpha state and released either incomplete or with glaring bugs, to be fixed 'whenever'. A great example of this are all the new graphic effects - which with the exception of the engine exhausts and armor damage are all but non-existant for Mac users.

This is only relevant *IF* the new launcher can migrate the old profile properly. The new launcher failed to migrate any of my character's in-game settings or layouts - and yes I selected the profile after migrating in order to launch it. |

Just read your post, exact same problem as mine! Saying "Copying" and all that stuff. BTW when it comes to starting multiple accounts, on one of the computers I use, when I type username and password for one of my accounts, I end up with a list of all three of my accounts. On a second computer, I see only the account I typed the credentials for. Why my accounts aren't linked on the second computer? They are all using the same e-mail address.

I use several account on two computers. Sometimes the launcher forgets the profile of one (or one other) character. I can not reproduce it. It occasionaly occurs.
By any chance - can you tell me, what stuff is written where in the profiles ?
I would like to have a basic profile which fits for all chars. Then i would like to copy "all" to my laptop and chance resolutions and graphic settings for all chars.
On the main pc i would like to have icon-sidebar, gui settings an browser bookmarks identical for every chars. ATM i have to guess and try out, what is in the profile (where). An article could help.

Great new Launcher. However, why does it seem to default to a "new profile" each time it is opened. I couldn't figure out why I kept loosing my in-game widow settings until I noticed that it is defaulting to the "new profile" radio button instead of the saved profile. |

This evening my launcher prompted me to update it. It had a 30 second countdown after which it would update automatically, but I clicked OK so I didn't have to wait... Nothing happened. 30 seconds later the countdown moved into negative numbers and simply kept going.
I hit cancel and closed/opened the launcher again and now it's working fine, but this was a really weird bug so I thought I'd mention it.

After first starting the launcher today I was prompter to update the launcher after a bried download. Selecting OK, CANCEL or waiting the 30 seconds does not matter as update.exe still launches but does not seem to do anything. Starting the launcher restarts the process.
I can still play the game by using exefile.exe or selecting CANCEL and launching clients before the launcher shuts down after a moment and before update.exe starts.
Also, the function to move resource cache in the launcher erases current settings and was able to reproduce this. |

Installed the new launcher a couple of weeks ago, all seems fine. Using Win7 rather than 10 so I can't comment on how that works. I have added 9 accounts so far - all nice and smooth. It installed fine, updates quickly, no problems at all so far.
I love that you can drag and drop the accounts into new sequences after adding them, that you can delete them and most importantly that your password is saved. The problems with being repeatedly asked to re-confirm character name seem to have stopped too (roaming IP here, was getting a bit annoying) although perhaps that's a separate update.
Queries: - Is there a limit on the number of accounts you can add? I have a lot (character trader) so ideally it's infinite. - Can an option be created to rename our accounts once we have input the account name? We might prefer to just see a preferred character name, or even a shorthand (Subcap, Cap, JF etc)? An option to mask our account name might stop people from accidentally doing screenshots with the launcher up and their account name visible too.
Appearance feedback: I'm extremely short sighted, so sometimes I wear glasses that are a couple of prescriptions behind and the EvE font in general has always been annoyingly small. But just updated my contacts and even with these I'm still screwing up face a bit to read some of the bits on the launcher clearly. This might just be me, so disregard if it's not a common complaint but if it is mentioned it might be worth reviewing your font sizing and typefaces. The account login names are perfect in size and they look bold, which helps with white text on a darker background (which is more aesthetically pleasing but I suspect causes eyestrain) - The toolbar link at the moment is illegible compared to the client - I know what it is but prefer the original. Hopefully that's just a temporary icon so we can tell them apart. - The EVE ONLINE large icon is so indistinct in the second line it's possibly legit below what someone with 20/20 could read. - This is just a niggle, but the year in review obscures the button to login, and is suppressed when you click it. Which is annoying if you actually wanted to read it, and annoying if you have read it and need to suppress it every time you open the client because if overlaps part of the login list. - The second line here is also so small and not bolded text it's well below normal typeface you can read clearly.
If we can resize the client manually ourselves that might be a fix. Not a litany of complaints btw, I'm overall impressed with the launcher and the number of developer responses in the thread. Hopefully there's at least some useful feedback in there.
ed. woops forgot to mention - I found this pretty quickly by checking the feedback as the launcher was installing, but I suspect on implementation people will go ballistic if they're expected to manually import settings across. Particularly if some of them delete their existing client to do a fresh instal or don't spot the comment. I'd strongly recommend this post is written into any implementation blog and/or stickied on the launcher screen as a tooltip.
Knowing they have more SP than I do isnGÇÖt going to stop me from taking the fight if I was going to take it.

.... .
Second this suggestion on having something else than your account name. I have previously suggested adding pictures of the chars, or some other means. A shorthand might be even better, when you think about the random screenshot bloopers.
I have the launcher up always. I'm not going to state a number of accounts I have, but having 4-8 clients running at any given time is not uncommon. Swapping between clients, logoff traps, switching screens is part of the game. However I feel it is a waste to use so much space for the launcher. I am one of those that do have a scrollbar on my accounts section in the launcher, even though it covers a good part on a 24" screen. It's a waste. I would like to make the following suggestion: Can the adds on the bottom please be removed after an hour, maybe two We have seen it by then. Or as a alternative, make them vertical on the sides just to get them out of the way.
Also. If I try to shrink it sideways. The minimum size is where the accounts take up 50% of the width. It's a launcher. Please. |

Bug: If you do not check remember password but then check "Remember this computer" for 2 factor authentication, the remember option for 2-factor does not work.
I would really like that combination to work. i.e. its on a PC I don't have pure access to but I preauthorize it to use my account.
Or at the very least, hide the option if it won't work. |

Still no reply yet to my post 2 pages back regarding the long load-up time of the launcher when starting it up for the first time each day.
It's pretty frustrating because I was previously someone who used eveexe.exe in the past but made the switch to the new launcher because it was easier launching 3 accounts at once. It seems that I've traded the speed of eveexe.exe starting near instantaneously (but having to manually type in 3 account credentials) for the ability to launch them at once but having to wait between 45 seconds to several minutes for the new launcher to "copy files" and what not each time I start it up -- i.e. it's a wash.
I'm also not sure why the "play selected button" is available when the launcher is telling me "please wait..." and eventually "copying files" -- if I press play, I get an error that the files are in use and have to tell it to wait/retry later (when the launcher calms the hell down).
Really hoping to get an answer about this soon, thanks! |

Overall launcher looks like it's headed in a great direction.
However, it does not scale with high pixel density displays such as the Surface Book.
If this is ever implemented, please scale to 200% which is usually perfect.
The in-game UI Scaling only goes to 150% and it's just not enough for people like me with things that can barely be called eyes.
